I'm 71 years old and live alone. I live on my Social Security retirement check. At first it was different being home all of the time. I did get depressed time to time. But now I'm loving it. I can do whatever I want and go where I want. I can sleep in if I want. I may be in the low income bracket but I feel more blessed. One reason being is because I appreciate that God has blessed me with so much. I don't take things for granted any more. I may have to watch my pennies but that's okay also. I know that God will meet my needs.

We get meat and chicken that is at a lower price too. We don't get food stamps. So we have to stretch our packages. For example, if I get packages of chicken drumsticks. I split it in 3 or 4 meals for the 4 of us.

I was really enjoying the scenery on the drive & then suddenly had a heart attack when you turned a corner & I focused on the actual road. They wanted $12.49 a dozen at Stater Brothers market last week in Southern California! I give my little fur baby (doggie) a scrambled egg as a treat now and then. I had to let him know he had to wait till prices went down. He wasn’t happy about that 😂

I do the same with stocking up items especially pantry items. I like knowing I have it on hand for future use. I haven't written a check in years! All my transactions are via bank card or credit card. The majority are online bill payments.

We never truly own anything. Even when it's paid off. We still have to pay those taxes. We also have to pay personnel property tax on vehicles, campers, etc. They take so much ìn taxes and insurance for everything. Health insurance is so crazy nowadays. Can Glen be put on yours?

Eggs here in north central Pennsylvania at walmart are 21.00 for 60 eggs and at weis market a 30 count are 17.00

My hubby and I just signed up for Medicare last week. And we had to wait to sign my hubby up till he was 66. Because I just turned 65 the end of September. And we couldn't afford to have me have our private health insurance. And him have Medicare and a supplement insurance. So we just signed up and my hubby has to pay a 10% penalty per month for part B. Which pays for doctors. The part A is free, that only pays 80% of hospital stays. So his with the 10% penalty will be 203.00 and mine will be 186.00 a month. Then whatever our supplemental insurance will be. That will pay everything that the Medicare doesn't pay. And we signed my hubby up for his social security too. And we will both continue working our full time jobs too. After the last 4 years of health problems. My hubby having 9 major eye surgeries and me having breast cancer with a double mastectomy 2 years ago. We can't be without medical insurance.

We had to pay taxes in Nov. It's a part of life. We get an exempt here in Florida We use our refund& add to it. Gonna be tough next year.🙏🧚‍♀️🌴

I love how your so thankful for what you have that's how we all should live, We had ti sell our home because if my hubby of 59 year health and I love our homestead from just was ti hard for us to keep up we spend 17 years up in north Michigan winters we hard but we just stay home and enjoy watch wild life in our yard and we had fireplace and enjoy sitting in our warm home, but for almost they last three years we live near our three grown children in a very nice apartment which has no steps and attach garage for those cold and we really don't out in any kind of snow but we go to church and grocery shop my rides around help pick out food and he loved his sweets but at 81 I feel he should eat what he enjoys.

My taxes are due 2/1. Ugh! I pay property taxes quarterly and can pay on line. We also get a 10 day grace period. Smart to get that pork shoulder on sale! Free Oreos!!! WooHoo! 😊

In our City Hall, we have to walk through a metal detector. It's like at the airport where you have to empty your pockets and put in a plastic box and then walk through.

If you own a home you have property taxes they come around about the same time every year something you need to plan for. My mortgageis is paid off so I set money aside for this. The same thing happened with my sister the bank wasn't taking enough out and putting in escrow for the year so she went and paid the difference
