you're very naive if you seriously think giving real, honest feedback about your boss (especially negative ones) in 360 feedback is held in confidence. HR lives for and protects the company. They don't give a care about the employees

Whatever it is, don’t take it personally, shake hands and say goodbye before moving on. It is just a job and another chapter closes as we walk out that door. A new one out there beckons. It is a matter of perspective.

😮🙏 Lessons learnt after working for four Corporations >>> When the Good Caring HR & Dept Managers were being slowly replaced by new inexperienced managers that hardly knew their subordinates nor care about their wellbeings but only emphasized on KPI & outputs & many inter department transfers of workers ... It is Red Flag 🇨🇳 for forcework reduction exercises to be conducted soon in that corporations ... Lost so many experienced & caring colleagues over the years by corporation cut cutting exercises ... It is sad when our once happy Unions face their eventual Dissolutions in due Time & Space! 😮🙏 Thank You So Much for sharing the valuable Life Experiences & Insights! 🕯🌷🌿🌏✌💜🕊

I have the same experience about quietly laid off.But I am still clinging on so that I mayhave compensations when it fired me.

lesson learned from my previous corpo: when good HR suddenly replaced or quits, you know something is seriously wrong. i was on track to be a new dept. head in 2017 due to my performance almost twice the average of the older employee to the point the technical director liked my work so much. but all of a sudden the good HR suddenly got replaced, and the General Manager suddenly quits, everything was thrown out of the window. as it turns out, the old employee were jealous and start lobbying the members of BoD and basically all my promotion plan is voted out by the majority of the board (with exception of the Technical Director ofc since he supported me). i submitted my 2 weeks notice almost immediately back then, and they threatened to fine me for compensation (quite a large one). but the moment i make a phone call and decided to lawyered up, they suddenly backed down smh 😅. i got out fairly unscathed and only have to pay for my national engineer certification only which i can use in other company anyway so i don't mind.

Old or experienced employee have very high tendency to engage in “self-preserving” or “newcomer-must-suck-up” attitude.

@@RealRick0408 true true. "There's noone better than me" attitude as well. Very annoying lah

1. Leaving to be a better person...we might perceive this as avoidance as well, which can be branded as an act by the weak. 2. To those who advocate employment clause of firing without reason(s) whatsoever, just hope you get your just desert. 3. Until the subordinates get to see the tangible impact on their superiors based on their feedback, 360 feedback is as good as a show.

Another reason to rally workers to go on strike. Get the management before the management gets you.

Exploitation the main reason. Sometimes they promote a person to a director to use him or her to fire and hire anyone and then got themselves fired at the end before shutting down the division. This is one way to get rid of ppl.

Companies do as they wish when there are lack of effective regulation against malpractices and discrimination towards employees. What makes us think working in public sector may be any difference?
@Callsign-Blade_RunnerSG2 ай бұрын
Yes I absolutely agree with you. ST Engineering Aerospace Defence is a good example of discriminatory practices against targeted employees whom take paternity leaves.

So the advice here is, if you’re being bullied out, you should just take it and leave! Ridiculous! I say dig your heals in, keep a log of the treatment and wait for the gigantic payout!

I think ppl should not take this personally, this is just method for company to maintain (reduce) the manpower when company is not doing good enough.
@KC-ir9iw2 ай бұрын
Be fair and be upfront to the employee if company not doing well . Tell them ahead so that they can planned their future else where without suffering the mental stress and guessing what will happened. Remember they have family to feed too.

@SurpriseMeJT2 ай бұрын
Absolutely, but workers should also use every tool available to them (the law or lawyers) to prevent companies and markets to maintain this sort of "business practice" because it's only going to get worse if we don't dis-incentivize hiring to appease investors and then firing to appease investors. If a business can't grow normally without playing these games, then it shouldn't exist. The volatility benefits the executives who know what is going on and everyone else is constantly stressed out and getting screwed.
