Well, you're not going to be taking any calls so for me, again, it would come down to comfort comfort comfort and as I say, the QC45's are the most comfortable to me. Sound wise they are plenty good enough. Won't be missing anything. As for sound, and I know you don't like to EQ your headphones but I use the Bass boost (or whatever it's called) in the Bose app and they sound fantastic. Right, so when are you sending me my ticket to this dessert island? 😎

You perfectly describe this line of Bose headphones and their iconic design. I have the 35s and the same holds true. I find myself choosing them above the others I own most days. Not the best sounding of them all but overall the most brilliant design.

So glad you made this video. I have considered my Bose QC45's to be the best of the headphones I have; AirPods Max (too heavy/don't fold/crappy case) Sony XM5's (ear cups too small/Crappy case). One thing you didn't mention (and which I think ALL headphones should have) is a ruddy big R and L so you can tell which way they go on!! Every time I put my Sony's on I have to search for the microscopic r & l that they've done their best to hide, it takes my ages. I just reach for the QC45's. They are the most comfortable headphones I have ever used, and comfort cannot be understated for importance. Great review Mark.

Got myself a pair of these, largely influenced by this review. I've recently started traveling a lot for work with some 12+ hour flights, and having to work in a lot of public spaces. I have a pair of Airpods Pro which had been getting me by, but not enough battery life. The QC45's have been a near-perfect buy. I think they sound great and noise cancellation is like magic. And the case really is so practical, it really helps when trying to travel with just carry on luggage instead of a suitcase. The one gripe I'd have is call quality in noisy environments, it's just a lost cause in my experience. Thankfully not a dealbreaker for me. No regrets at all though, if you're after travel-friendly headphones, these are ace.

May I add the wish for simpel neon or strong visual colour L and R outside..to see them easy ! I never know what is left and right ! and bright L and R inside ! Its a strange thing they believe we are able to read miniture text outside in suttle same colour.. Happens in many products and fixed easily. I took sony 20 to 30 years of product development to think of backlit key in remotes for new tv.. How SLOW is the world designers ? ?? Dont they have user test before they release products to fix all these small things and listen ? Yes, QC 45 is one of the better sounds overall and comfortable, just not really amazing and for some reason Bose dont last well.

I don’t use headphones on a daily basis, but when I travel, I do want good noise cancelling and COMFORT. I have the Bose NC 700 which, as you pointed out, are great. But I find them a bit on the heavy side. They feel sturdy but also a little stiff and rigid. While some people may find that attractive, they end up becoming a little uncomfortable to me after long hours. I’d really like to get my hands on these 🎧

I just bought the Bose QC45’s, and after 2-3 days of enjoying them, I exchanged my QC45’s for the Bose 700’s just to be certain I was not missing out on anything. The QC45’s are actually a little better. I’m giving the 700’s a little more time to be sure, or find some reason to love and keep them. But so far the QC45’s win for me. First thing is, QC45’s have deeper and roomier earcups inside. Crazy because the 700’s have a wider diameter earcup, but not as much room inside. Also, the aware mode with noise cancelation disabled, this performs very bad. You can hear your self through the speakers with a slight latency to it it sounds like you are listening to your self over an intercom. The Bose QC45’s some how master this and sound absolutely natural. Last but not least, the QC45’s block out sounds slightly better when noise cancelation is on. One thing that is upsetting is, I got these Bose 700’s brand new sealed at Walmart and when I opened them they were dead as a door nail. After opening the Bose app, I saw my Bose 700’s were manufactured in 2019. So I had to charge them for 15 minutes before they would even turn on lol. I updated the firmware on my 700’s. And I’m just really not pleased with them. I thought they would be better than the QC45’s. One more thing, my Bose 700’s also have an older Bluetooth device inside of them. While the QC45’s support a newer BT standard. There are things that the Bose 700’s are great at, but I am just not loving them at all, which is a disappointment for me. I hope this is helpful for people deciding who can’t easily try devices before buying them. But right now, I want my QC45’s back lol. I will give it another day or so with the 700’s to see if anything miraculous changes my mind. I will say 100% the only clear advantage for the Bose ANC700 headphones is they are slightly louder than the Bose QC45’s. The 700’s and just barely reach “Hurt your ears” the QC45’s cannot get as loud.

