I emailed them about buying those panels about a year ago or so and becoming a dealer for them as well. No response. This makes sense now

The simple fact that you mentioned being able to deal with overseas residential clients (like New Zealand you stated as an example) makes Real Acoustics a far better and surprisingly more cost effective solution than GIK Acoustics I imagine. I tried ordering from GIK for some panels to be sent to me in Australia and despite it being written on the header of their website ‘We ship internationally!’ all they could offer was transport of my 4x panels to the local UK shipping port, where I would have to fill out import/export customs paperwork + organise shipment to the Australian port + organise transport of said panels to my address! And with their limited participation the quote was still over $3500 just to get the 4x panels to their local port... I’m not impressed with that. I do hope Real Acoustics manages fill this gap which exists for overseas customers desperate for literally ANY solution in the acoustic treatment world, especially here in Australia. Thank you Matt… All the best, Nickolas.

Shit… maybe I commented too early. Just watched the end of this video . 😢

What did I say at the end? I can deal with New Zealand but yes shipping is high.
@snowinokinawa2 күн бұрын
@ Thanks for the reply Matt… the end, just when you mentioned it cost thousands and thousands when you shipped to New Zealand. Great to hear you can deal with overseas clients. I’ll be sure to contact you for some gud looking panels next year. Merry Christmas man! Nickolas

Hi Matthew. Just to get an idea, are these similarly priced to Vicoustic?
@PoesAcoustics2 күн бұрын
Yes they are

Thanks Matt! You answered my question and gave me a path forward. I will reach out to get more details on the Gud diffusers in the New Year. Happy Holidays!

When you mention 300ms or 400ms decay time, at what frequency are you measuring that?
@micb3rd3 күн бұрын
Ideally you want an evenly controlled room so you want the target decay to be measured right across the frequency range, it always goes up in ms in the bass area and is tough to control so so often people focus on the 150hz to 20Khz range.

Those are 'gud' news. Congrats!

This is great news, congrats! This explains a lot, they have consistently ignored any inquiries through email and messenger over the past year. Do you know if there is a reseller in Europe or would you perhaps be able to supply this region as well? Thanks!

Matt, thanks for continuing to put out great information! I hope you will have some time for my relatively simple project (for you) sometime soon! Regards, Tony Clinton

Great channel.. Is it possible to put some type of art work over the panel..
@PoesAcoustics2 күн бұрын
Over the GUD panel? Yes but there would be a small loss of efficiency.

I'll bet a bazillion people have a room with the MLP about 2 feet from the back wall. Would a single GUD Panel behind the MLP help overcome bad effects of such a close wall--at least for that one seat?

It wouldn’t be a magic fix. It would help. But nothing totally fixes that issue.

About carpet on the floor... If you have a big TV with the center channel speaker under it, wouldn't carpet make a significant improvement in eliminating that first reflection off the floor?
@ThePentosin2 күн бұрын
Only very high in frequency. Above human speech frequency range. Its too thin, thats the biggest issue.
@SoCalVipers2 күн бұрын
@@ThePentosin Do you have any data supporting that? I don't. But to my ear, the difference between the way a carpeted floor sounds vs hard floors is pretty dramatic. My new room will be very hard and live. I planned on putting a huge area rug between the screen and sofa to deal with both light and sound reflections. It will be easy for me to try with and without to see what happens. If I remember, I'll post it here in 2 months.
