She had a sore throat coming in and did not want to cancel the performance hence the Xtra water sips in the middle of the song .She never quits or gets flustered about mistakes

As some have said, "her imperfections are perfect". She handles these situations so well. She has to know her voice is going to crack when she is like this and she either just does it, alters the song, or she uses it for effect which is crazy.

For some reason after listening to you and some of your comments, it really hit me what it must’ve been like to be at that concert that you just reacted to at her at nine years old I don’t know what that experience would be like. I have some medical issues, but I finally made it to, see Angelina Jordan in LA and man is one thing listening to her over U2 but how many people these days can sing live without autotune I was blown away with her talent. The other thing is she was so young still that caught me off guard to see her in person, I’m glad Norway kept her a secret as it probably kept her normal for as long as possible and that’s smart parenting. She has her whole life to sing and she only gets one chance to be a child. Keep up the great reactions, Angel, Lauren.

I hadn't seen this video before. Likely she cracked on the high note because of her cold. At her TV performance at age 10, Angelina hit the note in spectacular fashion. BTW, the camera work on this one was so bad I yelled at my TV, "Get a tripod!" LOL. Great reaction.

She never sang this song this way before this or after this. Even with the live stage performance at age 10, it wasn’t this jazzy. I think when she heard this jazz band playing as it does, she decided to jazz this song up to blend with what they do best. Fantastic-she’s such a pro, even at age nine!

Great reaction Aaron. I recall listening to all of these videos at one time or another, but early on in my AJ journey (2017-2018) I tended to listen to them only once if there was a “better” version that I discovered. I am learning with your help, to pick apart these “lesser” videos and appreciate the observational gems that are contained in ALL of Angelina’s performances. Additionally I have come to realize something else. Mery is behind the camera in SO many of these gems… usually anonymously, but I am realizing her enthusiastic voice is contained in WAY more than I ever imagined. You can hear MARY feeling it alongside Angelina. Her “hollering” is like what we hear with Juliette today (“…let’s GO!…”). And I’ve confirmed this by noticing that these “whoops” are usually accompanied by some rather shaky camera work! 😆🤣 Thanks for another great reaction/analysis. I can’t wait to see your reaction to the two “ten-year-old” Angelina’s “FMTTM” performances. Although most people prefer one particular “ten-year-old performance” over the other, I’ve come to love them BOTH for different reasons. I look forward to hearing your take on it! 🎶🫶👣

Angelina Jordan had what I call a happy accident, not a mistake but a happy accident, she had that vocal crack and got a little mad and did that gritting your teeth mad and finished with that feeling good grawl that made the ending dramatic and gritty and bluesy and the ending saying its about time and iam determined to feel good because I deserve it, that is something that is awesome about Jazz is the improvisation that you can do with a song at that moment of singing a song depending on how things are at that moment, I smile brightly, Angelina Jordan should always do that type of ending with this song, it truly was a beyond awesome performance, in Jazz, audiences do love those real and raw emotions, I believe, one more thing, happy accidents lead to great inspirations 🌞

Great things happen when the band is tight and really feeling it, Angelina is also feeling it, They all are trying to squeeze a little more out - here, Angelina would take the crescendo near the end up through the I of I'm then dramatically pull it back down for Feeling - here she was tempted to keep on going up and the instrument wasn't quite going with it...

Angelina’s musicality is off the charts already at this age. In fact, at nine it is still a little ahead of what her voice can do, especially coming in with a sore throat. Only a year later, her voice will catch up and we have liftoff! Still, I love these less perfect performances, because the show that her head is just brimming (over) with brilliant musical ideas.

Like My Funny Valentine, where you pointed out she likely had a vision for how she wanted to perform that song but at age 9/10 just didn't yet have the full tool set to do it ..... for Feeling Good, she performed one of her masterpieces, vision fully realized, AT AGE 10. It's the live TV version. Slightly faster tempo than this jazzy version. You did 3 mind-blown gestures here, can't wait to see you react to THAT performance.

At 9 she was rushing it a bit, at ten she has much better timing and of course the sound is much better, she also has a bigger band in the TV recording! The difference between the two shows how quickly she learns! Angelina is just amazing!

Wonderful, this is the first time I have seen this one. I noticed she was eying up the water bottle first , then she knew when she had time to pick it up, and did so, then at the end of the song she wanted to pick it up again but the lady compare stoped her without realising it. She has ultimate timing in her bones.

Wow, I can't recall the last time I watched this performance. A true hidden gem for me. When her voice cracked, it reminded me of Morrissette Amon when her voice squeaks, when hitting high notes. I need to listen to this performance on a regular basis.

I believe that this was another concert where Angelina had a cold, and perhaps the one where she was sickest...she even had to take a drink mid-song...and this likely contributed to the "crack". And she was still great !

Technically Angelina is still nine years old here, but less than three weeks shy of her tenth birthday. Watching her development over this eleventh year through this song is very interesting, because we not only have the two often shown performances at TV2 events. It starts here with the Christmas concert on December 21, 2015 at Victoria Scene Oslo, a famous jazz club and accompanied by a first class jazz band. Next stop is the performance at the Norwegian Mother's Day gala (February 13, 2016) at Clarion Hotel & Congress Center Oslo Airport, Gardermoen - with a pop band. Then the outdoor performance in Halden (Allsang på grensen) on June 30, 2016, recorded and broadcast by TV2. Next up Kongsberg Jazz festival July 9, 2016 at Kongsberg Musikkteater (lined up with Bendik Hofseth and Melody Gardot), again with a great jazz band. And to top it all off, the TV2 live broadcast of the charity event "The Stream gir tilbake" from the Chateau Neuf Oslo on December 30, 2016 (almost exactly one year after the appearance on Victoria Scene) with her most famous performance, accompanied by a band reinforced with strings and wind instruments. Nine days later she was back on stage, this time at the New Year's concert in Kolben culture house in Kolbotn (a suburb of Oslo) on January 8th, 2017 (two days shy of her 11th bday) and although she had the entire Oppegård Janitsjar orchestra at her disposal, she was accompanied only by the piano. Victoria stage in Oslo is a historic venue with a lot of culture in its walls and from 2008 the permanent home for Norway’s National Jazz Scene. It’s an intimate concert stage with very good sound and light conditions, but has only capacity for 270 spectators, so you can call it kind of a Jazz Club.

Definitely a voice crack at the top note here, which doesn't matter IMO, (at age 10 it's gone). I don't believe she was under the weather, I think it's just her voice developing. 🙂
