Oh Nanny, I loved this video. My first prime was when I was running around with my children getting them wherever they needed to be. I'm am in my second prime now. My husband's journey has ended and I'm living alone, my daughter and her family live next door, and doing whatever I want whenever I want. I'm taking much better care of me and loving it. I call it my second prime because first prime was all about family and now it's all about me. I'm alone but I'm not lonely, my children and grandchildren keep me very busy, they invite me out all the time. I feel free as a bird.

Thank you, I needed to hear that and a great Nanny topic. Yes I don't like the title Senior. One day we will not label people by their Age and a number. We just evolve and continue to evolve from one phase to another. It is about reinvention and discovering who we really are...time for You. Thank you Nanny.

I'm 62 and I am just starting to discover my interests. Working, school, raising kids and all of that is pretty much behind me so now I have time to do other things. Today I used scraps of lace curtains to make beautiful little cafe curtains for my kitchen window. I bought a simple sewing machine a few years ago and it's fun to use on projects. During the Christmas holiday I made gnomes from socks and rag garlands. I repurpose furniture too! I am starting on a beautiful armour that I plan to use as a coffee nook. I have major health problems that sometimes knock me flat on my butt. I just wait until I am feeling better and go back at it. Last year i canned vegetables and grew a little garden too!!!! Oh, and I am giving our old camper a total makeover. Wish me luck installing tongue in groove wood floors and reupholstering the bench seats in the camper this spring.😁 See, one project can take me months but it's like they say, "It's the journey, not the destination." I have nerve damage in my spine and serious other spinal issues but I do what I can, when I can. I spent years flat of my back and falling without notice and that taught me that I need to live while I can. When I was holding 6 little jars of tomatoes that I canned, I felt a sense of accomplishment as if I'd canned a bushel. 😁 I thank God every day that I can walk and stand. I am in the prime of my life❤

Absolutely LOVED every second of this video. You are always an inspiration and make me feel excited about growing older. I prefer to say "growing older" rather than "getting old" Growing is so much more positive. Super Interesting info about the younger generations view of what is old...I do think that with the crazy unrealistic Social media posts many young people have unfortunate fear of aging...I don't remember being afraid of getting old when I was young...I loved my forties...turning 50 gave me pause LOL...but my best decade yet are my sensational sixties. I definitely feel in my Prime. I stopped dying my hair which was incredibly freeing, started my youtube channel which as you know is super rewarding and takes up a lot of time, retired from my corporate job and for the first time in my life feel free....free to do the things I want...free to travel (budget of course LOL) I love this mature community on youtube and I adore YOU. And you are looking extra gorgeous today...perfect makeup, hair and that classy outfit rocks! Sending love and hugs to you and Moosie xoxo 😘💕❤

Am approaching 70. Excellent health. Youthful attitude. Am a paralegal and still run circles around my peers. I have a passion for my life and live it my way. Don't accept drama or self righteousness. Peace, kindness and laughter. And, make up and fashion😂. Nanny, Girl, you rock that ensemble. Really luv the necklace. Keep inspiring us. When I am feeling down in the dumps I remember that after my husband died, and I felt such despair, I decided that I would live the rest of my life in such a way that would have made my husband proud. He wouldn't want me wasting my remaining time here on earth in deep sadness and depression. This promise to him and myself has given me the strength to carry on and I have found pockets of happiness each day. Life is good, and I am definitely not out of my prime!

Hello Nanny. First of all, I love your necklace! I have never thought of the stages of life. After all prime is only a label. When I was a little girl, I asked my parents what was young, middle age and old. They could not tell me. So I thought that if a person lived to be 100 I would divide it into thirds. That meant that approximately birth to 33 was young. 33 to 66 was middle age. 66 and older was old. That was satisfactory for years. As I came through life I found that years did not matter. It was how a person felt. Physically and mentally. There is an old saying, youth is wasted on the young. I now know the true meaning of that. When we are young we rush through each day. Squeezing in as much as we can. Education and socialization. Building a career. Becoming a spouse and parenting, etc. We are rushing so much that we don’t fully recognize the importance of youth… the endless energy and good health. As we mature, we hopefully are more intelligent than in our youth. I don’t mean book learning. I mean life lessons. That accumulates over years. We take the time for inner reflection. Perhaps become more spiritual. These are things that would have been so helpful in our youth. Yes I believe that youth is wasted on the young in those terms. Prime, I have never thought about that. I loved being a wife and mother. I loved teaching and having my business. However now is a new chapter in my life. My husband has passed. My children are busy with their own families. My health is failing and I no longer drive. In my mind I am still young and vital. Then my body won’t cooperate to allow me to do the things that I want to. Mentally, yes, I am more intelligent, reflective and spiritual. However it cannot be denied that physically some of us can no longer whiz through spring cleaning. Or get down in our gardens to dig a hole. But we can enjoy our pets and there are endless hobbies to enjoy. As you said it is up to us to choose whatever brings us joy. I hope that this year you and Moose are able to go to Idaho. That would be wonderful. Blessings to you both, love, Sharon

