Well I thoroughly enjoyed this video presentation. I think the young man doing the video did a fabulous job and answered every question I had been having about making a choice between the smart TVs or the regular. I had noticed that it is almost impossible to find a regular or non smart TV anyway, so my concerns were answered perfectly. I did not think that it was too long-winded, as I needed all that info personally. So thank you very much for this video.

I agree with you but the problem is already and will continue to become is its getting harder to find a dumb tv because most all your top of the line tv brands are just smart tvs only one or two of your lesser known tv brands still sell dumb TVs but they are old models they don't make new models of dumb tvs so in 5 or 10 years we might not be able to find a dumb tvs and most of your top of the line tv brands don't even offer TVs any smaller then a 24 inch anymore only your lesser Known tv brands offer 19 in tvs so in 5 or 10 years you might not be able to find a dumb TV or tvs any smaller then 24 inch so in 5 or 10 years if you need a new tv because your tv doesn't work anymore you might not be able to find a dumb tv

Its called the 'internet of things' otherwise known as the beast system... the reason everything is slowly being linked up is the proverbial frog in hot water experiment being brought into real life with the eventual goal of merging humans with technology (the beast system) and destroying their soul... its Biblical. There is a mark coming (probably gates quantum dot tattoo And some form of microchip) that will link you to the internet/beast system. I would advise everyone NOT to take that 'mark of the beast' (discussed in the book of Revelation) because anyome who takes it will be damned to Hell, scary stuff.

Hi I just started learning about Smart TVs. Is it worth buying a LG Oled tv 55inch or 65 inch TV. However they are so expensive. A 55 inch LG Oled is $3,395 and a 65 inch is about 4995. It should I just buy an ordinary LG tv 2020 model. Not too worried whether it is black black. Your comments please.

Actually converting your Smart TV into a Dumb TV depending upon what devices you have is Smart. For instance I have a video game console which I also use for streaming apps like Amazon Prime and watching Blu-ray and DVDs so I have it connected directly to my modem for fast internet connections. Therefore I don't need to use my Smart TV so I made it Dumb by disconnecting the internet. There is an advantage doing this for starters if I just want to watch local channels on Air when my TV is on no data is being used up because there is no internet running. People spend tons of money on cable/dish and internet when people could just have a subscription to a streaming service and they don't need the cable/dish as long as they have internet. And because my internet on my Smart TV is disabled if I wanted to watch local channels on TV it costs me nothing.

AlphaApple Nice idea. The problem for the manufacturers is the price the customer has to pay. I’d like to see a super fast TV with its own built in web browser and UI keyboard. There are several websites I visit daily, loving to read many Op Ed, digital magazines, and the like. Is there an embedded video in it? Cool just click on it (keyboard/mouse), and off you go!!!. Due to fast developing technology on everything electronic, the manufacturers would have to take into account how many devices of “x,y,z” have to be sold before they’d become “so yesterday”, the consumer looking forward to what is next on the other side of the “techy” mountain. Just imagine a nice big, 4K TV, with its own OS/processor/RAM and user interface what includes Blue Tooth keyboard mouse? Super!!!

I am dissapointed. I had to download a different web browser (was looking for chrome but there are some crappy browsers only). There are no tabs, once an ad pops up and you try to return to the previous page you are 80% of the time stuck on the ad. Cheaper smart tvs lag and crash more often. I would want to see more criticism about smart tvs.

Smart TV's are just a way for TV makers to put up their prices of TVs (which are now getting cheaper) by making you pay for apps on them which they can stop you using on their TV's at any time they like in order to make you go out and buy a new TV from them. Better not fall for their tricks and buy an Apple TV box, Roku box, Google Chromecast etc to get your TV apps. You will get an much better user experience from those devices than you will from any smart TV. I hate Smart TV's and I love tech.

One caveat to smart TV: Once the manufacturer decides to move on and end support for the OS, you're stuck with a device that is mostly broken. I've got 3 "smart tv's" in my house that have software that no longer functions. Buying a "dumb" tv with good picture and sound that can be made smart with a $30-$50 device that can be cheaply upgraded is the way to go. No matter how smart the tv is, the software (OS) will be dumb and obsolete at some point in the future.
@missannebaron
@missannebaron 5 жыл бұрын
What does OS mean?
@snoopyboyblue
@snoopyboyblue 5 жыл бұрын
@@missannebaron It means "Operating System" In this case, the colorful screen with all of the tiles representing apps that you would launch to watch content. These OS's get abandoned when the electronics are too old to support newer versions, or sometimes, ignored when newer versions of the TV are available and it's just not profitable enough to get attention from the programmers. This is guaranteed to happen to every smart tv, some much faster than others.
@snoopyboyblue
@snoopyboyblue 5 жыл бұрын
Keep in mind, the TV will still function, but the extra features that you paid for in the "smart TV" premium will cease to be usable. You'll have a "dumb" tv that has software built in that doesn't do anything.

