Whenever my dog plays in the grass , woods or leaves , I always fear for ticks . Finding them in their dark coats is so challenging. What do you do to keep them away from Odin? Do you use any natural methods or use chemicals? pills/tick collars ?

First time dog owners I would say they should only consider a German Shepherd if they do their homework because they need to know exactly what are the needs of the breed and they need to be certain that they're able to fulfill those needs and are ready to fulfill that for the life of the dog also they should be prepared to work with a dog trainer to ensure that both the dog and the owner are able to communicate effectively and have a great life together

I am getting a championship showline GSD hopefully by mid July. It's parents are champion bloodline, with hip certifications. I am getting a nice kennel for the dog since we are not allowed to keep dogs inside the homes. You think the dog be alright?

Odin is getting Chunky. Is this health related or are you overfeeding him? In my opinion he needs to lose about 10 pounds. How much does he weigh right now and how tall is he? I've had that problem with my last German shepherd who continued to live with my parents after I got married. And parents overfed him quite a bit. I don't have this problem with my current dog. Since I'm fully in control of his diet and it's Raw diet. And I understand if you will reply by saying " Look, the dog is full of energy and he is fine" In my opinion ribs must be visible. At least slightly when the dog is half turned.
