Twenty years ago at a Linus Pauling Institute conference I asked Dr. Walter Willett about the omega-3:6 ratio, and he dismissed it out of hand saying that it was completely disproven. I was shocked, but didn’t trust his assertion (even though at the time I thought he was a rock star). Over the years it became clear to me that anything that didn’t fit a plant-based narrative, including the idea of “vegetable oils” not being healthy was knocked by Willett’s Harvard epidemiological research. I’m a retired dietitian. Looking back, the dietary guidelines (pushing PUFAs) and the growth of ultra processed foods, has destroyed the health of most of the US population.

Plant based doesn't mean these people don't differentiate between Omega 3 and 6, they do. Many plant based avoid oils. They aren't all blind to the lack of micronutrient and inflammatory mechanisms...just so you know.

I understand about the ratios. This doctor looks great and has sound knowledge. I am glad she is not against meat and understands the importance of essential fatty acids. What about lectins and oxylates in the vegetable and all the sugars in the friut.

I go to Crete every year for a month have lots of Cretan friends. They do not eat a lot of fish. Most can’t afford it now as it is very expensive even there. If you go into the mountains no fish . It’s lamb or pork maybe salad. They love potatoes and bread.

Agree....good question. To my question "What fish that is similar to Herring is abundant in Crete" chat GPT replied....... In Crete, a fish called sardela (Greek: σαρδέλα), or sardine, is abundant and similar to herring in flavor and texture. Sardines are smaller but have a comparable oily, rich taste profile, making them popular in Mediterranean cuisine. Sardines are often grilled, marinated, or served in dishes similar to how herring is prepared in other parts of Europe. Another option is gavros (Greek: γαύρος), or anchovy, which is also an oily fish and commonly found in Crete. Though smaller than herring, gavros shares a similar flavor and is often served fresh, marinated, or preserved, just like herring.

GMO is taking two different plants and combining them together. Therefore they would not work the same as if it was only one plant. They would cause a problem with the health
@roughout20 күн бұрын
Plant genetic cross breeding has gone on since the beginning of time and happens naturally in nature. GMO accomplishes it faster and potentially makes crosses not naturally occurring.
