Hi Saumya. Which is better - steam mop like this or iRobot Brava? 1. I prefer to use some floor clear / disinfectant 2. My kitchen floor gets dirty pretty easily / frequently

Hi Saumya, Yes I am planning to buy steam mop from Shark brand.
@Priya-dm5ow2 жыл бұрын
Hi Saumya, I use the B&D 13E5 model. It works well for me. I use it continuously for 30mins-1hr, to clean my 3BHK (1530sq ft). I take break just to refill the water tank after cleaning around 2 rooms. Steam gets produced in few seconds. Cleaning quality is good as the microfiber mop pad wipes up all dirt with the help of steam. But if I use the same pad for whole house, it gets too dirty, depending on how dirty the floor was to begin with. Either we can wash the mop after cleaning half house and then continue, or use the refill pad (purchased separately) and clean both at the end. If the floor is regularly cleaned and less dirty, one pad can be used for whole house without any break. The main issue is the cord length as I find it insufficient to cover a big room like living, from one end. We may need to change the plug points at different corners. To work around this, I bought an extension cord and connect the mop to it which works well for me. I keep the extension connected at the middle of the apartment (dining), and from there I can move the steam mop to all rooms without switching plug points. I use only filter water for refill, as very less water is required for cleaning (around 3 cups for whole house). I use steam mop and spin mop alternatively (either, once a month), to get the water cleaning satisfaction too. Hope this review helps.

Hi Priya, very helpful! Thank you! Are you able to use it for more than 30 min without it stopping or getting heated? Cos this was one of the problems many people have highlighted regarding steam mops
@Priya-dm5ow2 жыл бұрын
@@TheGrapevineIndia Yes, the machine has not stopped on its own or got heated beyond limit. But I have to stop it in between, maybe in 10-15 minutes, to refill water while it is stopped for a few minutes and then restarted. Since I mop my home only once a month, and that too with spin mop at times, I can say that I have used the steam mop only a few times in the last one year (since I purchased it). No issues so far. It is very convenient if we decide to do a quick mop, as there is no hassle of bucket and water. Only the mop pad needs to be washed after cleaning, which can be done over a sink or in bathroom. Some people use washing machine, which I don't prefer due to hygiene reasons.

I use the B&D 13E5 model. It runs for long periods. I just need to keep filling it with water. I use an extension cord to deal with the cord length problem. However, I've found it leaves water stains on the floor. It gets the floors really clean and the swivel head is perfect for getting into corners. If you've got a build-up of dirt in a corner, the steam mop will get it out in no time.

Great insight Saumya, Thank you once again, you are always spot on. Been using the BLACK+DECKER Steam Mop (forget the precise model No) for a Year now. Ticks all the boxes - Except - the mop Velcro wears off pretty quickly. Aside that its a pretty nifty gadget esp for NCR homes as the dust factor which we've here is perhaps 10 times than that rest of the country - esp BLR & BOM have literally no dust.
@TheGrapevineIndia2 жыл бұрын
Hi Prashant! Good to know, thanks for sharing! Oh BLR has horrible amount of dust, not to mention that it is a city that is always in construction mode.
@rayomandbuhariwalla7192 жыл бұрын
Where i live in mumbai is also really dusty
@srinivasangeologist4120Ай бұрын
I don't think steam mop can remove fine dust in highly air polluted cities like Delhi. The best way is to use vacuum cleaner and then mop the floor. I use Dyson V8 for regular cleaning and old Eureka forbes corded vacuum cleaner occasionally for deep cleaning. Now and then, we mop after vacuum cleaning either using spin mop or handheld spray mop.

Hi, perhaps you could include details about the steam output. That's an important paramter. It'd be great if you could offer inputs on that. Thanks!
@SreelakshmiPrabhakar2 жыл бұрын
I think you have a reason for not including two major brands in the steam cleaning business - Bissell and Karcher. While Bissell steam mops looks more like the ones you compared, the Karcher models look like cannister vacuum cleaners and come with different attachments. I have found my steam cleaner (not mop) great for cleaning melted cheese from the sandwich maker, cleaning stove, cleaning windows and shelves, etc.
@TheGrapevineIndia2 жыл бұрын
Hi Sreelakshmi! Yes Bissel and Karcher have kind of outpriced themselves out of the market. Therefore I did not include those.
