Two reasons for a smart meter. 1, it will allow companies to charge you more at peak times. 2, they can sell your data.

They are costing money, the standing charge has gone up cover the billions they cost. Also the capacitors typically have 12 year if on all time so these units will require replacement more often. First generation models are already obsolete !

I've been put off by comments from guys fitting smart meters and it used to cost £420. to install the meter. Who pays for that bill? Yes, you will pay and did you think it was free, think again. The supplier can also switch your power off in the blink of an eye if falling behind with payments.

Anybody with a brain knows that a meter won’t save you money but it will alert you to how much electric/gas your using so you can make changes.
