Great video! You nailed the essentials with no errors. Btw, coming from a 2021 BMW X7 M50i and a 2015 Mercedes GL550 before that, our family prefers the V8 powered 2023 Jeep GC L Summit Reserve which we currently own for several reasons. The Palermo leather seats with massage function are terrific. (Massage in name only with the German vehicles-they’re pitiful). Night vision for the deer in Pennsylvania is so nice as they are highlighted in yellow. McIntosh audio system is superb, especially if you like the bass on the heavy side like we do. Getting in and out of the third row was a nightmare on the X7. Press the wrong button and you have to wait for the cycle to finish; reset; and press the correct button. Try that with kids waiting. Just give us a top seat lever like the Jeep. The” droid” head rests on the Merc were so inconvenient. Love the Jeep designed ones with electric flip down if necessary. Air ride is excellent although not as smooth as the X7. That being said, we love how the Jeep lowers automatically when shifted into park for my 80 year old dad to exit or enter. Had to do this manually every time on the Bimmer. Fam cam is awesome to watch the kids in the back. Wireless phone charger is so much better than the one in the X7. It hardly charged our iPhones in the Bimmer. Phone connectivity with the app is so much better than the German product but still way behind our Tesla connectivity which shows real time live events on the Tesla app. Things we miss…. heated and cooled cup holders and soft close doors that our German vehicles had. The rear luggage room with the third seats UP is much better than the German vehicles we owned. This is important with a trip to the beach and all seats occupied. We also drove the six cylinder version of the Jeep GC L and it was dismal at best. Would not own a six cylinder version of this model. Our biggest concern? Reliability. Fortunately Jeep gives you three years bumper to bumper plus free oil changes with Jeep wave product. Plus a dealership is three minutes from our house. We bought our 2023 Jeep used with 3900 miles on it and it has had three recalls and a wheel bearing replacement. Fortunately they were all covered. We now have 11,000 miles on it. Overall we are extremely satisfied with it. We receive quite a few compliments on the look of it with the white color and black top. Our GL550 received even more compliments though with the lunar blue metallic paint and chrome accents. Hard to beat that look. Hope this helps and keep up the great work with your vids.
@k4pp3done35 ай бұрын
Going to have to agree to all. I had an X7 for several months and it's going to be hard to beat that ride. Might have been one of the best, honestly thought it was better than the GL personally. The folding the seats down is too funny, might actually be the slowest thing I've ever used. 100% you need the hemi, the 3.6 is a dog compared. Also couldn't agree more that the Jeep dealership I use has also been more than accommodating. Any time my truck has gone in for anything but an oil change, they had a loaner car waiting for me. Funny you mention soft close doors, because I had that on a couple others and aside from the fact that LITERALLY no one else ever uses them, I really enjoyed that feature. I found myself asking people not to slam the doors at first, but it never lasted. Nothing feels as premium as closing a door softly and letting it suck shut, especially when the kid is sleeping in the car seat. That said, I think the best part about the jeep compared to luxury brands is that it functions perfectly as my do everything family truck. I'm not so worried about the interior getting scratched or whatever. I've got two kids now and if i decide to load it up with snowboards, bikes, kids spill stuff and climb over everything, drive it over the beach, whatever. It's just a Jeep, does jeep things. That's it, that's all.
@itshadoukenАй бұрын
You should try a 2023 X7, the tech blows this Jeep out of the water and you get a lot of features at base that are costly add-ons for Jeep GC. $946 to get window shades on the Jeep 😂 by the time I was done optioning all the features it was $90k. Nuts for Jeep level build quality.
@jb.2986Ай бұрын
@ Thanks for the reply. We wanted to like the newer X7’s after our 2021 but had the same issues with technology. Plus its fascia is just downright ugly in our opinion. The Griswold family truckster front end comes to mind from the movie Vacation. . 😂
@itshadoukenАй бұрын
@ having ridden in both, you gotta be on something to think the Jeep is even in the same class as the X7. Ride quality is soooo much better in the X7, parts and materials as well. Jeep is chunky plastic, tiny slow screens, 2nd and 3rd rows are cramped by comparison, the front seats also feel more cramped. The X7 feels big and open, Jeep GC is like being in a low ceiling basement. Agree it looks cooler, at least the new two tones but I don’t mind the X7 it’s a 3-row SUV, none are that good looking IMO. “Same issues with technology” confused by what that means. Maybe you like a Honda Pilot or a Telluride, both feel more premium that the GC
@jb.2986Ай бұрын
@@itshadouken no need to get defensive. Our experience is the opposite as per our post above. Again we have had the X7 and the Mercedes GL 550. The ride is slightly better in the X7 and very smooth in the Mercedes. The Jeep,s ride quality is very good although slightly under the X7 and Mercedes. However the Jeep has more room than the X7 & Merc as attested to by my family. The Germans over engineer everything and it’s a nightmare trying to get into the third row. Press the wrong button and you’re in a loop of seats moving in the wrong direction. 😂. Wireless charger does not work half the time in the X7. Manually lowering the vehicle was a pain in the butt for my elderly father, which was automatically done by the JEEP. Again night vision in the Jeep is the bomb with all the deer in Pennsylvania. We have the top of the line summit reserve model, which eliminates a lot of the plastic parts you mentioned.

