The most ironic thing is that they sell the idea of a traditional, stay at home wife and mom and a working husband but they are making what I’m sure is not a small amount of money off of the content they’re creating so they ARE working and earning while telling others women not to

I think there are people in the comments who are missing the point. A lot of these women are not actually housewives. They are influencers who claim to be traditional women, but are making a lot of money in a very modern way. They know what to say, how to dress, and how to present a lifestyle that gets men dreaming about having a woman 'like' them. The problem isn't being a housewife, it's portraying it in a very unrealistic way.

Surely feminism is about being able to make choices about how we live our lives. Why is it wrong that these women choose to be a home maker and stay at home mother. Children generally do better when they have a parent at home. If that's how they want to live, leave them to it. This is not a bad way to live.

Thats not what they are saying though and its not looking down on anyone who wants or is able to stay at home and be "wife and mother",its the unrealistic glamourisations of it that they are pointing out. Many women or indeed men would like to be a stay at home parent or partner but cannot afford to be and many women want to work and be financially independent.

That’s not the issue … no one is looking down on them. It’s the factitious lie that they perpetuate on how homemaking is. And for trad wives it’s been my experince that they look down on working wives/moms. If you want to be a trad wife awesome go for it but then don’t turn around and demean another woman’s choice of being a working wife/mom. And yes that goes vice versa. A lot of traditional wives get divorced @40-60. They made their life all about kids and hubby with nothing for themselves. Being a mom is an amazing job so is a wife but just be smart. And these clips don’t portray that.

I wish it was easier to live from one salary/household in our economy. I believe many women would coose to be a homemaker and stay at home mum if it was more feasible. Parenting is the most important job in the world and I wish our society saw it as so.

I am not surprised that once again someone who is meant to be working with vulnerable people is showing themselves up online. It is no wonder that a lot of people no longer trust the likes of you. Surely, the choices made by any family is because of financial circumstances. If a family can afford to have one partner bring up a family without the need to go to work - then that's fine. I love the way the whole panel assume that it is the woman who is brining up the family! I know of two divorced men who are bringing up a family on thier own. One has 4 children, after his wife left him for another man, she also left the children - he has no option but to work and is doing teh best he can. The other man, again is bringing up his children and luckily, works from home, so he is there most of the time. Please give the men who bring up children on thier own a thought.

Thanks to feminism, everyone is feee to live their life according to their choices. Feninism brought us that freedom. Those very freedoms also enable women to be influencers. Traditional wives are not condemned. We just know a traditional wife who does not work is at risk of abuse if they stay and poverty if they leave. Trad -wife influencers however are not really traditional wives since they earn income following a career as influencer. Being an influencer IS A CAREER PATH. And that is why people get irritated. Trad wife influencers are career women, pretending to be traditional women who do not earn income and is totally dependent on their husbands while focussing all their time and energy kn home making and parenting and community service
