The years that Brees was 2nd team All Pro (runner up for MVP) he came in 2nd to Ladanian Tomlinson in 2006, Peyton Manning in 2009, Aaron Rodgers in 2011, & Patrick Mahomes in 2018. Now you could argue he’s had more MVP quality seasons than that but record does matter too, they don’t usually give MVPs to QBs who are 8-8. Look at the stats & wins of the people who won MVP the years Brees had an incredible season & you realize that another player had almost as impressive or a more impressive season for stats with more wins usually. Brees kind of just got unlucky

It's crazy to me how they keep saying the MVP is an individual award, yet they also say the team isn't good enough for Burrow to win the MVP.. It doesn't make any sense.
