Yeah just a lovely recall. Had my 6.7 done and got 1 mile down road from picking up truck and my check engine light came on with a P02D8 code for the cylinder 7 fuel injector. 2 more trips to the dealer before they finally done correctly. Wish I would never have had it touched.

If it negatively affects the fuel economy, soots up the exhaust or causes the engine to run erratically, that will cause others to not get it.

I am gun shy, I think I'll wait to hear more about any issues. I got shafted on the VW diesel emissions deal, they flashed my daily driver and it was on the dealers lot for an entire year waiting for them to figure it out. Can't have issues or derate with my truck!😀

back from the dealer for a spare key (truck didn't come with 2 keys) and they did the 20e07 update with my permission. zero change to the vehicle dynamics. zero change to fuel economy. only thing i noticed was my radio/dash was reset and i had to select FM when i drove the truck home. 126 miles later no issue. still 15-16 MPG.

I got this recall notice and im not doing it. My truck has ran perfectly for 6 years and not one trip to a mechanic. Im out of warranty so I have no need to go to the dealer anyway for them to shove this in my truck.

I am not sure how long this has been out but I had my truck at Ford in summer 2021 for a drivetrain noise. After I got it back it started randomly going into high idle. They had not told me about any updates being applied and I had not gotten a recall notice. I was freaking out because I was not expecting a change in behavior. It would have been nice to know that they were going to do the update so that I could expect a possible behavior change.

Same here, 2019 F350 platinum in for the tailgate issue 21M05, in the three years and 83k miles i’ve never experienced this idle up ever it freaked me out at first. So you’re telling me if I bring my truck in for another issue they have to comply with this recall without prior notice or permission. I was not notified of the update and I’m sure they did it and I think it’s BS. they should notify you prior to doing any maintenance updates anything this just pisses me off.

I had mine done two days ago. Yesterday had my first check engine light ever, tomorrow it goes back for diagnosis. 17 f250 with 66k miles. I thought it had a different sound from the exhaust when i was driving it home from the dealer but also thought it was my imagination suspecting the worst. We’ll see…

Had this done a while back. No problem w truck. It will idle up when it hasn’t reached temp on short trips. I’ve been wanting the high idle on my upfitter so I figure this is just an auto high idle 😁🤣

Dealer talked me into doing this on mine, worst thing every.. Now it won't idle up for cold temps, but it will do a burn every time it idles for more than 10min.. It stinks and smokes.. Dealer is useless for getting answers!!

2014 6.7. I have to take my F250 into the dealer for update, to get my registration sticker. Also have a customer satisfaction letter for the EGR cooler. Just took care of my def heater. Got temporarily detained and had a shop diagnose engine light and repair. I sent receipts, to my local service manager...to apply for refund on that.

The elevated idle is for scr warm up. All of the new super duty’s do it, cab and chassis anyway. However I just did a 20e07 yesterday and it bricked on me after the glow plug module. 12hrs later hotline has been useless. Had one do it last week to but another ids machine was able to push it through. 🤦‍♂️

From what I've seen the smoke happens more in cold weather. Same with a choppy/thumbing noise from the intake/turbo. The elevated idle seems to happen in any weather. But this needs to be talked about more people are loosing their minds about it 🤣

The dealer sent out two techs in the dealer's mobile service van and did the update in my driveway about three weeks ago. I haven't been able to tell any difference in performance or fuel mileage. Can't tell that anything has been done to the truck.

How do you get recall notices? I bought a 2016 f250 6.7 from a ford dealership and see or hear about recalls but I haven’t received anything. I can put my vin in a recall website and it shows recalls but they are over 365 days old, how would I know if recalls were taken care of?

What's up with the 21E14 recall. I got a notice on my Ford Pass that my truck needs it. I looked up and the 20E07 was done back in 21. I have seen a loss in MPGs and random high idling since 20E07 was preformed.

if I remember right this update makes it easier to diagnose the NOX sensor by throwing a DTC for which sensor is getting irregular reading

We did an engine on a 2019 F550 and put a DPF filter and got it program at FORD and when it sits idling it idles around 1300rpm is that normal

Re: Dodge / Ram products- I'm a Ford truck guy and work for a vehicle rental agency. My job allows me to drive many different trucks from the Big 3 and the occasional Japanese unit. That being said, my least favorite of the Big 3 are the GM products and my one real issue with some Rams are the lack of knee room. I'm not at all a fan of the Titans or Tundras that I've driven but my sample size is pretty small.

That is exactly what happen to my 17. Cant even pull my 16000 lb toy hauler up at grade. 50 55 mph. Max with foot mashed to the floor. Before recall 22000 lb trailer up same grade 75 no problem with ability to pass if needed. Now semi trucks pass me...

Diesels that are going to idle more than a few minutes need to high idle. Combustion temps need to stay high. Higher oil pressure never hurts either. Worst thing we do every day is start our trucks, especially in the winter months

I let my 2006 F250 6.0 run. Don't usually let my 2019 F450 6.7 run for more than a few minutes if I park it.
