It is astonishing to me (as european) that walking with a Google map open on the phone targets you for crime and that smart glasses are a necessity not to get robbed. Anyway, amazing review! 👏🏼

It’s astonishing to me, as someone who pays attention to the news all over the world, that there are Europeans who pretend shit like this doesn’t happen in Europe. Paris, quite literally, fkn exists and is known for theft. London?! Amsterdam? Italy??! Poland?? Some Europeans try so hard make people in the states seem stupid and the states itself look like it’s filled with heathens and, they definitely fkn can be, but you people do it while exhibiting the exact same level of ignorance. Tell me the US has culture of stupidity that descends from Europe without telling me.
@srdjagunjic5 сағат бұрын
@@Ozzymandius1 It happens in certain cities, indeed. I am just pointing out how "you will not get robbed" is a selling point of smart glasses, i.e. how we live in fucked up world.
@MikeOBrienMedia5 сағат бұрын
I could be wrong, but hear me out. I think this applies to Europe as well. 1) these don't look like smart glasses. They don't even look like expensive glasses. 2) criminals looking to pickpocket or rob someone may prefer those who appear lost or unfamiliar with the area. Walking with Google maps open could be just that 3) when wearing the glasses, you can look at the map and still be aware of your surroundings quite easily. Just my thoughts here. Again, I could be wrong. I have no data to back the hypothesis

They kind of make you look like a crazy person when you use them if others dont know they are smart glasses. The tech is definitely improving but they still arent there yet. I hope they keep working on them!

Excellent non bias review Mike. I can imagine myself walking with my glasses on, with my phone in my pocket, smart watch in my wrist and smart ring on my finger 😅. Would that be to much?😂

Will you be continuing to use the glasses?
@MikeOBrienMedia6 сағат бұрын
Yes, after I filmed this video I actually ran into the CTO of this company at CES. I told him the controls were terrible and he said "I know" and he mentioned that the next generation is going to have significantly better controls. He also mentioned voice controls potentially coming soon, so I plan to continue using these and I'm hopeful that we'll see more features and improvements

@@MikeOBrienMedia Ay thats awesome!! I have the G1s as well and absolutely love them, so I'm glad they're already working on the next gen ones. This company really made a great product compared to other smart glasses out there.

Really like the look of them but might need a few more years to really get there. If the price point is very reasonable I might consider it but really just as a toy or gimmick at this stage. Otherwise pretty cool and nice video.

Honestly, it's hard to compare the two. They are trying to do completely different things. In many ways, these feel more like what people envision when they hear "smart glasses"

@MikeOBrienMedia It's kind of strange how we've come full circle back to what essentially is the Google Glass but in a slightly less obnoxious form factor.
