Great comparison video, I think the prismacolors looked more vibrant and better quality but I think I would get the Zenacolors and try them out for that price! Would love to see the other comparisons you mentioned 😊

This was a cool comparison, I didn’t know that Zenacolor had a big set (I only have some of their watercolour pencils which I got in a mystery box) For dupes they look pretty good!! If I wasn’t so biased for the polychromos I would try them out, especially considering the price of Prismacolors these days lol

Thanks!! I hadn't tried any Zenacolor products before, so it was pretty interesting to try them out. I guess I'm not so biased with Prismacolor pencils! If they were up against Polychromos on the other hand, that would be another story!!

I have a lot of top grade colored pencils collected during the years and i tested the majority of brands in the market . I think nothing came close to prismacolor ... the only one with the same blend-ability and feel are the luminance by caran d'ache, but they are very expensive and they will remove all the defects of primacolors too basically : so you get same blendability , amazing vibrant colors , ultra opaque colors , no blooms like on prisma , no breakage like in the last mexican prismacolors . There are other top brands of pencils but they are different and they have a different feel . Polychromos by Faber Castell are much more expensive, overall better quality and more light fast, but they are oil based very different feel . Derwent offer other colored pencils, some wax based, but they are more chalky and still more expensive than prismacolors . Other artist grade brands are pretty much all oil-based because the tip break less often , no wax bloom etc but you need to change your technique when you use them , because they don't blend in the same way as prisma .... you need to work more in layers. In conclusion : especially if you live in USA you should just use prismas cuz they are really cheap in you country , they are deal in comparison to other professional grade supplies as well. They give you this special blend-ability that you find only in much more expensive pencils . The price is justified by was bloom , tip breakage and some colors are not lightfast but it's a trade off for the price . If you live in europe instead prismas are expensive as much other pro-brand and are less convenient but you pay export taxes mainly ... so probably you just want to use something oil-based.

personally i've been using the zenacolor 120 set for about 2-3 years now and i was thinking about getting a different brand. can you recommend any brands?

I love my Faber Castell pencils, so would recommend them. They are a harder core pencil, so may take a little getting used to