I'd definitely will buy a Grand cherokee again. You don't even need to go that high the limited is the sweet spot. Even the laredo's come with heated seat and steering wheel. I still have my 2015 and it's been extremely reliable beside basic maintenance I've only changed out the harmonic balancer and one fuel injector. However I had a 2020 L and it's basically the same but fuel economy sucked and It only gave us 1 extra seat so I sold it. But I'll be buying another one in about a month.

My 2014 Summit has 132k miles and still runs strong. Quiet interior with the only rattle, more like creak, coming from the panoramic roof. Dealership service added extra padding over the years which helped but it sometimes gets displaced/falls out. I am a huge nitpick with interior/road noise and I still appreciate my GC. That said, I am getting the itch for a BMW X3/X5 or Genesis GV70 but these new GCs are starting to get my attention again. I didn’t care for the external refresh and Stellantis takeover (e.g. more problems) but more bang for the buck and still “luxurious” is sound good to me. Still, I long for a tad more power from launch.

I'm probably going to get another GC, 4th gen, with the 5.7 HEMI in the next few years. The GC can do everything - summer, winter, asphalt, gravel and even some pretty decent real offroading up in the mountains, while carrying 4 people, all the luggage and doing it comfortably for a 1000+ mile roadtrip.

But then again, if you take care of a vehicle properly you can drive it over 100k miles.

I had a Grand Cherokee Laredo in the late 90's and loved it. I have always wanted another one and finally got it about 6 months ago. I went with a 2023 Limited with 2 upgrades. I love it! It was pricey at just under $60,000, and because the interest rates are sky high right now, I paid cash. The only problem I have is a rattle that drives me nuts. I finally figured out that it's the lock cylinder in the glove box, and it only rattles when I'm on a dirt road. I will have it checked out when I take it to the dealership for my first oil change. Overall, I am happy with my decision.

Some of these large SUVs pricing is getting out of control. Well equipped trim is approaching $70,000 - 80,000 CAD. I'm not even sure what we are paying for any more 😂. The Mazda CX-90 & 70 are priced more reasonably in my opinion, at least in Canada.

2015 3.6 Limited, 2018 25th Anniversary 5.7 Hemi, and currently 2019 Limited X with the 5.7 Hemi. I feel like 3 is enough, but went and test drove X5M50, X7, Denali, Escalade, Tahoe. I've got nothing bad to say about my Grand Cherokee's. I really like the size of it, but the Grand Cherokee is a little small once you add car seats and gear. Just set up a test drive for a summit reserve L with the Hemi, because I really don't want to drive and park a school bus on Long Island. Find me another SUV at this price point that has a V8... Doesn't exist. One thing I have to mention though. Once you have the hemi, you can't go back. The 5.7 is like franks red hot, I put that S*** on everything. If they made a new SRT, it would already be in my driveway. Of course, now that I afford one, there isn't one. I would gladly cram my family into a new SRT. DO YOU COPY STELLANTIS? I digress...