I took a gamble, never tried them as I have the Sony earbuds the latest which are pretty good but as I wear hearing aids I have to take them out before putting in the earbuds. Anyway, due to an issue I had with bows 20% discount so I thought I took advantage of it, and I bought the QC 45s not knowing that 4:41 they’ve been around for a whyle . I just thought I’d better take advantage this offer and I got wine on a refurbished set for 135 quid Well, I was impressed by the sound as they can cover my ears with my hearing aids in. And as my hearing lacks high end frequencies. The equaliser even did a better job. This is the problem today and choosing headphones. Majority of people don’t realise how much of hearing us they may have So first thing you need to check before even reviewing headphones is to get your mail checked. The sound for me is grateful what I paid. I’m not too sure my hearing would be good enough for the new up-and-coming future sets. Are your ears good enough to hear the best of your headphones?

Great headphones, super lightweight, very comfortable, sound as well well as the all other features are more than „ok“ and one of the best in class regarding noise cancellation! QC25 is actually better. Because you can find them at a really cheap price. And run them through a quality bluetooth adapter/amp. The QC45 bluetooth connection is junk, like 99 percent of items with bluetooth, you don't want that so called upgrade. The QC25 also has a AAA battery that can be easily replaced and not have to worry about charging or eventual battery failure that is difficult to replace.

I’ve been using the QC35iis pretty much since they were released. I think the case is very similar but I literally never use it. Partly because they are usually on my head, but when off my head I fold them up and put them in my pocket. Over 5 years of that doesn’t seem to do them any harm. They last all day - but I do charge them every day. However I have finally broken them with some water damage… so am getting the QC45s to replace them

How are you finding the qc 45? I also have had qc35iis for 5+ years and am considering an upgrade because I’m starting to notice some deterioration in the sound and connection. Any things you miss about the 35s, how’s the build quality compare?
@JimiCanRead
@JimiCanRead Жыл бұрын
@@danielarthur04 They are very similar, the main difference is that on the QC45's instead of noise cancelling having "high/low/off", it only has two modes: "quiet" (noise cancelling) or "aware" (amplifying the sound around you so it sounds like you aren't wearing headphones). The aware mode is sometimes helpful so you can listen to something but still hear if someone talks to you, BUT both "quiet" and "aware" modes have terrible problems with wind noise - if you wear them outside and it's ever windy, the mics pick up the wind and make a horrible sound. On the QC35iis I would just turn the noise cancelling off in that situation and that meant no wind noise. I hate that I don't have that option on the 45s and it makes me use them less. In terms of build quality they are very similar to the 35s though. It's nice having USB C. But yeah I wish I could trade them back in for some 35iis because of the wind noise issue. I has the qc-45. I got them in February 2023. The sound started cutting in and out 2 months ago with light use. Im well past the return policy from Best Buy. So im stuck with these headphones that dont work as they should. The inly redeeming quality is they are comfortable. The battery life was garbage as well. It would go from 100% to 80% in less than 1.5 hours at low to moderate volume.

