The Cartier watches, Elsa Perreti cuff, Polo shirt, Chanel ballet flats, and Dior Bar jacket have truly stood the test of time. The jury is still out on whether the other pieces will still be around 10-20 years from now. That Tory Burch dress is very cute but $2200. I didn't think her RTW was that expensive. The Altuzarra skirt- Peak Elegance 😂😂😂😂.

I have a video idea / suggestion. I'd love to see a video on brands & items that are not luxury, but can have the vibe of one. For example Polo Ralph Lauren as it's a classic and most likely when styled well will look awesome. Plus a visit to the AWESOME store could look good on video because they sure know how to design a store. Or Levi's! As for jeans, 501's are a classic too, despite not being a luxury item. Adidas sneakers were especially hot few summers ago etc. I think this could make a fun video and with visits to all of their NYC flagship stores it might be rather interesting!

Yes Elsa Perretti cuff! Great Bally cap, love Polo, white shirts are a must for me too. Agree the Hermes tote is plain. Also have a *very* similar tote from a local artisan. I haul it everywhere. It's practical, light(weight matters in a tote) holds many bulky items items. Totes can get scuffed up if you fill them and set them down a lot. I'd get a sturdy leather tote at a local tannery or artisan fair for much less and get pretty Hermes scarves or jewelry instead. Love Alaia and the Cartier Panthere❤

Might be giving away too much here, but the luxury investment pieces for me are the classics I can find new/unused on the 2nd hand market when they are considered "boring" - and I'm set when they are back/people reach for them again: i.e. OG/classic Bottega, OG Mulberry Bayswater, 80's/90's Chanel, any calf, no bow/Vara Ferragamo bag/shoe, or even simple quality bags from Row, Loewe, Celine... and IMO, jewelry is always a safer investment, as long as it's good quality fine jewelry (which doesn't mean it has to come from a brand... probably better investment if it doesn't unless you're looking to really $pend).

The Chanel black/tan ballet flats are one of the only luxury items I've had to throw away after a few years of wear. The trim eventually got dirty and despite trying multiple cleaning methods (professional included) they just never looked right and I tossed them. I still love them but I think my black/black pair was a smarter choice for me. I think if I rebought them now I would take much better care of them than I did at college age. Lesson learned.

As a die hard for my RIMOWA aluminum trunks, I think people exaggerate the dents! Have had my trunk and trunk plus for over two years, over 14 flights no significant denting that truly affects the luggage! Long haul flights with transfers included! Sure it’s not for the perfectionist, but finding a quality trunk shaped check in luggage with locks (not zippers - I’ve had too many theft experiences!!) is actually harder than you’d think.
