I watched that reaction video, and was very impressed with his ability to figure out the gender, age, and description of a young Angelina Jordan. Loved his reaction when he then saw her singing that song. It was another level of joy to watch you watching them. And the fact that you're all related makes it extra special! You're all talented reactors. I also first discovered Angelina singing this song, took a long deep dive down the rabbit hole, and never looked back. Sings the blues like someone who has been through it. Many of us Angels believe she is an empath and can pick up all of the emotions from the original artist, then she re-tells the story with her feelings. This was such a great reaction!! Back in my day, 70s/80s we had albums and records and a gathering of friends to share the moment of getting a popular album first. This is similar, especially during the lockdown we figured out this is a social outlet. J Hawkins served in the military up her in Alaska in the 50’s. He originally was singing opera plus he did some boxing. When died, he had fathered close to 90 children!!!

I have been subscribed to LBoyd longer than I have been subscribed to your channel. The beginning sound sounds like a Movie Projector. In this video Angelina sounds like a lounge singer from the '40s - '50s - '60s. I recommend that you check out Allison Young ... Fever - Peggy Lee Cover (Feat. Allison Young). Brenda Lee was also a short lady 4'11 with a booming voice, hence her nickname Little Miss Dynamite which she got as a 13 yo. Another recommendation is ZZ Ward - Cannonball.

I saw this on your cousin's channel! Angelina showed a picture of Screamin Jay Hawkins at the beginning of this song! She was 9 years and two months in this! If I Were A Boy was not Beyonce's song it was written by Toby Gad and BC Jean, she recorded first and released it, it was later covered by Beyonce! Toby hired Angelina to sing it for him on his Piano Diary's album that is made up of all his hits sung by new artists!

Britt, It would be interesting if you'd react to the original, but I have to say, in general, reactions to the original do not get many views, as Screaming Jay Hawkins is not that popular nowadays. But I guess you have enough fans of your own to pull it off successfully. If you do, I'd recommend one of his later live versions, which are longer than the early recordings and sports more of the element Angelina used. FYI - I do not listen to Mr LBoyd. He puts 5 or more links to his channels but after many requests he refuses to put even 1 for the artist. His Sub count blew up when he started with Angelina and he shows 0 respect. Check it out if you do not believe me. I enjoyed his reactions but have to support the artist.
