So, if you look to trade Skinner, right now, what could you potentially get for him? The oilers would probably be looking at retention of partial salary and or throwing in a prospect, since Skinner's value is low. Logical play is to hold on to him as a depth player, because arvidsson will probably end up getting banged up again, hopefully that will open up another opportunity for Skinner to show us what he's really capable of

What really stings is that we could’ve kept Holloway (who’s having a dynamite season) and saved a decent chunk of money while doing so…

Knoblach answered the reporters question about Skinners "Demotion?" genuinely surprised..."I don't view it like that at all. We have a Top 6 and then we have 2 other lines expected to contribute. I thought the Skinner, Ryan, Perry line gave us some very good minutes and played smart veteran Hockey".... What is wrong with a "SMART.VETERAN HOCKEY" 4th line with guys who have played Top 6 minutes throughout their careers and will probably be asked to move up and down the line up regardless...(Injuries, Kane's return ect)....If the long playoff drive hammered home any point, it is that teams NEED at least 14 or 15 Forwards, 8 D-men and 2 Goalies to go the distance.

6 goals aside, skinner plays a poor 200 foot game. He’s atrocious in the defensive end. Looks out of place even when they played him with Connor & Leon. So far not good, I guess we can give him more time but as of right now I don’t think he deserves to be on this team.

He may look out of place with McDavid or Leon, but he is hardly the only one....From Jesse to Lucic to Athanisiou , it is not always an automatic fit...As a bottom 6 guy that understands that role and you can still use on the 2nd unit Powerplay he looked pretty damn good.

Jeff Skinner has done absolutely nothing to warrant another chance higher in the lineup. The fact that this is even a talking point (that he somehow should) is just baffling to me.

@dana102083 yes. And I remember another game (or maybe it was the same one) and he gave away an absolutely brutal one in the latter half of the third period. I saw that one and immediately thought, "Knoblauch is never going to trust this guy."

My theory is Jeff Skinner is purposely put with defensive players to improve his overall game and get him ready for playoff hockey.

Thats not a good comparison. Brown had major surgery and legit needed to get i to the geoove..skinner didn't have surgery and is on an off year. Brown was expected way more tha. Skinner
