Are The Dodgers Really Going After Nolan Arenado? Where Does He Fit In? We Play With Lineup Options

I do like the sound of Arenado in this lineup! I truly think he would have a bounce back type of season, especially since he wouldn't be counted on to do everything at his age. But no matter what, I trust in the FO!

Egg zackly! I don't think anyone will get upset WHEN he's here, it's just not ideal right now. Get Nolan & Bo!! CT3, Grove and Outman...buh bye ( I still think Outman can and will make it here in the MLB,just not on the Dodgers. Same with Walker B. )

Nolan has much higher wxBAVG ( WX = weighted expected batting avg) wxOPS etc etc. So he still won't be " old school " Nolan Arenando, but we will see better, at least. Also.... Nolan didn't have anybody to protect him last year! Edman was hurt ( I wonder whatever happened to him?) Goldy - he's washed up pretty much ( have fun at some Yankees, him & belly aren't the answer to Soto.. LMAO!) So GoldSmidht wasn't helping. Contreras- was hurt a lot Noottbaar hurt some, down year too Winn , Walker, etc ... Trash So u put Nolan here,.in this lineup !!?? ... Yeah ! Guaranteed he rakes. and we NEED that contact ( same OBP as Max, I know, but we get to put the ball in play) in our 5-6-7 hole. Smith gets exhausted 2nd half, Max whiffs everywhere, as does Teo and Santander! Pages will too I assume if Teo gone. Pages will grow n produce more it sounds like, but he'll also have some sophomore slump rough patches, striking out all over the place! So: Teo/Pages/Santander, Max, Smith in our 4-5-6 middle of lineup will get breezed thru alot in the Playoffs! Nolan #5 will break that shid up He we got, what: 7-8-9 : Edman/CT3, Conforto & Lux Barnes, CT3, Kike? , Outman? Rojas bench. Is this not a lineup that will be steady 1-9!? Might not be the sexiest lineup 1-9 regular season, but it's a nasty playoff formula.

In your 1st scenario, seems like you forgot we have Rojas. He can platoon at IF.

If Cleveland moved Jimenez and Naylor, maybe the Dodgers should at least inquire about Jose Ramirez. That would be a big time acquisition. Or pitch the Twins about a big package for Lewis and Duran. Lewis has had injury issues and even though he was relatively healthy last season, his numbers were down. Duran is coming off an injury and is in his final year of arbitration, so the Twins would likely move him to stay within budget. I believe this would only be an option for the Twins if they felt they truly cannot realistically compete for a title in 2025. But a Lewis and Duran trade would bolster two vital positions and would be cost friendly for the Dodgers.
