friends with benefits can be excellent as long as you set your boundaries, are open, and are honest. respect goes both ways. don’t do things that you wouldn’t want your fwb to do. if something bothers you, decide if it is a dealbreaker or not. if it’s not then probably don’t make a big deal about it. if it is a big deal then decide to talk about it or not. if you talk about it and they don’t change and you still hook up with them, then that’s on you for accepting them and their behavior.

Some people just don't operate like that. For me it's a matter of not being in a place in life where I want a committed relationship and having a mutual understanding about that with people I talk to. All that being said it can be really nice having a fwb without the pressures of a relationship. My main one just got out of a messy engagement, so it's been pretty harmonious in terms of where we're both at. If you know you're gonna get attached tho, I wouldn't recommend lol.

@JENNA BLASCO To me a relationship implies a higher degree of investment in another person whether that be emotionally, your time, and/or generally changing how you live your life. Depending on your circumstances these might not be commitments that you are willing and/or able to give to someone at that point in time or its a matter of disposition. Or if your point is more so that people call their arrangements however they want to, I guess that's generally true. However, I think when most people are talking about romantic arrangements the metric is usually the degree of commitment expected. For instance when I told my friend about my current fwb, in his opinion he thought we were more like a couple. But if you asked either of us if we were in a relationship or dating, I think we'd both say no.

Before the full crowd of "omg these people are so immature" couch psychologist show up, pay attention to the way they answered the question of whether the relationship could be long term. Across the board theres a clear, cogent understanding of why things can't work, but still some hopes that they might eventually for some people. I didn't expect to feel like I'm going to cry when I originally clicked on this. This makes me miss how things were with my ex so much. We remained friends with benefits for a long time even after getting out of an actual relationship. We messaged each other recently, we talked about meeting up, but they're in a relationship. Hell they're engaged to this girl that they're been with since 2017 now. I haven't seen them in person since June 2016. I keep thinking about them, I want to see them, I want to hook up with them so badly, but I just wish the fiancé wasn't in the picture. I'd feel bad if I went to hook up with them knowing that they have a fiancé. But sometimes my selfish urge to see them over powers me caring about them having a fiancé. Thank God they live kinda far and I don't drive because otherwise I'm sure I would've seen them by now. I know that if I do meet up with them though that I'm going to feel like shit afterwards. I don't know why I bothered to type this. I just don't have anyone to talk to about this and fuck it hurts.

Friends with benefits are awesome! I've had sex with friends I've known for a long time, I've continued being friends with people I used to date, many friendships don't have any kind of sexual tension at all. And all of those options are great. There are countless ways to create bonds with people. Many people have told me that it's confusing because you have to talk about your rules and boundaries. But, to me, that's something we should talk about with every person we're connected to. Many disagreements in couples appear because two people take for granted a "rule" and turns out they both had a different conception of it.

Being IN** a Relationship can mean different things. Define what type/style of relationship you desire. You can be COMMITTED to all styles of relationship; Monogamy (exclusive), Non-monogamy, Friendship/Platonic, FWB, Casual, polyamory, romantic, free & so on. It's not because some of these people are defining their relationships as FWB, while having love for each other, necessarily means they have "commitment issues". Commitment issue should be - not being able to maintain any types of relationships. Be honest with self. And with your partner(s). What never changes is change. Relationships can evolve, grow, devolve, die. Vice versa. I just find it weird to name it FWB.. if the Commitment to friendship isn't there. But ey.. these are just words & labels.

In theory, Friends with Benefits should be emotionless; there shouldn't be any care about the other seeing someone else, as the appeal to the arrangement is that it's non-commital sex on tap. I don't think anyone in this video fits that category; they all look a little squirmy and willing/eager to keep dibs on the other, or at least already have some one-sided attachment. One-night stands don't cause these issues, but regularly occuring sex with the same person could/does create a bonding experience. I mean you're sharing eye-contact and sweat; kissing with tongue releases oxytocin, which makes people feel attachment and affection; dopamine is released when kissing... Essentially, you're creating an environment that your body/brain will associate with euphoric feelings, all stemming from one specific person. It's biology. The only way an arrangement like this would work without the attachment is to have a FWB that you don't like much but is hot.

The girl with the suns on her top is so fucking naive lmao. It's like she's actively denying to accept that this relationship isn't going anywhere because he's simply leading her on. But she loves the dude too much to care. Weird situation ngl.

I was that girl once. Walking away from someone you love who will never quite love you in the same way is so hard and ultimately heart breaking.

i feel like at some point she will walk away and move on from him because her just waiting around ain't it and watch him wanting to make it official once he realizes its too late cause shes in a relationship with someone else lol the ones with commitment issues are always like that, when they see you move on they suddenly want you

@@MissBlueEyeliner that's one of the very few bright sides of growing up, eventually you just see it coming and leave before it hurts too bad

I think saying your in love with someone but have commitment issues is a cop out, I see it as someone is just waiting for the better thing to come by if you’re really in love with someone you would be with them

Look, I'm not in a relationship right now. Maybe in the long run it could happen. But it seems that some of these people are not on the same page. To me it's either you want to be serious or casual. You want to be together or you don't. Also is this a repost?
