This is why RR is going to be legendary Boxing interviewer. He asks THE TOUGH questions, and he doesn’t just stop when a fighter gives him a BS reply. He genuinely gets in there and speaks for the fans. He’s well aware of what fans have on our mind and would say if we had the opportunity, and he makes sure a fighter knows it before the interview is finished. As a Boxing fan how could you ever be upset by this? Criticism and Questioning is how all consumers get a better product, out else consumers continue getting more of the same. No genuine Boxing fans are upset here, only those who want AJ to protect his record by not fighting Wilder. That is the only fight that needs to happen next. Hrgovic is NOT anywhere near as dominant nor as accomplished as Wilder. What AJ is truly saying is “if I fight Wilder and lose then I’m retiring.” Because he can still get a title shot AFTER fighting Wilder. There are four belts they don’t just disappear. Unless he’s planning on getting a vacant belt just so he can negotiate ridiculous terms (again) knowing good and well Wilder won’t accept ridiculous terms. So that the fight doesn’t happen and he could say Wilder wouldn’t sign the contract. Throughout history when fighters wanted to fight each other they never ever spoke like AJ. Ever.