I so understand your theory of our youth…Sharon…being the first 33 years of life …with fabulous energy and good health! But not necessarily always using the wisdom we have in our later years to full advantage…some day…way way into future years with hopefully great geriatric medical advancement …the older and wiser folks will be free of chronic illness , disease and pain, and able to live life to the fullest. Many blessings to you, too, Sharon..❤️

@@crushingtheir80snannyandmoose yes Nanny, God gave us this beautiful life and I have always thought that we should try to be our best at all stages of it. What we have into our golden years is priceless. It is then that we have the wisdom and experience that is only acquired through living. My husband worked full time well into his eighties. Once he retired he went downhill quickly. He worked for them for just under 60 years. It was hard for him to let that go. Stay safe and warm in this weather. Happy Spring Nanny. 🌸💕🌷

What a wonderful video. After watching you, Nanny, and reading some comments, I’ve realized that I am living a “prime” life. While raising children was and remains my favorite job, at 70 , I look back and realize every decade has had its great times, some sadness, some challenges and great reward. As I navigate my 70’s, I realize that so much of what I worried about was not that important, and now I want to focus on living a full, active and “prime” life for as long as I am privileged to. Still so many things to do, places to see, and memories to make, and if I want to make those memories wearing jeans, yay me! Love ya Nanny….you never fail to inspire me and make me think. You look perfectly classy today.😊🌻

Mental health Monday. Or should I say Mindfulness Monday. I love the idea of keeping a journal of my thoughts on my prime of life issues. Journaling can be very helpful and productive. I might add a 4th R word, and that is Reinvent. My life hasn't always been a picnic. I've been through some rough sledding here and there. (Haven't we all, in one way or another?) But I would often think of that old saying, "When life hands you lemons, make lemonade". I did some of my best art work while being a caregiver for my sister who was bedridden from multiple sclerosis. There's always a silver lining. You just have to look for it. Or as you say, it's in your mind or your thoughts. You decide if you're past your prime. Don't let others or situation you are in dictate. I'll admit that the last few years have been a bit much. I got through stage three cancer, started producing new work for the gallery I was in, then covid shut everything down. My dog got sick and eventually died. I've been a little wobbly, but a friend recently said that I didn't even need to reinvent myself, just start working again (paintings). My hair is very stark gray(is that a color?) Who cares? I'll be that artist with stark gray hair. Anyway, I guess I'm venting a little bit huh? You must have hit a nerve, Nanny. I've been told at different points throughout my life that I had peaked in my art career, only to go on to do more art works, etc. I'm feeling a little stuck right now but on the other hand, I can see me doing even more art and having exhibits, work shops, who knows? I actually can remember people from my highschool class thinking the best part of life was over after we graduated. I remember when I worked as a nursing assistant, in my younger years, some patients who were 60, seemed like they were 90, and some patients who were 90 seemed like they were 60. Like you say it's in the mind, what you tell yourself in your mind. So important. Thank you for reminding us. I think that I will try the journal thing. I have to say that you look lovely today in your black jacket and beautiful pearl choker necklace, along with jeans and fancy black loafers. In one word today's look is eclectic. Looks good on you. Thank you for the great video. I appreciate your efforts. Give Moose a hug from me. Glad to hear of your trip to Idaho plans. Sounds exciting. Take care.MJ♥️🤸🌷🐇🐣🍀

Nanny, you are such an inspiration! I feel that every day I'm in my prime. I remember when I was 47 years old and my grandmother was 94, twice my age, and I was sitting with her at her kitchen table talking. I said: "Wow, grandma I'm almost 50 years old!" She gently grabbed my hand and said: "Oh, you've got half your life ahead of you. Isn't that wonderful!" Nanny, you are so right. It's all in perspective. My grandmother chose to have purpose in her life, and I am sure that's why she lived to be 104 years old. She found the good in everything and everybody and always had a smile on her face. She lived in her own home with my family nearby who saw her every day and night, so that helped, too. I miss her so much. She was an amazing woman. xoxo

