Are these NEW Prayers good? | OSRS God Alignments

Jagex has post a blog with another proposal for New Prayers in #osrs The God Alignments. These would add new Prayers to the existing Prayer Book, and would be added with The While Guthix Sleeps quest that will be added to OSRS later this year.

Umbras vow- Reducing opponents defence, Harmonize- applying vunerability , and Guiding strikes- increasing allies attack bonuses used together even in a 3 man team could be pretty OP. Ope take that back just saw Harmonize and Guiding strikes are incompatible together. Maybe Fumus vow as the third would make it pretty OP idk lol =S

Most of these are perks from rs3 and judging from playing both games the guthix one will be the best. The lower mix but higher min increases dps by quite a bit

I like the idea of it in general like you said, I think it would be a good idea to move forward with these prayers - nothing is entirely set in stone yet and there's room to adjust if need be. Would be really cool to implement some of these in group PvM forsure.

Kiiinda scared OSRS won't be OSRS anymore with stuff like this, I understand we want more content and what not but things like this can impact the game a lot and in different ways, positively as well as negatively. Not really sure about this one, OSRS still needs to be OSRS. Is there even an issue with the current prayers? Do we really need this? Is it necessary to the current state of the game?

Honestly none of the defensive prayers should be on the dt2 quest rewards.. all of those need to be in the guthkx or armadyl banch & they need to add something that packs a punch like a prayer that grants a higher max hits based solely on attack level or a prayer that can mitigate a few freezes etc.

I like the new prayers generally for what they are. I’m not sure the redemption prayers are really needed personally. But if we’re going to have prayers that require team coordination, we should get more group content. All there is, is raiding, gwd, wildy bosses, corp and the nightmare. I’m excited for varlamore for the new group boss. I also think the covenants of light prayers are the most underwhelming. I’d go with zaros or guthix.

It wouldn't cure your venom though. It's be very helpful to not take Venom damage until you get to the Ferox Enclave portal or something similar, but we don't know if that would be OP, since they haven't balanced it yet. What if it required too many prayer points to be worth it? That wouldn't be OP. Using Multiple prayer potions to save a little venom damage would suck. On the other hand, what if required almost 0 prayer points, that'd be way OP. It's hard to say which of these is overpowered or not, without having actual numbers

Guthix prayers are pretty good. Except I don’t like all this buffs debuffs shit it’s too wow’esque. But I do really want new prayers.

Buffs and Debuffs are already a thing in OSRS to be fair. When you Pray Piety it buffs your stats, using the Vulnerability spell on an NPC will debuff them (lowering defense). These proposed Prayers would add even more buff/debuff effects no doubt, but that's not new to the game. It's just the terminology

I completely dislike those new vows from the 'ruinous prayers'. They were supposed to be offense based. To offer an alternative for the more defence based aspects of the standard prayer book. But Glacies vow and Cruor's vow only make any sense when you have full armour on. And Fumus' vow is completely nieche since it requires 'kills' to activate. Really the only thing I was asking for is offensive boost prayers that don't give defence, nor require defence, splitting defence requirements from the prayer skill, which they did provide during leagues. Now it's fucked. Great :) I do like the covenants of light prayers though. They'll give the option for bringing learners or less geared players with you and still not suffering as much dps loss, so great for team level diversity.

True. It's definitely worth noting that when some things are added to the game, they aren't great right away, but future bosses are built around some of those mechanics to make them more useful. Like the Venator Bow being used at the Whisperer.

My clan discord is linked woth around 20ish other clans, not massive clans, some have 50 members some have 300...but, out of the 8,000ish players all in talks and who banter etc... Every1 did agree, soul split was one of the best prayers to ever come out... Turmoil was a massive bonus for the harder PvM type scenarios but agreed it shouldny be allowed to be used in wildy as its too OP... But... Soul split, aids for tanks at godwars, slayer, flicking corp beast etc...
