I did as well. I loved this show and the spinoff when they moved to the country. Come to think of it PBS provided us Americans some great British programs. Last of the summer wine, Dr Who especially Tom Baker, and Red Dwarf.

Love this show! That scene of Capt. Peacock taking another umbrella still shocks me - he freaking stole merchandise from the store! He’d flip on anyone else doing that! 🤣🤣😂😂🤣🤣

I actually found an episode I hadn't seen. This was just hysterical. I was choking uncontrolably with laughter! What great writers, actors and wonderful show. May they rest in peace!

It's blows my mind that three of the actors are basically the same age, with only fifteen months separating them: Rumbold (Nicholas Smith, Mar 5 1934). Lucas (Trevor Bannister, Aug 14 1934) and Humphries (John Inman, Jun 28 1935). Their characters seem to be very different in age; particularly Rumbold. Terrific series and I am unanimous in this.

in aybs the staff are several times offered bonuses of 100 pounds, or 25 pounds or whatever. Its interesting to see on an inflation calculator that 100 pounds at that time is equivalent to around 1500 pounds nowadays - no wonder they jump at the offer

They most likely were. It's not uncommon for actors to be uncredited in roles like that.