I have owned something like 15-20 pairs of Bose headphones/earphones over the last 15 years (sometimes owning multiple pairs at once, sometimes owning a pair of headphones and earphones at once, etc...). I really recommend reading this comment, because as a long time and "experienced" Bose customer, I have some (literally) valuable wisdom to share. It's a long comment but it's worth your time. Something I really really REALYL want to emphasise with buying Bose headphones is the no-questions-asked, guaranteed free replacement, 2 year rolling warranty you get not just with Bose headphones, but with ALL Bose products. Why have I owned so many pairs of Bose head/earphones? Because every 1-2 years, I call Bose support and I make up some garbage like "the left earbud/earcup is clicking/quieter than the right one/cutting out" or whatever you want that sounds semi plausible, and that effects your experience with the product. Bose support will have you run through a few troubleshooting steps, you keep saying "ok I'll do that- ahh no it didn't work, it's still clicking..." and within a couple of minutes they will let you know that they're emailing you a free-returns postage slip to send the headphones off, and you will get a free, NEW replacement in the mail within 2 weeks. The only downside is, you'll have to wait 10-14 days without headphones. But the upsides are many. (An im First, every time you do this, your warranty gets extended 1 year from the day you receive the replacement pair, so you can repeat the process every year, essentially for an infinite headphones glitch. Secondly, and this is one of the coolest things, Bose's policy is such that they HAVE to honour your warranty, even if your product is discontinued. I'll explain a scenario that happened to me a couple years ago to explain. I had the QC35, and had replaced them a couple times. When it came to replacing them again as it was coming to the end of the additional 1 year warranty since the last replacement, Bose informed me that they no longer offered/sold the QC35, so to honour my warranty, they would have to ship me the nearest match to the QC35, which meant I got a free upgrade to the QC35 II. If I still had them and continued to replace them (I sold them after another replacement to buy the 700, but after owning two pairs of 700 and really disliking them, I replaced them to have a new sealed pair and sold them for nearly the retail price. Also a pro-tip: if ever you sell your Bose headphones to buy an upgrade, get them replaced first to sell them as "brand new and sealed", this is another reason to do the yearly replacement), I probably could have continued replacing them every year and eventually gotten upgraded to the QC45. Thirdly, when you return the "not working" headphones to Bose, all you ship is: the headset. You keep the case, the charger, any accessories, and they even usually tell you to take the ear cuishons off of the headphones before shippig them, meaning you'll have a spare pair. I have two spare cases from my old QC35 II which I had replaced multiple times. I use one of them as a case for my DJI Osmo gimbal (side note, it's astonishing how perfectly the gimbal+tripodfit in this case so snug!!), and the other I use as a "tech travel pouch" kind of thing, for chargers etc... Another note for prospective buyers of the QC45 headphones specifically is that, the QC SE headphones which you may see listed for sale for about 1/2 the MSRP of the QC 45, are literally the same headphones. Back when Bose quietly "launched" the QC SE, it was very hard to find any info about what exactly they were, Bose didn't actually publish any official information so it gave the impression they were a lesser pair of headphones- they aren't. The QC SE literally ARE the QC 45, but repackaged with the SE branding, with the ONLY concrete difference being that you get a soft case instead of the classic hard case seen in the video used since the QC 25. So like, I just bought a pair of QC SE, and all I'm gonna do is stop using one of my spare old cases as a tech pouch and start using it as a case for the headphones, and bang, I literally have the QC45 + case for 1/2 the price of the 45 (plus a tasty black friday discount!). Your take away from this should be: if you want to own the QC45 and the good case, buy the QC SE and look on ebay to buy the case for any of the following models: QC25, QC35, QC35 II, QC45. These all have identical cases and will probably cost 10-20 bucks (some tiny differences like the way the logo is stitched on the case, and the shape of the outter stretchy fabric pouch, but nothing major). Saves a lot of cash over buying the 45 outright just for the sake of the retail box saying "QC45" and getting a hard case which isn't worth the actual price difference. Finally, a disclaimer: I am an EU/UK customer! Laws and policies on warranties may change based on country/region! I can't speak for how this works in the US, but everything I have described has been based on my real world experience over the course of 10-15 years of buying, and subsequently replacing Bose headphones/earphones. Some people may think this is a lot of hassle just to get some new headphones, and that's fine, not everyone will want to do this. Some people may think it's not worth having to go 2 weeks without headphones every year, and that's fine. But if you want good headphones without spending too much money, or without worrying about if they break after a few years- this is a perfect solution.

Nice review. Although, the thing is I am one of the people who buy headphones with the headphone jack quality in mind, unfortunately most reviewers these days cares only for the wireless capability only, as a result, it is almost impossible to find a better wired headphones using reviews... please do consider headphone jack as well. I feel not everyone is going to buy only for wireless capability ( I don't; hopefully there are some who shares the same feeling)

I got mine today after 4 years of QC 35ii I have to say I'm massively disappointed by the lack of settings for noise canceling. Either you have "aware" that amplifies surroundings, or "quiet" that is full power noise canceling. With my QC35 I would mostly use the medium setting for noise canceling for office time, or at home. Occasionally the high setting for plane/bus travel. Only having maximum power NC is hurting my ears after 2 hours, and if I turn "aware" on I can hear the fan from my desktop extremely loud. 35s had an issue with high NC and wind. I had to set it to medium to not be bothered while running of cycling. I guess I'll discover in the morning if the 45s are even usable outdoors or not

Agree completely on the QC 35 and 45s ! Even busrides with would pick up weird sound, while too heavy on the ears in full mode. The perfect pair of this Bose model, has not be made yet. I think they lack the ability to use USER feedback to collect info on what would be needed t make them better hit our wishes. anc on and off in wireless mode, and 3 levels I agree with you and bit stronger fuller sound ! Its simple to fix as all they have to do is borrow from other models and brands plussides. Buttons I like old fashioned and simple as it is to as it is kineticly. Thats why I did not get the sony.

I recently bought the qc se which I was told were exactly the same as the qc45 apart from the case. Compared to my old qc35 I find the noise cancelling dismal. I use mine in a workshop and I get strange feedback with some machines that’s just plain nasty. Wind noise is worse as well and when you hear metal clicking (eg cutlery) it gets amplified by the head phones.

I had the same experience, I bought the QC SE from Costco (had to get a new one cause previous got stolen). The noise cancel wasn’t the same, so I returned it and got the 2021 model as I originally had it. I don’t know if the 2023 ANC quality drop down or the Costco SE has a drop in quality. Either way, I’m happy with the 2021 one.