Reviews.org I purchased a Dell laptop and managed to get an LG reduced priced Smart TV at a cheaper price than buying the TV by itself. It is not a BIG 55 inch TV, but it is the “right” size due to the couch-to-TV distance “rule” (you could do a review in that, if it is interesting enough) in my living room. It has built in apps, 4 HDMI inputs, etc. It does the job quite well. I watched Netflix’s “Lost In Space” reimagined TV series (originally shot on 4K) and the image was incredible!!!. It is the sharpest image that has been displayed on this TV. I must confess that I purchased an Apple TV streaming device which interfaces quite nicely with my iPad/iPhone devices. I am thinking about getting a smart 4k with High Dynamic Range in the not too distant future, but this “cheap” LG TV is doing nicely. Thanks for the nice, short and sweet review (yes, just watched it 3 months later) on Smart TVs. Be well

All of those apps are actually websites like Pluto TV, PBS, Netflix, CW, Tubi, KZbin etc. So for the "smartest" TV, just connect your tv to your computer. Make sure you browser has uBlock Origin and Privacy Badger to avoid commercials and adware. And watch what ever you want with more control and without the middle man. You dont need Roku or Amazon or anything. Use your favorite open source browser. So is it worth getting a smart TV? No, not really. If you get one, and you connect your TV to your computer, you wont even ben using the "smart TV" services because it lacks the power of your browser. Kind of sad, this guy in the video isn't telling you all this. Makes you wonder if he's lying to you or if he's just not a real tech guy.

Pin point. Condense. Quality... make a content like that, not a low content with low quality. Watching this video I just wasted my time, understood nothing.

I don't want a smart TV. For Thing I don't want all those Apps. All I have to do is to buy a Stream device they are more reliable and secure you get updates just like your phone. You want Bluetooth get a Bluetooth transmitter for $15-$20.I want control of all my devices. A non-smart that is the way to go +++

Speaking to you from the future. Smart TVs suck, Smart everything sucks. It breaks more often, its all harder to repair and they can send updates through your wifi that can jsut brick your expensive stuff or randomly change it in frustrating ways that screw up your whole setup, If the company goes under or loses interest any server dependant features disappear and your gadget is now e-waste . My $3500 Sony TV used to be fine, it had an update, out of warranty BAM it randomly restarts itself now. Buy dumb products while you can, its too late for us this crap is the only option now! If you want to stream just get a Shield TV or something

Mighty Red Stallion are you that impatient that you can’t listen for 11 minutes? You realize you can speed up the video in the settings.

@@ronaldvargas8815 people thought that having a longer vid meant that more people would watch your videos.... This has changed. The shorter the video the better. The 10 min mark is OPTIONAL watch time... Between 2-5 minutes is OPTIMAL. it's not about being patient it's about watch time. You're welcome.

wow wow that guy ads like three or four times the amount of words he needs to say anything and it takes him forever to say anything at all because you've got so many words in there that you can't figure out what the heck it is is he going to say something about what he's supposed to be talkin about or is he going to say something that talks about something that leads up to what he might supposed to be talkin about

I hate smart TVs. Stop turning a display that is meant to display stuff that you plug in to it in to it's own mini computer. I have a computer for that. Also the operating systems on those things are god-awfully slow

Sorry but a good user interface is worth a lot more than than a smart TV. The Apple TV is so far superior to any smart TV user interface and you did not show anything a smart TV could do the Apple TV can’t do. You reasoning was about how many HDMI ports an older TV has, well my 5 year old TV has three and that is one more than I need with my Blue Ray plugged in.

Never have Apps, they are fucking violating everyone and people are too stupid to get that. That clip is stupid as hell and not professional at all. An Expert will tell you: - You choose all the time your own software - When connected you have always the control and the overview of what Data are there flowing and from which Program is the most important - always. - You do not have Internet when you can not move free in the internet, the stupid claim you would have internet is the one of a fool not an Expert. - You never let yourself forced to give your Data to something, someone - You always stay anonymous. smartTVs do violate this all, so never ever buy a smartTV.
