Last night a buddy of mine got on chat and he had a devastating rifle build. All crit brand sets, obliterate, sharpshooter spec, with scout drone. This is in conflict. We queue with a very competitive clan. He went 1 and 6, got off party chat and disconnected. I think he's rethinking that build.😅😂

Im never looking for meta build unless im raiding or doing some group activity like incursion. Mainly im just looking to make different builds with different playstyles that i can still manage content without having to now stuggle or take longer to clear heroic or invaded missions.

For fast open world farming, Aces with 1886+Determined, Chainkiller, Overlord+Vigilance or Memento is now better than Hotshot. You can still one-shot everything but twice as fast, use a shield, be mobile, and MMRs still work with it. Not to mention negating enemy modifiers.

Losing 25% TWD from vigilance is going to be massive. You're only getting a couple extra bits of WD there with your build, so it isn't going to move the needle. Maybe if you had used hollow man and 1p walker.

I don't understand why people like NinjaBike Backpack. No matter the build you are ALWAYS losing out on damage.

@@vik1ng313 I mean, I get it. Ninja makes a build feel more complicated, since you're getting lots more bonuses. It makes you feel like you're getting a lot. Once you actually do the math, assuming you're getting good uptime on Vigil, yeah, losing that backpack talent is always going to hurt more than the benefits.

@@cheesenips003 like dispatch said above, it all looks good here but you'll still have less damage than a standard high end dps build. DPS is all about crits in this game and you barely have 130%. Have you not seen the video? Dod runs the actual numbers and NBBP is ALWAYS less damage. High end and Aces & Eights is the way to go. Or you can continue wasting your time and resources to test yourself.

actually the M16A2 has the highest dps and quite a bit higher than the rest. Butttt... I guess it's an honourable mention because I'm using an auto clicker for it since this one only does 3 shot bursts and not auto fire.

I am referencing stack building not the DPS. The DPS becomes very quickly irrelevant when building stacks outside of ACS. So the ACR SS has 420 RPM and the M16A2 is 400. 420*1.15/60 = 8 stacks per second. 400*1.15/60 is 7 stacks per second. Each tack is worth 6.5%. If M15a2 is 100, ACR SS is 89.14% of it, which means after in less that a second, 0.68 to be exact. ACRSS is doing more. Up until Max Stack on Striker.

Rifles have always been great. 2.8 mill to the head, 1.7 mill to the body. Artists tool with focus is where it's at. All high end pieces to.

Rifles with long range damage and By the Teeth and a OK build can devastate anything in quick order. Truthfully, you can run any weapon and build if you know how to use the modifiers.

Really annoys me that the classic M1a is at the top. I did the rough numbers and Umbra with rifles was competitive - I'd be curious as to what your take is on it. Feels really good. Real question is: are smgs meta now that you can easily get accuracy and optimal range to rival ARs?

I’m with Ikia when it comes to boosting the minor attribute on rifles up to 40 ish chd. I wonder if that were the case where it would land rifles in the overall dps comparisons

@MechanicMitch I think they need to change the bonus altogether to something like DTA or DTE - pretty much every build is going to have a lot of CHD, since it's the most viable gear minor attribute.

i now some people really like Umbra, and running numbers on it can be surprising. But in terms of overal play and performance it falls short massively. What if there is no cover near you, what if that cover is comprimised, on fire, has an add there? I got many people as a group to try and get Umbra to work at the top end of play, just doing what we could call Casual DUA Legendary. High End DPS does more than Umbra. Umbra was too slow, clunky, inconsistent, often put you in area/situations that you could very easily avoid if, in order to maximise your damage, you did not have to hug a wall for 4 seconds mostly likely next to a rather annoyed chunga that is not going to punch you. Umbra Talent would be better down played and put on some Exotic. Not as a gear set.

@@DodRegnbue Good point. I enjoy Heroic a lot more so that's what I'm always thinking about. Of course, Heroic isn't where the META is decided, so I guess it was a bit of a stupid thing to say ROFL. I think there's an interesting discussion as to whether Umbra's limitations are a weakness of the set itself or how the game is played on Legendary: going into cover with Umbra is supposed to be safe repair time, to prep for an exposed damage phase. Instead, being stuck into cover is oftentimes a death sentence on legendary. In another discussion, I do find it hard to believe that Aces is the best we can do for a rifle besides high end: it takes a minimum of 3 hits to get the damage boost for 2, 3 or 4 shots. So sometimes you'll have to put in 3 hits but only have 2 of those boosted. Unless I got the talent wrong. Even then, you're not getting any crit. I would think Negotiators would be the top spot, especially with its powerful BP talent.

Nope!,,,I have Been using St. Elmos,prestiged to 27 120% weapon Damage,, 3 Pc. Striker with chest Pc. and 2 Gila Gaurd,with Chillout mask and Ninja back Pak max crit damage 162% crit 120% weapon and 46% crit Chance, for a Year, just changed to the Chatterbox Smg,,it is such a Elite killer with raisplitter Assault rifle,i am truly amazed by it . going off from rifle builds, i have them but not impressed,with all the rifles mentioned, rpm armor breaking, rate of fire is what i look for,,thanks for the all the informative video's.

gunner, striker with centurions scabbard, unbreakable on chest… 375 round gr9 with optimist & the pesti… not really meta, but it is the max possible ammo for optimist & is good fun. gr9 will fire for a solid 25 seconds continuously.
