Hellebuyck hasn’t even needed to be good this season. It’s the whole damn roster buying into Rick Bowness’ defensively stingy ass system. This may sound crazy, but they’ve actually been better since Kyle Connor got injured. Know why? He’s always been one of the biggest defensive liabilities on the team. Jets are a defense first team now, and still have enough talent depth to outscore their opponents….Namesnikov, El Niño, Vilardi, Ehlers, Scheifele, the list goes on…Then they also have two stellar goalies! Jets have cooked up the special sauce needed to win championships, time to wake up and smell the jet fuel people. GJG✈️✈️

After the win last night they’re first in the NHL, not just their division. The question isn’t if they’re going to make the playoffs, it’s if they can get through their division to make the WCF. The team didn’t even start very good but the last time they gave up more than 3 goals in a game was November 2nd. That’s 28 games in a row. And not just Helle, their backup has a .920 as well.

It not just the goalies in Winnipeg, this is a team that is winning the puck battles along the boards, getting out of their own end quickly and simply and just good team defense.

People point to the signing of CH and MS, and the LA trade as keys, but the signing of Broissart was also huge. It gives Helley a breather without missing a beat. This will pay big dividends come playoff time...

For people who dont watch Jets they arnt relying on hellebuyck for wins,Scheifele is playing defence not complaining,our contracts except Schmidt are value not 10million plus players. Put the depth against any team they are better Neidereitter,Namestnikov,Appleton,Iafallo,Lowry they will suck teams playing boring hockey in playoffs. We also have done amazing with prospects growing own talent from Scheifele/Trouba til now with Mcgroarty,Lucius,Barlow,chibrikov,lambert,Salmonsson,Divincentiis,Milic. Since were a team not a big destination for players imo we been best look at drafts only bust ever is vesalainen. Guys Scheifele,Trouba,Ehlers,Lowry,Hellebuyck,Connor,Morrissey, Perfetti,Laine,Roslovic, Appleton,Comrie,Petan,Copp,Poolman,Harkins,Stanley,Kovacevic,Samberg,Gustafson,Chisholm,Heinola,Perfetti, Even know some of these guys arnt amazing or top players some teams have had no guys make NHL some years or pane out.

Funny. I haven't thought the Jets were for real, now for a number of years and analysts would give them high praise. Now I think they're legit and the analysts aren't giving them their due. The games are completely different nowadays. They control the puck, it isn't just Helly on defence, the forwards are back checking hard. This is a very different team from years past

Love to see Jets getting some attention from non-Manitobans. But this analysis reads as stat-watchers. You can't be watching games to simply say this is a playoff team. This team looks like they are in another league right now, and it's absolutely insane to watch the dominance.

I wouldn't be surprised to see a Jets v Oilers WCF, and boy would that be fun. As a Jets fan, I tend to like our matchup against the Oilers, and win or lose those games are rarely dull.

Best team in the league right now. I'm still sore regarding how our 2018 run ended against Vegas. The series against Nashville, at the time the best team in the league, was monumental. We don't get that feeling too often in Winnipeg, so when we do, we cherish it. I would love for the Jets to still see that run for what it is - unfinished business - and gather their strength to treat it as any unfinished business needs to be treated.

They're the best 5v5 team in the league. Special teams have room to improve, but they're obviously not hurting the team in any devastating manner (1st in the NHL standings). When they figure those things out, this team could do real damage in the playoffs
