Merry Christmas early. One thing a trucker told me that always helped his rig start in cold weather. A engine heater and keeping at least a 1/3 or half tank of fuel. Clean up those battery bars really good.

yeah even a small sedan like my father's old Peugeot 305 needed that and we never got as cold as Vermont.

Great video ARV. Gotta love how the 96 K1500 Silverado is the one assisting your 2 sister’s NEWER model vehicles while they’re disabled. Gotta love, and appreciate the dependability & longevity of the GMT400 series. What a snag of a truck you managed to pickup in that one from Washington state. Thoroughly enjoyed the content you put out with Waldo on y’all’s trip back to Vermont with it.😎👍🏻

Think you might want to kee a can of starting fluid in your truck and give it a couple of good squirts on those cold ones or even better plug in the block heater for a while I plug my cars in and have a timer that starts around 2am turning on the heaters so they don't have to be on all night makes a big difference on starting and saves somecwear and tear on the starter, battery and the engine. 😊👍 from the looks of those tanks you might want to give them a squirt of undercoat wool wax or something it is Vermont rust mite season. 🙂

Hey young man I don't know if you know this but you're messing up your parking check on your tow rigs because you're not setting the parking brake when you're loading the trucks and that makes it really hard on your parking check inside the transmission so you should try to remember to set your parking brake when you're loading up the truck so it doesn't shake back and forth it's going to break that thing off one of days love the video.
@ARuralVermonterQqjmcb18211 ай бұрын
Will do going forward
@stevencabiati146711 ай бұрын
This is absolute nonsense. The only way you’re gonna break the park gear in a transmission like that is if you throw it in park at highway speed. And that might not even break it. But I do love scrolling the comments for mechanically illiterate advice.
@stevencabiati146711 ай бұрын
Think about it. This numb skull is trying to tell you that the largest toothed gear in the entire vehicle is gonna fail before even slipping the tires. You can park the vehicle on 30%. Grade with no problem but loading a Subaru on flat ground is gonna kill it. These people are all over KZbin.
@khakiswag11 ай бұрын
The weight of the vehicle puts excessive strain on the parking pawl of a transmission if you park on hills, hence the PARKING BRAKE. Parking pawls are strictly for preventing the vehicle from moving. When loading any trailer, rig or pickup truck, the parking brake should be set for safety and the transmission.

That Volvo's lifespan is about to come to an halt, you better flip it before it breaks down or it's gonna break your wallet bro. The starter on these are very expensive and labour charges are out the world. Better get something with half million mile truck like that.
