Real fam, do you think always being positive is just a way to avoid admitting that it’s OK not to be all right?

glad this topic was touched on. being an introvert, it’s a mental reflex to keep my answers short cause i feel like people don’t listen so i act like everything’s all good and deal with the situation on my own.

I relate so much! I say i'm fine to avoid going into detail as to why I'm not okay, because most people don't know how to just listen but instead give their unnecessary opinions

"Theres just some people who use being real as an excuse for being rude~" ❤ 👏🏼F👏🏼A👏🏼C👏🏼👏🏼T👏🏼S👏🏼 And I cant stand it either. Being rude is not being real. Being real is when you can admit to you own flaws and take accountability instead of highlighting the faults in other. Some people are just 🙄

Tbh the American façade of always responding with “I’m doing great” or “I’m fine” always disturbed me, because it’s like, if you’re used to hearing I’m fine all the time - what happens when you ask someone how they’re doing and they’re not doing well? It becomes awkward, revealing the ugly truth that you didn’t really care how they were doing in the first place 😔 *🎶 It’s ok not to be ok 🎶 - Mabel 💕*

I'm from europe and when i first came to the US on a holiday trip i noticed that people (especially the people from the hotel etc) were overly nice and bubbly, like it felt kinda fake. My mom and i constantly joked that 1 time we should say we're doing terrible to see their reaction. it came across as if their response to us saying we're great was like a reflex, always immediately awwhh that's lovely 😃😃😃😃😃😃😃😃. i'm the kinda person where you shouldn't ask me if you don't wanna deal with the honest answer. sometimes i'm not okay. not that i wanna talk about it with strangers, but you should be able to respond in a normal way to me saying i've been feeling better. it's nothing weird, we all feel bad at times. so why are we so scared to honestly say how we're feeling? psa: obviously not everyone is the same in a country. i was only in a hotel, a few restaurants and a lot of amusement parks lol. Don't mean it in a negative way 💖

Honestly I stopped asking people how they’re doing if I’m not able to have a conversation with them and listen to their answer. I stopped answering when people ask me that question and a majority of the time no one notices.

I think it is healthy to be able to accept the reality of our situation, whether positive or negative, with a sound optimistic mindset that we will surpass whatever it is that we are going through. Much love from the Philippines!!! 💙💙💙 i always watch ur episodes on YT. I always wanted to participate as one of ur live audience though. 😃

I know some people mad as hell at what Adrianne said but she told the truth that goes through a lot of people of Faith's minds. Heck it went through mines and I'm an agnostic now which means I dont know what god is real but I still believe in a higher power just dont believe in a certain religious god no more. Dont judge me lol😂

Me too! I have certainly questioned all these religions and how many people may have lied about them. The original people who lied are dead and we have no one to verify it. I have questioned Christianity and feel agnostic now.

No judgement, there is only one God. A God who loves you enough to suffer and die a human death to save your soul and mine. You will know and understand in the midst of the most awful challenge of your life, when you realize you have absolutely NO control. I'm speaking from experience, not blind belief. God bless You.

I am a Christian, but I do agree that it’s actually refreshing for her to admit that because that is a thought that goes through so many people’s minds.. and to me, I feel like if you’ve never taken the time to actually question it.. then you don’t actually BELIEVE.. you were just socialized into it.. does that make sense? I think you need to question what you believe and why you believe it, and I don’t think that’s necessarily a bad thing.

@Tamera I always say there’s a difference from being “Real” being “Rude” & being “Real Rude” The difference to me is Real: Being honest Rude: Just being mean/inappropriate Real Rude: Being honest in a harsh way/ throwing a little shade in with the truth

Ok so...I think with that...there’s nothing wrong with focusing on a negative aspect of something and choosing to accept that it’s not a bad thing to look at a “ unfortunate event “ because instead of seeing it as this terrible thing to ignore... it’s ok to accept something that happens in ur life and think that it’s meant for your better good!

Yes definitely a problem! To me it means you want to avoid opening up & analyzing that you’re not okay because you can’t deal with your emotions. Instead you always say you’re fine to float over it. Not dealing with your emotions can be unhealthy, I’ve seen people explode 😦😱

Should keep things real, tho be logical, like it’s good to be positive and maybe it will help inspire people to do things and get things done successfully. But at the same time acknowledged the difficult obstacles. I try to stay in the “everything is fine/It is, what it is.” In my career I should say. And I saw a meme where people who are like this, have hearts of Stone. And I agree. Like I know everything is not fine but I say it’s fine.

Allowing the acknowledgment and reflection of all the negatives in your life and who you have become is only good and helps elevate you as a better human. Those who pretend that living with a optimistic lens all the time are usually empty for the soul as in you cant be the real you around them because they rather hear only good things.
@cozy_bella_me4 жыл бұрын
I don’t think it’s fake. Why give false hope when we don’t know why we live to die. Having faith has really helped me when I can’t help myself. Miracles, things just flowing..people don’t understand that faith that surpasses all understanding! It makes a difference when you have it. Sometimes I do loose hope in self and humanity but I always bounce back..

OK, so when someone asks me 'how are you doing?' my real answer 'I'm so tired' (after a busy days work and the first trimester of being pregnant, this person knows this.) Their response 'Everyone gets tired, you're not the only one.' Next time I'm not feeling well, got a cold and feeling overwhelmed, same person 'how are you?' me 'I'm not well, I've got a cold' I burst out crying, them 'oh no, it's got to be something else, not just a cold your hiding something'..... Like no matter how polite and real I am this person down plays my feel feelings and emotions. So next time they asked me how I am I got defensive and said 'please don't stress me out, I don't want to talk' they literally came after me acting innocent and provoking me further. Point being even when you are being polite and not in a good place personally, there comes a point when it's others who are not sincere in their asking 'how are you.' Or did I miss something??
