These Aussie episodes never get off the ground -- it's as if the country had been in a depression that year (1981). These same lines take flight when performed by the original English cast in the show's first season, 1973.

I learned about the Australian version of the series in that excellent book about "Are You Being Served?", published in about 1996. It's very good to see this version along with the original version, and I like both of them. 😀

Molly is one of a kind. But I think June Bronhill did a great Australian version. Plus she has a great voice. I take both of them over the 2016 remake.

@@Dontcareifyoudont Good God the 2016 remake/reboot was horrid.. I watched once and found it dull and unfunny... While this version has its ups and downs.. its not too bad.. but nothing will ever top the British "Are You Being Served" That was pure comedic genius!

So weird to see the show with a different cast and names, minus one. Loved the original series and the original version of this episode. This was one of my favorite episodes. The Australian versions seems just as good as the original British version.

Everyone does a good job of being like the British characters except the guy who plays Humphries. He's very unlike anyone not dissimilar to the real Mr. Humphries.

I believe this was aired on April 19th, 1981. However, I can not say when it was filmed as I do not know.

As far as I know, Australia has fairly close accents to the Engish, not perfectly similar, but close. Mr. Bone has what sounds to be a Scottish accent.

I've been told this was made due to copyright laws. They didn't have permission to show the original in Australia, so they just made their own. Not sure how true that is, but that's what I've been told.

The original is the best. They tried it here in the states about 40 years ago. It sucked love the original and the sequel show.
