@@RetroToHero especially for the games I missed :> Never played the kain series, only played first lunar, as my friends second lunar bugged out about 3 hours into the game due to a scratch. One thing I've been loving is the kamatari damacy remasters or what ever :> Never got to play as a kid, so playing the first two finally was great. I'm definetly in the OLD catagory :> 49, my first games were on the comodore 64 :> Bard's taile, and such hehe.wich reminds me, still need to play through 2 and 3 of the trilogy.

A good 90% of video game remakes that come out are actually great. They're a good way to revive a dormant franchise by introducing them to a new audience and training younger developers to potentially create new entries in the future. Franchises like Kirby, Yakuza and Resident Evil still get original titles so the remakes are there to keep fans happy until the next mainline games.

@@vianabdullah2837 totally agree! And there are some cases where remakes probably (will) guide the direction an entire series takes. The new Visions of Mana seems largely indebted to the direction and achievements of Trials of Mana remake, and I wouldn't be surprised if Silent Hill 2 remake will be a major influence on how Konami wants to move forward with the series.

@@RetroToHero Good recent examples are with Samus Returns and Link's Awakening where's they were used as a basis for the developers to create original 2D Metroid and Zelda games.

@@vianabdullah2837 exactly! It might be used strategically, but if it leads to good games overall being developed, I'm all for it!

kind of have the feeling that the golden era classic movies will come back as Donnie Yen is about to do martial arts movies in Hollywood. I know they made some great remakes and comic book movies but its not welcoming us now like how many Lion King, Avengers, Batman, Superman or whatsoever do we still need?!!! Even nobody will look at people like Tom Holland amd Ben Affleck to say they want to be Spiderman and Batman. If you go back to the 70s and 80s, people want to become a martial artist because and Bruce Lee and people want to become a bodybuilder because of Arnold.

Not enough remakes honestly….

@@dustpal yeah! It can be a controversial take but I think many classics, especially lesser known ones, ought to be brought back in the spotlight!
