I love Gracie's pup, and hope Grader is feeling better. I bet Sam is super happy seeing his parts bringing Landon's sand rail together. The only thing I keep thinking of is putting some tubing around the rear of the transmission to protect it in case it gets bumped or bashed hard. It would also help to have proper tow points on each of the rails as well as have lights so you can go wheeling at night. It sure is good to see all hands on deck, Hunter's facial expressions are hilarious! Thanks for the great editing and for taking us along.

About 15 years ago a friend drove an old bug and it needed a new transmission. I grew up working on VWs but I had never done a transmission before but figured it couldn’t be too hard. After I pulled the motor and trans, I realized that the axles were different so I put the old axles on the new trans and put everything back together. I cleared a path down the driveway and climbed in and started the bug and to my surprise, I had 4 reverse gears and one forward. Super easy mistake! I just put the pinion gear on the wrong side. Lesson learned.

When Volkswagen made the VW bus, they added reduction gears on the outside of the axles. When they did this, it caused the wheels to run backwards. To correct this the ring gear in the differential is flipped to the other side of the pinion and that allows the tranny to be reversed.

Short mention of the cows and Paul says, "I like how they taste." I have to admit I laughed too hard at that.

Sometimes the 'sit and stare' occurs mid-project. For me it most often occurs at the very beginning of a project. When I get home, I retreat to the 'project-land' then I sit on any available 5-gallon bucket and stare! - trying to imagine-eer what I am going to do. I make a list of the most obviously needed parts and tools. I gather them up and then I sit and stare again. Like a cliff high-diver checking the wind etc. before commiting to the 400 ft dive. My wife has learned that I am 'reachable' prior to the dive. After the dive, I am again reachable when I come up for 'air". Probably weird, but it is my way.

Million Dollars worth of Sand Rails right there, lol. For next year, You need to take one, wrap it up & get a set of Heavy D's tracks & make it a snow rig. I think Jace will be playing for awhile longer, He has Hops & Skills. Does Gracie get one ? Look forward to how much fun y'all will have in Glamis. Ty for taking us along
