I. Overview: Change
A. Sinners Must Be Converted, born again
B. Mt 18:3 and said, “Truly I say to you, unless you are converted and become like children, you will not enter the kingdom of heaven.
C. Jn 3:3 Jesus answered and said to him, “Truly, truly, I say to you, unless one is born again he cannot see the kingdom of God.”
D. 1 Pe 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,
1. 1 Pe 1:23 for you have been born again not of seed which is perishable but imperishable, that is, through the living and enduring word of God.
II. Faith Only?
A. Jn 5:24 “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life.
2. Jn 6:47 “Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes has eternal life.
B. Ro 3:28 For we maintain that a man is justified by faith apart from works of the Law.
C. Faith in truth of Jesus, not just identity

4. Jn 8:31-32 So Jesus was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, “If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; 32and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.”
D. Faith includes word abiding in you
5. Jn 5:38 “You do not have His word abiding in you, for you do not believe Him whom He sent.
III. Faith In Word Causes You to Repent
A. Mk 1:14-15 Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of God, 15and saying, “The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent and believe in the gospel.”
B. Ac 3:19 “Therefore repent and return, so that your sins may be wiped away, in order that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord;
6. Ac 17:30 “Therefore having overlooked the times of ignorance, God is now declaring to men that all people everywhere should repent,
IV. Following Jesus Must Be Made Public
A. Mt 10:32-33 “Therefore everyone who confesses Me before men, I will also confess him before My Father who is in heaven. 33“But whoever denies Me before men, I will also deny him before My Father who is in heaven.
B. Ro 10:9-10 that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved; 10for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.
V. Baptism Is the Point Believer Meets Christ
A. Mk 16:16 “He who has believed and has been baptized shall be saved; but he who has disbelieved shall be condemned.

B. Ac 2:38 Peter said to them, “Repent, and each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

D. Baptism is moment of forgiveness
16. B. Faith and obedience

18. Ro 16:26 but now is manifested, and by the Scriptures of the prophets, according to the commandment of the eternal God, has been made known to all the nations, leading to obedience of faith;
