I'm so grateful to have discovered this channel. My husband used to operate the Kubota bx23s and was teaching me the basics before he passed away. Since then, I've been maintaining all the equipment by learning from tutorials on KZbin. Thank you for providing such helpful videos on the basics. I'm sure there are other women in my position who would appreciate learning about maintaining small homesteading equipment. Please keep the simple and informative videos coming. Your efforts are greatly appreciated!

Thank u so much! I just bought my home and the Kubota came with the property. Which means I have no clue how to work on it. Anyway I was having over heating trouble and I watched this video and sure enough everything was extremely clogged. Rats had built nest all in it and there were acorns everywhere! I cleaned it like the video said and bam good as new! Thank u a ton!

I would have to agree with you. I have a BX2380 and I do all these things you recommend. However I understand that there are owners that are ignorant to what you need to do for basic maintenance.

Lucas: good points. Won't have to worry about this in a few months. We may get snow today. Take care and stay safe. PS: the Boss's VW is still in the garage.

Use a garden hose and blast out the radiator fins from the fan side to the screen side. Gently hose off the side eith the screen so it doesn't get sucked back in. I have to do this every 3 mowings due to pollen, dust, and dandelion seeds.

Do you folks not receive an operators manual when you purchase the machines? The dealer can print you a copy if needed for any model right back to BX 00 series.
@PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead Жыл бұрын
Of course they do. Some folks prefer to see a video or just enjoy the interaction with other BX owners. 🤷🏼♂️

Having trouble with min bx25 overheating and it isn’t the screens. How much coolant should be coming out to. The bottom of the overflow tank? It will go hot within a minute and the radiator hose is not hot. I am going to remove the thermostat and see if that helps. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated
@PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead2 жыл бұрын
That does sound to me like a thermostat stuck closed. The overflow level will remain relatively stable. The flow just circulates through the radiator and into the engine block. The overflow is just for expansion as it heats up. Keep us posted on how removing the thermostat works. Maybe others can chime in and help…

@@PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead well took out the thermostat but now I can’t tell if it is overheating so I am going to put a new one in. Also changed the hose that goes from the radiator to the overflow tank and I couldn’t see any daylight threw it so I believe it was clogged. I do have one other problem that has just started recently. White smoke! I know what you are thinking, but it doesn’t do it all the time. When it first starts, nothing and then it starts but if I give it more gas it stops. Any idea what it might be? Just so you know, I am a 75 year old female living on SS that is head strong and knows with punching through things I will get it done. I am not using my age as a crutch, just wanted you to understand more about me. This diesel bit or any car/tractor stuff is new to me. Moved to a farm by myself and love it but the tractor is kind of like my muscle. If I can’t do it the tractor usually can. Thank you for all your info! Love KZbin for all the help I find and the wonderful people willing to put it out there. God speed to all!
@PeeksPeakHobbyHomestead2 жыл бұрын
@@nancydrew6010 It sounds to me like you are doing great! Actual white smoke is usually unburnt fuel. My thought would normally be on injectors at that point, but if it isn’t excessive, your oil level is staying put then it will likely be fine for a long time. If it gets to be steady or if it starts “making oil” (gets overfull) then you could quickly do engine damage running it that way. I would put in the new thermostat and monitor your oil and coolant levels closely for a while. Those are your best clues as to if you have a problem or if it is getting worse. I am no professional mechanic…I just work on my own stuff as much as possible. Feel free to keep asking questions and I will share any help that I can!

MMM really stirs the dust up. On my B after a couple hrs. I have to stop to get rid of coffee.. During the stop I always remove the beard that has accumulated on front grill. Surprised yours doesn't have a 2nd filter fine in there. The one for B might fit ?
