Are they good skellies boys, yes they are. Absolute trash units in the very best sense. They're not here to kill but to bog down everything throw their way. They are the very best meatshields of the game. No upkeep, utterly free, recruitable by the boatload and silver shielded. Any kill these guy may inflict is just icing on a purely tanking cake.

Sometimes the damage they do is decent purely in the sense of something they can do damage to blundering into reach.

I mean, they'll beat peasants, skaven slaves, and (non-Ghorst) zombies at least. Honestly the best part being completely free is that they'll technically always outvalue whatever they're in combat with!

Every unit deserves its time in the sun. They are the quintessential meatshield (or boneshield), low tier unit of the faction. I did not realize that Skeletal Warriors had a silver shield. Very impressive. In general, it's hard to complain about the units that were designed to be the tarpit. I hope that CA will add a little bit of variety to the faction to make its infantry a little bit more versatile.

Ah you didn't realize it? Probably because the Vampire Counts version DOES NOT, it's just the Tomb Kings one? I'm going to do videos on the RoR's (finished some scripts overnight), there are things even I didn't realize hidden in there. Lot of that lately, which makes it fun for me.

@@OffToBattle can you do the Carrion. It seems like everybody hates the unit, and yet stats wise it should be at least decent. I know that you don't usually do this, but I would be interested to hear your input on why the unit is underperforming and what can be done to improve it.

Love these guys. Fire them and forget them while you figure out your win condition. Between Lore of Nehek passive and Realm of Souls, there isn't any need to baby them.

Yeah, and that roster has a lot of 'micro tax' units overall I find. The ones you baby less are valuable for even just that reason alone.

I've sarcastically referred to these guys as undead Ungors with shields, and that holds. Their stats are miserable aside from being undead, being free, and that Silver Shield. It's just that those 3 traits turn it from being literally a speed bump to one of the best chaff units in the game. They aren't going to hold forever, they aren't going to kill anything except for low and mid teir cav, but they don't have to. They just exist long enough for you to get your arrows out, your chariots into the archers, and your constructs into place.

I realize this is apropos of nothing, but this focus made me pick a LL I never have before so I went with Khlaida. Can I ask why people seem to hate her campaign so much? I kind of am enjoying the immersion of being an angry immortal who just really wants to rid the world of vampires. I feel like MummyBlade.

Among other things, her fated rival isn't in the game yet, she's surrounded by formidable legendary lords and Thorek's only become more powerful, she has difficult access to some nice desert settlements Settra has access to (but mind: he has to fight for them and to keep them), Tomb Kings not confederating means she can't ally with Settra long term even though they have zero reason to be enemies per se (the Aranessa problem, people hate the lore side)... and they don't think her mechanics are worth anything. Well having mained her in TWW2 (when I was doing Tomb Kings, at least) I vehemently argue against that last part. Also the homing rework makes her staff better. And it's only now that I'm truly understanding the breadth of what you can do with the crafting system... in no small part because the Wiki is garbage on that issue! Half the entries are missing! ^^; I sense a video to remedy that.

They're trash, but that's the point. Not only do they die, and that's good, they're rather ranged resistant too and there are a lot of them, so if forced to shoot at them, the foe is wasting ammo.

Missile resistance and missile block chance are separate things, and these skelly boys won’t have 70% missile resistance.

Yep, even if shooting from the front, that extra missile res will result in 38% of the damage getting through, not 30%. But eh if it's flanking fire or artillery-grade fire, it gets to activate in full

I know they're separate things, but calculating an Effective Missile Resistance or Effective Missile Block Chance would bore people to tears, and at any rate, 15% resistance on top of 55% outright block is a positive. I'll live with it not being an exact figure. (And that's so to speak not the Expendable trait..)

@@samarkand1585 (not sarcasm) Thanks for the math. I knew better but I obviously didn't stop to do the exact calculation when writing the script, but for anyone who wants to know, this is great. Still amazing value considering the expendable nature of the unit.
