I am a little bit worried about nintendo, even though I think they are in a pretty good position right now. If the switch 2 is just iterative and nothing new, i think nintendo might need to do something a little more interesting with the switch 2 in the future to increase its chances of success later down the line. I think the switch 2 will be a good launch but it could come into some problems when all these newer handhelds come to market in a few years.

Switch didn't have Bluetooth accessible for years and the ability was always there.

Nintendo and Sega actually sparked the "console wars."

The Switch and Steam Deck prove that power isn't what's selling hardware. The cost to make powerful handhelds is sitting at 900 from Intel and Asus. I can't see them or Sony subsidizing 400.00 for every handheld sold. The next Switch won't be 300.00 either.

Xbox has the Logitech G cloud and that came out 2 years ago. It’s not great but it dose exist.

If they partner with Steam, why are they even needed in the market? They already said that they wanted all storefronts on their next hardware. Steam/Valve is also Linux focused, and that to me is a conflict in interest.

Microsoft and XBox both have the challenge of having 1st party content to drive their handhelds. PlayStation failed because they didn't have any during the PSP/Vita eras. XBox needs something that's perfect for mobile as well. People will buy Nintendos on Pokemon alone.

Sony can't stop selling games on PC because they don't sell enough on their console. They don't really care about exclusivity anymore, but they do care about perception. They'll take the sales from Steam and Epic with a smile. They'd do the XBox app too if it wouldn't affect perception. Nintendo is the only one that can afford exclusivity.
