Great sounding bass for sure but as far as my needs I can't justify such a hefty price tag. Those that can Im sure won't be disappointed though. Great bass!

That is probably the most musically versatile bass I’ve ever heard, and not in a jack of all trades master of none kind of way. It is a master of all. Absolutely amazing, and beautiful intro piece

Reminds me of the Oopegg Stormbreaker. Similar pick-up combo, short scale, cool modern/retro vibe. Not the same totally handmade approach of Castedosa, which is fully respect and appreciate, but Oopegg basses are also about $2,500.

Sure did. They make really cool stuff.!! I personally feel that Carlos is building something really special, and the feel and experience is elevated. They come in at a higher pricepoint, and that's something I felt comfortable w/ investing my personal $$ into. Serek stuff rules and Oopegg rules as well. It's a high price point for sure. My personal opinion is that they are worth every penny, but I totally get it. Carlos is building some really special instruments, they are top of the mountain... but that comes at price. Certainly doesn't diminish other builders/models that offer a great experience as well. This review might have meant more (to those who haven't the ears or the experience) if you 'weren't' so professedly invested (as a client, a friend, and business partner) in the brand and builder. Having said that, it does sound great, the use of effects not withstanding. To those with the age and ears to know it, it creates many of the sounds that have always been available to you (but little called upon) on a new RIC 4003, on rare occasion when it hasn't been dialed in to sound chronically, specifically, only, and exclusively like 'a RIC". If this 'had' been a RIC, people would be condemning it for not sounding like a P or J bass; which, again ironically, a RIC can do a fairly convincing job of. Again, rather more ironically, neither the P nor the J can return the favor by being caused to sound like a RIC.

Yes.. I do own one. Yes we do sell them. Yes Carlos is friend of mine and of the shop. That all said - his instruments are beyond compare. Truly unique against any other make or model. Rics Rule!! They are criminally underrated and oft-forgotten models. Thanks for watching - Anthony