As I was watching your Vlog I realized I have never used the term “ prime of my life”. I feel like we go through chapters and phases. Good phases and hard phases. I’m almost 63 and still working as a NICU RN but I do see that chapter coming to an end within 2 years. What will be my next chapter🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️🤷🏻‍♀️I guess I’ll find out!!! BTW, I used age 62 as my getting older but I’m sad about it. Not yet!! Ha. You look BEAUTIFUL as always. I do look forward to your most wonderful Vlogs❤❤❤❤❤

This was wonderful. I finished my first novel and saw it published when I was 78. A dream come true. At 82, I am taking a course in Screenplay writing at my community college and loving it. I could be mother to the few 40 years olds and grandmother to the rest of the students in their 20s. I feel at home with these delightful young people who are just beginning their lives while I have lived several lifetimes. I thank you for your channel. Never miss an episode. Bless you and Moosie. Great video. Looking back (I'm 65), I can see time periods in every decade that were prime areas. Not sure I felt that way about them at the time. Didn't fully appreciate them. So I agree that it starts in your mind. Happiness is not a destination, it's a JOURNEY. So I try to make a conscious decision every day to be happy in that day! Thanks Nanny, very encouraging video.

I'm with you Nanny! Each day I am alive I feel in my prime. Life is such a gift and to waste it with thinking of such negative things is not being in your prime mind, if you will! LOL Embrace each day and be happy God has granted us all of these days and years. My grandchildren have their ideas of it all, LOL and I told them when they get to be my age they will marvel at how they thought this year or whatever age was "old"! We stated a business with our son and I was age 65 and worked until I was 72 and had to stop and stay home to take care of my husband and serious serious health issues. We went in each day and I was printing clothing and processing orders and running errends. Everyone else was retiring and tired and I was tickled to be able to get up, get dressed and be alive again and feeling of value again.........I've loved all the stages of my life! Sure we have ups and downs but nothing to ever think I was out of prime....We're all prime when we can get out of bed and have a day of newness and adventures even if it's dressing up to go shopping for groceries! Loved this vlog and my forty year old and youngest daughter said the other day she felt old.......I said "honey", you've only just begun! ;-) LOL love and prayers for all and God bless your attitude and you and Moosie! You look lovely in your outfit and your makeup is gorgeous. I did purchase your fav lipstick color, actually two of them! Optimistic!

You are luckier than most at your age Nanny. You still have your husband, you live right next to your daughter and her family, are still able to drive, and live in a comfy little home. You have a lot of reasons to still feel so alive and younger or in your "prime." Millions of people that are older are very sickly, in nursing homes, all their kids live far away from them, they are a widow or never married, they're living in less than happy situations. All the "positive"mind set in the world can't bring the kind of joy you constantly show because they are lonely, feeling unloved and unwanted, and lost. After a certain amount of time, living all alone and struggling because they don't have all that you have keeps million of people in a state of anxiety, sadness and depression. You have A LOT to keep you "going." I was a caregiver for the elderly so I saw plenty of people totally down and out and barely existing because they didn't have all that you have. You are MUCH luckier than most.

@@crushingtheir80snannyandmoose I do have a lot of compassion for the elderly. I love your channel, but I do wish you'd talk more, not a whole lot, but more of the hardships you go through at your age and for those of us getting older, AND show your true emotions of what you're going through, for example, the sadness, the anxiety, maybe a depressing day, that you go through so that people can really relate to you. When someone is always up and positive no matter what bad things are happening, it leads to others feeling their lives are just miserable, or how they lead their lives is all wrong. It leads to what's now known as "toxic positivity." I watch other videos of elderly women who show ALL their emotions, good, bad, happy, sad, depressed, crying etc and they are so relatable, they truly show their real emotions and don't just skip by it real quick with a positive thought. Real life is what I call it. I have enjoyed your channel but it's got too much "everything is great" going on and is getting hard to relate to. I love your personality Nanny, but it's getting to be unrelatable with all the "wonderfulness" that you always portray going on in your life. I don't mean turn your channel into a depressing downer thing, just make it more relatable in terms of ALL people's lives as they age and the hardships of aging without being so "cheerful" about it all. There are millions of older people looking for videos that speak of the hardships of aging that express the true painful emotions of the hardships of going through it. Love your channel anyway.

@@crushingtheir80snannyandmoose BTW, I'm not putting down your channel, it's just gotten too "positive." As an example, I watched a video a couple of weeks ago with an elderly woman who was going through a lot and her entire video was her crying, depressed and showing all the emotions she was going through that day. Not one positive comment from her, just what she was going through with her life. She got thousands of comments from people relating to the difficult time she was going through at the time, and thanking her for her video because they too were going through some kind of difficulty in their lives, and they didn't feel so alone in what they were going through and how they felt because of her video.
