@_Baku2 жыл бұрын
@@micahnewby7964 That's actually the crux of the issue - learning the evil team is not part of the vortox's power. Demon and minion info only happen at the very start of the game, it doesn't automatically happen once there's no poppygrower in play. It's very specifically the poppygrower's ability which is giving out the information, and being a townsfolk, that information must be false in a vortox game. In fact, if the poppygrower power is removed from the game without dying (such as by pit hag), the evil team will never learn each other. It's an unintuitive ruling, absolutely, but it's a well established one.

Includes spoilers: Adam perfectly understood how to play his role as Boomdandy in a game with Poppygrower in play... he was, for the first time, the absolute protagonist of a (yet again) masterpiece. Carly, who usually reads Adam the best, let his risky move of proclaiming Goblin in front of the whole circle pass up for one more round, that was enough for the evil team to solve the puzzle. Rooting for them the whole time, congratulations! Since everyone's already pointing out all the great hits, I just want to shout out that Amnesiac ability. In almost every single instance, the Amnesiac ability has been some esoteric information gathering ability that never gets to affect the game because it's either never figured out or by the time it *is* figured out, it's too late to be helpful; which is *why* Dom was so willing to die because he figured "I'm not smart enough for this, let's just get this over with." But the Amnesiac ability can be **ANYTHING**. It might be cute to give someone an ability like "You learn how many people voted for the Demon" to let them feel smart for figuring it out. But if you give someone an ability like "Your vote is counted once for each day you've been alive", they can still have an influence on the game before figuring it out, and feel super powerful immediately after learning how good it is! I was seriously hoping that Adam was going to be put on the chopping block day one, because I wanted to see something unprecedented happen, and it was a right shame it didn't. Here's hoping we can get more intriguing and immediately useful Amnesiacs in the future!

I have game where the amenesaic figure out their ability and live to F3 for some reasons. Though I did make it simple.
@Dubster99902 жыл бұрын
Pretty sure the reason why Dom was happy to die was because he got a 'quite warm' with regards to his ability having something to do with drunkenness or poisoning. I feel it's probable his thinking was that he had an ability that made people drunk, which is why he was willing to die as it would be a detriment to the town. Unfortunately for him, he had not figured out it was a Vortox at that point.

It’s interesting to see how much more willing the NRB crew are to kill an Amnesiac early than the more experienced players over at TPI’s own streams. She does often work things out and pieces things together but she doesn't win friends or influence people along the way which is part of a social deduction game. For instance in this game, nobody glommed onto the fact that in a vortox game Carley was 100% good via Dan's empath, they were so distrusting of her they landed on either Carley and mara were both good or both bad, which isn't possible. @@yugiwinninglex true it wasn’t the best thing he could have done but it wasn’t as bad a play as it ended up looking, he also thought it would prove a vortox or not which it doesn’t but can’t really blame him for not realising that, it was funny though

And just like that, just when I thought Adam was the worst BOTCT player I'd ever seen, he totally redeems himself. What a brilliant play from start to finish. Claiming Goblin publicly, sowing seeds (quietly but not TOO quietly) of a Poppy Grower so that the evil team can bring up the possibility without seeming suspicious and opening up the real Poppy Grower to double claim and possibly out themself publicly, and then calling Brooke's (admittedly poor) bluff that she had a once per game ability that she was cagey about and hadn't used yet on DAY THREE - all masterstrokes. Evil wants to sow chaos, but he did it with an alibi that made sense to the good team, and with a bluff that meant that even if the good team thought he was evil, they were taking a huge risk to execute him (which is also a competent Poppy Grower play if they want to play aggressively), and even if they did call his bluff, his Boomdandy ability meant it would STILL be bad for the good team. Hilariously, this game with the Poppy Grower seems like EXACTLY the game Adam wanted in the ill-fated game "with" Tempest. Just pure chaos where even evil doesn't actually know what's going on. And he killed it.

Mara absolutely has the cutest voice and accent! spoilers from here: Adam's facial expression after picking the Boomdandy is pure joy!! also love Carly's idea that demons can't do handshakes. it's kinda like vampires and having to be welcomed into a house - turns out all baddies are socially awkward. omg Adam basically confirming a poppy grower at 24:44... can't wait to see where this goes! Dom's Legion scare at 30:23 is hilarious, everyone does really look quite guilty after he asks the question noo Adam guessing the Damsel, that game ended so abruptly☠
@eveoftheroses37662 жыл бұрын
Tbf, Brooke really wasn't hiding her role at all. She was glaringly obvious in her lack of bluffs. She isn't a bad player at all I think she either didn't think the stratagy through or was too invested in a huntsman select. I don't really see how worth it it is to get selected as the damsel by the huntsman, if they get a lucky guess then awesome but not a big enough effect on the game when you are risking 2 or 3 others being able to guess you before the huntsman especially because they don't need to wait untill night to try guess you.

Such a great game for Adam. Just one flaw: when he played outed evil, he shouldn’t have said he was the Goblin. He should have lied about being some other minion. This is not because the claim of Goblin would confuse a real Goblin. It is because as Boomdandy he wants to get executed, and town will not execute him if they think he is the real Goblin.
