I was in the process of installing these for my gf and the rails threw me off because the instructions for my model had the rail and the plate as separate pieces but realized that they needed to be broken off from the rails from your video. Thanks a lot and great work btw.

If you are anywhere near Ohio, just drive to the factory in Waverly. Office staff is helpful. You can see the cabinets on display. We got ours on a fantastic sale. It took about an hour for them to put the order together, then we just pulled around to the dock to pick up. Once ready for pickup, someone will go over everything with you to make sure you get everything.

After watching this review and one other you have convinced me these are good cabinets. I went ahead and ordered them from Lowe's for my entire kitchen, went with gray base and white wall cabinets. Lowe's has these one sale right now too btw!

Thanks for putting this video out, you've convinced me that these are a good option! Did you use kitchen cabinets for the bathroom? (Vanities are 21" deep vs 24" deep for kitchen cabinets).

Not related to this cabinet video, but …. You’ve mentioned in the past that the previous owner was a dog breeder and had two “dog rooms” in the house. One “puppy room” and one that you thought might be for whelping. You also mentioned that there was a strong dog smell, in at least part of the house. Are you taking any specific measures to deal with any lingering dog smell? I’m thinking of your older video where you describe using Anti-Icky-Poo to deal with cat urine smell in concrete. Maybe with the demo (carpet removal) and painting you have done the dog smell is gone and no further treatment is required.

Just my personal thoughts, but removing the carpets and painting would go a long way I think. In some cases I have nuked substructures with an ozone generator too.

Have you used screws only to hang wall cabinets or cleats?

Not sure I fully understand your question but I temporarily screw cleats to the wall for a straight edge and third hand then use long screws to secure the cabinets. Hope that helps.

I think the Hampton Bay Avondale RTA cabinets are better, in terms of thicknesses. They're sold online at the orange big box competitor.

Ugh just opened up my first cabinet to assemble and I’m completely disappointed that the shelf fronts have plastic wood look trim on the front, looks so tacky when the rest of wood!

Where did you get them? The ones I used from Lowe’s were real wood. Sorry to hear you aren’t happy with yours.

@@HomeSource I got them at Lowe’s. The shelves are plywood with birch veneer everywhere but the front edge of the shelves! So weird that they would do that. I bought a roll of birch veneer today and plan to try to make it look better

You can barely see the seams because it’s coated in plastic 😭

Most of these come from Vietnam and use the same cheap wood type and manufacturing process. Only difference is the assembly options and hardware. The company you buy these from do not build them, they either drop ship or stock in there warehouse. These are really not that great. Cheap wood that dents too easily and very low grade paint that is too thin. Basically a small step above garbage but still garbage.

Not garbage. These are actually quite nice. We bought on sale and were able to save over $30,000 from the pricing at one of the big box stores.
