I've had a number of Speed and Strength items over the years and I always come away impressed with their durability. No, they are not nearly as high quality as Dianese or A* but they work damn well.

I had a 3 Season S/S jacket for years and loved it. Only reason I got rid of it was it got too big. After loosing 105lbs, it was like a Tent on me. So I sold it and got a 3 Season Harley Jacket. Not because it was Harley, because I loved the jacket...It's REALLY nice to have 1 jacket that fits the bill for multiple seasons. Also, its nice to pack the liner when you head up to the mountains when it gets cooler.

Michael Casler wow, dude. Congratulations on losing the weight. I'm trying to drop about 50 pounds and it's awesome to hear about other people's success. Also, thanks for the comment on the S&S gear. I'm glad it holds up since I've been eyeing their stuff for a little while and I dig the low-key look of their jackets

I have a summer jacket with armor, but my cold-weather riding jacket doesn't have pockets for armor. So I bought one of those flannel "shirts" and armor to go with it to wear under my winter riding jacket. It was way cheaper then a new jacket and allows me to layer. I know you're not going to need it in southern AZ, but if any cold weather riders are trying to extend their seasons like I am, it's a good option.

I live in Texas I actually bought that speed and strength jacket I love it you do have to wear one base layer when it gets below 50 but it's not bad at all

Speed and Strength Last Man Standing Armored Moto Shirt is what I ride with in the Phoenix winters with under armor base layer when below 60 in the mornings. Basically a black denim jacket with elbow/shoulder/back protector. I ride a cruiser, so it pairs well with it.

I have a Speed & Strength Off The Chain jacket and I like it a lot, especially for the sub-$200 price. It’s textile, has Speed & Strength brand CE Level 2 back, shoulders and elbows. Adjustments at the waists and wrists. Vents on the arms and back, both sets zip. Has a removable hoodie liner that zips out with wristlets and belt loop snaps. I’m a bigger dude (t-shirt sized 2XL), ordered in 3XL and seems to fit fine but gets snug with the hoodie. I also live in southern Louisiana and its alright in the summer time and for days when it’s gonna be below 60, the hoodie liner really helps.

Icon overlord jacket works good for summer and early winter down to about 50 degrees F. It has a vest liner that blocks out a decent amount of wind and in the summer without the vest it flows insane amounts of air at speed
@huyked7 жыл бұрын
Please don't take this as being rude. Not at all. I like you and your channel. :D I say, try the base layers like you suggested. See if you can follow your own advice, and tell us how that goes. This way, you also save money, and you force yourself to lose some buffness/*fat. :D I think it feels great to spend money, and to get something new, but when you can make do, it may be worth it.

You should really consider a good kevlar shirt! Been working with motorcycle gear for about 6 years, and the development in kevlar has been really amazing to see. As long as it is actual kevlar and all of the reinfoced areas are connected, a kevlar shirt offers A LOT better protection than a textile jacket. Which is really just that apart from the armor.
@theanitmeme3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the info. I’ve seen good things about Kevlar linings and was wondering how well they would compare.
@saddle8bag7 жыл бұрын
My wife won a pair of their jeans last night at a dealer dinner. They seemed like normal jeans to me. The knees had a different fabric on the inside. but there was no padding nor a place to put any. Didn't feel like there was kevlar in them either. I'm not gonna look a gift horse in the mouth, but I can't say I'd recommend them or would buy them unless one just loves their style. Hopefully, their other gear is a little more substantial. I'm a Firstgear dood. They make very good quality stuff at very reasonable prices.

I like my Street & Steel jacket that is very similar to the second one but my liner is a legit hoodie that looks good alone, the sleeves have zippers instead of Velcro. Armor in the elbows, shoulders, and back, vents in biceps, clavicle and down back, lots of pockets, adjustment on the waist and it looks great in all black.

I believe you should purchase the jacket that you like the best and that fits you the way you like. I have three jackets. I have a tour master air intake jacket a Tour Master Advanced 4 jacket and a first gear Kilimanjaro 37.5 model. They are all nice jackets and the tour Masters have a removable lining and the cost is reasonable on those. Thanks for the video and good luck finding the jacket you like.

I know this is a bit late, but I have the Speed and Strength Stars and Stripes jacket and love it. I don't know how well the construction of the jacket is, but you get a lot of bang for your buck, and the jacket looks nice off the bike too. But I don't live in Arizona so I don't fight the heat as bad as you do.

I live and ride my Harley Sportster 1200 Superlow in Scottsdale. Summer I have a mesh jacket that was about $100 on Amazon. I have Cortech Sequioa that has removable liner and removal sections over mesh. Not as cool as my mesh but ok into the 90s. I also have a LeatherUp leather jacket with removable liner that duo to great venting is good from the 40’s to the 80’s and looks the coolest of my 3. The leather is a little too long but fits well in chest and shoulders. All came with shoulder and elbow armor and back pads.

if you're looking for a more tailored fit, take a look at dainese and spidi. They're a little more pricey but they make great gear! I have a speed and strength summer jacket that I like, but they seem to do allot of the boxy/ American cuts. Also, I'm jealous of your weather. I like the colorway of the first jacket but you seem to be going towards the 2nd one. Oh and i wear hoodies under my jackets all the time and my advice is to make sure you tuck the laces in because thats gonna be dangling in the wind while you ride and it will hit your helmet and make annoying noises. Other than that they both actually look good.

great video, I agree black does match everything, myself, I like the look of the two tone , the first jacket you had on. it did look better in the video. not a fan of the hoodie , but I have a had issues with the zippers on the speed and strength line of jackets and the Velcro ripped on the one that I had used. ride safe, look forward too seeing what you end up in.

This is going to sound really weird but try the first manufacturing top performer. I live in Florida and I started riding with it in October when it was 85 degrees and when you take the liner out and open all the vents, this thing works awesome. It vents better than my Icon Merc. The coldest I've been in with it is about 55 degrees and it does pretty good with the liner. The down side is that it doesn't come with an armor set and they use kinda awkward sizes for the armor. www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/first-manufacturing-top-performer-jacket

I know I’m late to the channel for this video. When you were laying out your plan, it sounded as if you were going to go to a brick and mortar store so you could try bunch of clothes on and then shop for them online, perhaps trying to find a cheaper price. If you ended up buying something from that store, I commend you. Otherwise, it’s called showcasing. Jeff Bezos famously said he never needs to open a brick and mortar store because every store is a brick and mortar store for Amazon. Having said that, I really like your content.
