I still don’t get what looks good on high contrast people. You never make it clear. I’m so frustrated I can never seem to figure out what colours look best. I have fair skin with neutral undertones, (I have turquoise and purple ish veins) dark brown hair and medium brown eyes.

I’ve been having the same trouble with every color system I’ve come across. In all of them, soft people are both more neutral in skin tone and tend to be medium-to-low contrast, while brights are usually very very warm or very very cool skin with extremely low or extremely high contrast. But what about if you’re a mix? I’ve got high contrast with my hair (brown-black) and medium contrast with my eyes (light hazel) and my skin is a light, possibly cool-leaning neutral. I’m coming to the conclusion that we’re kind of stuck sticking with the middle of any color spectrum in any system. Soft colors, but not *too* soft, deep colors, but not *too* deep, slightly warm or slightly cool depending on how our neutral skin leans, etc. And we can probably pull off cool *or* warm colors as long as they’re only *slightly* cool/warm, but not strongly saturated. Very frustrating. I’ve been researching this stuff for like a year and a half now, and still haven’t come across a single example anywhere of someone with my coloring or a perfect color palette. I’ll probably have to make one with lots of experimentation.

Hi Jen! Just wanted to thank you for all the information you are sharing with us on color theory. I've always considered myself to be medium-warm based on my foundation shade, and because gold jewelry looks best on my skin. I assumed colors in that family would be good for my eyeshadow too. So I was baffled as to why I didn't look good in warm shadows like oranges, coppers, and yellow golds. Then I took your test and it showed me that I am actually bright, COOL, and deep! My eyes and hair were actually cool. And now it's making sense why I gravitate to the cooler colors even though I'm supposedly "warm". Didn't realize your skin tone can be a different temperature than your eye and hair color. Purchased the color guide and I resonate with 90% of it! Somehow though I can still pull off chocolate browns and bronzey eyeshadow. Thank you so much for this revelation! I am now inspired!

Brown eyeshadow looks good on you because it contrasts your cool eyes and makes them pop. I thought that because i’m cool i’d have to purchase the cool eyeshadow palettes.. turns out that’s not the case since that wouldn’t make my blue eyes stand out, this guy explains it well kzbin.info/www/bejne/bGTToJp8lL-ch80

You have beautiful eyes, but I don't think you're a bright. The very bright tops you wear in some of your videos, like this one, look very separate from you. I think that's a sign that it's not your color?

I'm not quite sure what my seasonal color analysis is. Here are a few descriptions: 1. I have light peachy/yellow skin 2. I have dark brown eyes 3. I have golden brown hair (chestnut brown with golden blonde) 4. I don't tan very easily. 5. I have both blue and green veins but more green veins. 6. I look good in most colors but not pure white or grayish clothes. I feel like I look good in black. I look good in both bright and soft types of clothes.

thank you for this! I couldnt figure out why I do bright colors better until you explained the high pigment part. My eyes are hazel so theyre softer but the rest of me is very pigmented.

my eyes are a 'pebbles' grey (grey with lots of random blotches of greenish, bright bluish, teal, some amber) with a darker ring. A lot fo the time, grey eyes, because they're 'desaturated' are dubbed as soft. But because of the darker ring and with the contrast they have with my hair (rich, coppery light golden brown; a shaded saturated yellow-orange basically) and skin( very pale) they actually look pretty darn bright. I have been typed as a soft autumn, but even though I don't care about colour analysis that much anymore - I am young & healthy, I rarely look 'bad' - I am pretty sure I am not a soft autumn at all. edit: the term 'high pigment' for hair definitely speaks to me.

looking at your videos on your channel - I would say you are warm, medium, maybe bright....I know you said you don't care about CA anymore. :D But I would say too soft colors will wash you out. Maybe you would be a warm spring in the 12 Season system. But if you don't go after this system I say look for warmer medium-light colors that have some sort of intensity/saturation/brightness to them. So in Jens System probably a bright warm medium? It's just a quick guess.

@@tomars312 Yes, I have pretty much figured out I am a warm spring/warm bright medium/spring/whatever. It's nice to know, I guess, and I am generally more attracted to bright green and red and coral than to say, dusty olive (i hate dusty olive with a burning passion lol). But because I am already attracted to the colours that tend to look better on me according to CA, I don't care a lot - if I see a gorgeous dress that is dove grey and I feel great in it, actually depending on the source that's sometimes a spring colour, there's nothing stopping me :)

@@YourColorStyle Are you talking to me? Well, I have also had 'offers' from other CA's, but back then I was only 16-17 so euhm not very possible. I am 19 now. I personally believe a lot in 'artistically accomplished' (Like, wearing neon fuschia in a way it looks totally great on someone who is supposed to not look their best in it due to how it is combined, make-up etc) and generally lots of freedom in style, so I stepped a bit away from colour analysis.

IMO, your hair would look so much better if it were 2-3 inches shorter. The tips are sitting on your body and it ruins the lovely straight ends

I am a Dark Autumn according to standard color analysis, i have natural black hair, deep brown eyes, and a light-medium skin, but i do feel that smoky tones wash me out, although very intense colors wear me, in some cases, could the brghtness of a color be the secondary characteristic?

I used a bright and soft color wheel and put a picture of me in the middle, I realized my hair and eyes look great with the soft and weird with bright, while my skin looked beautiful with the bright and washed out with the soft. I recommend doing a similar experiment to understad better, a lot of times people dont fit neatly in any category, but its still very helpful and i plan on dying my hair a brighter color to see if it helps with harmony.
