Thank you, Luca. That's exactly what I've been saying about the Alex DeBrincat trade. It's not only bad I having to trade him from Ottawa to Detroit, but the Ripple Effect from the Getting Him From Chicago In The First Place. While I think that it was the right thing to Fire DJ Smith, more blame goes to Pierre Dorian, Former GM, for The DeBrincat from Chicago, without having him signed for less/yr than the $9M/yr, was A Big Mistake & then to get Kubalic+ was even more exponential. Let me know what you think

Ottawa has been doing this since the 90s, look good on paper, then absolutely blow it during the season and have a top pick. There are like 2-3 exceptions since like 1990, but this is typical Ottawa and shouldn’t be a surprise

I just want to point out on the Hronek trade, Wings fans loved him and are super happy to see him doing well, but I think we would still do that trade all over again. Axel Sandin-Pelikka (the player we drafted with the first round pick), is about to shatter SHL records for U20 defensemen.

The best trade of the year is unarguably the Canucks Islanders Trade. It was a mayor win win. Horvat is a ppg and him and Barzal are looking elite. The islanders are second in the metro. And the Nucks go out and get Hronek and dump the Horvat contract and are now one of the best teams in hockey. Win win. Great deal

As an Ottawa fan, I love your guys' take on this. What in the flying good god are we doing? I thought we were gonna be okay with Korpi and Forsberg. We have garbage in the goaltending department as of those two, giving up goals we shouldn't be giving up. Also, our defensive scheme does not work if you have no forwards on the first three lines who want to defend (excluding Crookshank, Chartier, Tarasenko and Kelly from that statement). OUR MOST BAFFLINGLY RIDICULOUS PROBLEM IS OFFENCE, how in the world are we letting Stützle lose the puck three times in 45 seconds when we are on the power play? Why do we sometimes fall into a bizarre stupor where we find that none of our players can receive a pass for 5 minutes in the second period? And why overall are great hockey players playing bad hockey in Ottawa? I have no idea, however I have faith we will win a few games after the break. But that's all you can say as an Ottawa fan right now.
