508 views with only 124 likes come on people what's wrong with you start hitting that like button. These kiddos deserve the love. Michaela said the most beautiful thing that will keep her going is us people and our comments that we watch their videos. What a beautiful sweet spirit. It's so obvious we can see the love that you share between one another and I hope and pray that that continues to grow even stronger day by day. I also love the fact that you do not set everything in concrete that you have to be here by a certain day and you got to leave there by a certain day understandable if you're dealing with bad weather but to me living a lifestyle like you're living should try and make it as enjoyable as it should be and just take it day by day. God bless thank you and stay safe out there

Thank you so much Kris! It's true! Even on our sail the past two days we turned the internet on so we could read the comments as we were 25 miles off shore getting through our sail :) Every time we move the boat it gets easier and easier and the more flexible we get with dates the better of a time we have! Thank you so much for being here with us, it really means the world ❤🎉⛵

You guys are so much fun to watch. Not only are you so positive, but it's so refreshing seeing a living on a boat channel where the people are as clueless as I am, and they just go on and try to figure things out and learn as they go. It has always been my dream to live on a boat, but I'm too locked into life at my age (40s), so I live the life through you guys. :) Perhaps when I retire I can get a boat? Who knows?

Sometimes getting married young works out but I will tell you it can and usually is very hard work to keep it going.. Love yr channel. So happy that you have support from people as a relatively new sailing channel. Have watched some newer channels that just get shot down from the start but always see you getting advice and taking it on board. Think your openness and personalities have helped. Haha dial down the hotdogs. Asked my hubby the hotdog question - yip he also made reference to an intervention. Enjoy the hotdogs until you don’t

Married at 18 & 19 was interesting. My wife and I married at 21. She had finished a 2 year RN college and I didn’t go to college until I was 26 and graduated at 30. That said, my wife and I always worked at good jobs. 39 years later we’re still married. It’s not always great, but I can’t imagine being married to anyone else. I think it’s more important that you take marriage seriously before marrying than worrying about an age. Now about to retire we own a beautiful 40 acre hobby farm mostly devoted to 3 horses and the wildlife. According to our stock broker we’re in the top 1.5% of retirees for savings and everything we own is paid off. So you can get there if you marry young, but by 25 you’d better agree on where you want to be at retirement. PS: we have two children that are both doing wonderful and a beautiful grandson. We did wait 10 years after marriage to have children.

What an amazing story! Thank you so much for sharing it with us. Not going to lie, something like a 40 acre hobby farm is something we also talk about for our future! It doesn't always work out, but we are so glad that we married young and think it is very cool that we were able to literally grow up together. We are very different people than when we met, but are so happy and proud of how far we have been able to come. We really appreciate you sharing and being here with us on this journey 😊❤🎉

Skip the Chesapeake Bay, go south to Grenada!! It's where everyone goes. The Hurricane belt is about 20 miles north, and your Insurance company would allow it...pretty sure. If you choose Grenada, you have about a month to get there. July thru November is the hurricane season, where your Insurance won't like it if you are in the zone, but Grenada is south out of the zone.

Great episode! For provisioning advice The Boat Galley is good. The one thing I don't like about it is her reliance on processed and canned food. They have a monohull. Catamarans need to keep it light. Think about attending the Annapolis boat show in October. It's over Columbus Day.

@@patrickandmichaela, easy. Anchor out. There are lots of places for a cat to anchor. Get there a few days ahead of time. We're members of the SSCA (Seven Seas Cruising Association). They have a get together (GAM) the weekend before the boat show. It's usually in Rhodes River, a short distance from Annapolis. Then go to Annapolis. You'll meet a lot of other cruisers. WWS usually has a get together. There are tons of things for boats and you can get really good deals. We bought our boat in October and a week later flew up to Annapolis. I had a five page list of things we needed, from an anchor to a stove and sails. I got discounts on almost everything. Buy your tickets online. There's a dinghy dock at the harbor master's, and you can receive mail there.

Yes! I would say that some aspects of living a very nomadic life can cause some lack of community and routine. We have met so much amazing community everywhere that we have been though as the sailing community has been fantastic and so welcoming, so that has helped a lot. I would say we are still very spiritual people but have moved away from going to specific churches every Sunday 😊

It's nice to get to know you a little more. Just some unsolicited advice. Meal planning. Just start with three days at a time. Stick to it though if your goal is lifestyle eating change. Include snacks. As for adventures. When I met my wife I said marry me and I will take you Places. I just didn't tell her she would have to drive. We spent 17 years driving Team, through North America in an 18 wheeler. Trust is priority. Adventures? Throw fear and common sense into the wind and see what happens. What is the worst that could go wrong. Figure it out. And you two have done that.

