What to do when anxiety has a hold and you just can't let... it... leave? Obviously, I deal with that quite a bit, and this evening, I turn to my number one distraction from the plagues of life: movies! My Sides are mostly on board with this... mostly. Are distractions like these helpful in anxiety-ridden situations like these?

I really like how they're actually engaging with and addressing Virgil's runaway anxious thoughts. Even though they're distressing, they're worth discussing, and they take the time to make sure he feels understood rather than just dismissed out of hand. it's interesting to see how Virgil has shifted from *being* anxiety, to *having* anxiety, in a way. I've noticed that it seems like he feels the anxiety himself and Thomas just feels it as an after-effect because Virgil is a part of him, rather than him just eliciting it, as time goes on. it's nice because I can recognize a lot of myself in him when he goes on anxious tirades, and it's kind of comforting, in a way.