We also try to catch some of the channels we get recommended that are just getting started, love supporting others who are on this journey :) Once in a while we catch some of the bigger productions but that is more when we are looking for something stunning! Thanks so much for joining us another week

You guys have some incredibly mature answers to some questions that many seasoned cruisers have problems with. I guarantee you that this sailing journey will be one of your greatest life adventures as long as you keep the right attitude. I have been boating/sailing/cruising for most of my 61 years on this planet. I still get seasick at times, but I just deal with it, because i know there is a reward at the end. I get butterflies at the untying of the lines at the beginning of a trip, but I can't wait for it to start. I worry when storms and weather are imminent, but I take solace in my vessel and my preparation. Absorb every emotion and thoroughly experience every location to its fullest, they are what makes the cruising life worth the blood, sweat and tears. Hope to see you on the water some day.

We love your perspective so much, thank you for sharing it! We could not agree more. This life is filled with high highs and low lows, but no matter what it is going to be a crazy adventure. It really is something that pulls you into the moment and makes you feel all of those emotions that are present. It definitely seems like it will all be worth it

Having lived and sailed for many years and since covid find ourselves caught up in family and land life; look forward to getting back out there - taking things slow is the a life style and wow you are so mature and come cross as very sensitive yet strong; great characteristics to have for navigating life ups and downs. I see myself in you. My boat will not be in the water before the fall of 2025. I'll be tooling around in the Chesapeake Bay when that happens. There's nothing wrong with banana bread, or hot dogs, as long as they are part of a balanced diet.

😂 Glad you enjoyed the hotdog styled improv 😂 I would say it depends on how rainy / humid it is. Usually the deck is pretty damp in the morning from dew and such, but as long as their is wind keeping the air flowing inside things don't seem to get too bad dampness wise :)

Thank you for answering my questions! When it's time to make your way to the Chesapeake Bay, do as much research as you can about Cape Hatteras. It's traditionally a very rough passage. Having a 3rd person on board may be beneficial depending on your findings.

Thank you so much for the tip! We have spent a bunch of time researching Cape Hatteras! We are actually a very good ICW boat with a Mast Height of only 50 feet, so we are likely going to take the ICW route through that portion to avoid the chaos!

Yaayy! Another video! Great to hear more about the people behind the channel. Interesting to get to know you both a bit better and hear more about the behind the scenes as well. Good to read that you're contemplating a visit to the Med in the future, do try to get across for the early spring so you can spend summer there as Med sunsets are stunning and the coastlines are beautiful. Only attempt going further north to the English Channel once you have some years of experience under your belt as it's chock full of pleasure craft, ferries, cruise liners, container ships heading to Felixstowe, Zeebrugge etc etc, and not to mention all the warships that go through the channel. The funny thing about the hot dogs, is that it genuinely won't matter how many either of you eat ... as they'd only end up being bait for fish anyway lol
@patrickandmichaela

So glad we were able to share a little more about us! Will definitely try to get a summer in the med, it seems like it would be so incredible. Thanks for the info about the English Channel! @@patrickandmichaela A summer in the Med will be quite the experience. Just do brush up on getting visas for the EU where you're sailing between countries but might remain in national rather than international waters - The EU only allows a max stay of 90 days per 180 day period so you need to be careful not to overstay. The channel is horrendous lol I've only been across on passenger ferries and there were constantly boats/ships crossing each others paths. Made me grateful to be on such large ships in a place like that 😉So if you do decide to brave it one day then use a passenger ferry as a chaperone lol And always happy to be here. As said at the start I appreciate seeing how your skills are developing over time and what sort of issues you're coming across. Makes me all the wiser for if I get a boat of my own.

Luv your channel guys. I'm a physical security specialist & navigator trained in the Navy, Have you given thought how to protect yourselves if something should happen, i.e. pirates etc. I can neither confirm nor deny i have a weapon on my boat whenever I go out. Hey Friend! It was posted on the screen that the asking price for the vessel was 110k USD. We want to get more into the finances aspect shortly, probably a bit after our boat tour since we have around 6 months of cruising under our belt so have a bit better idea of what things are costing. Appreciate you being here, and don't mean to disappoint, but it was actually a bit of a complicated transaction and since no one directly asked for the price in our pre Q/A engagements we didn't want to go on the tangent of the full cost breakdown 🙂 Thanks for watching!
