"Middle class is just a hospital bill away from being poor" and that's an fact ...... Unfortunately we never got a chance to realise how fortunate and privileged we are to have all the facilities and assets ... I used to think that my family is a middle class family but after this video I can accept I'm from a high income slab... Well, Mohak just surprises us with his every new video.... Is it just me or the word 'middle-class' today is used just as a way of being 'relatable' to the masses and show it as an 'aesthetic' without knowing what it actually is?

It is relatable for a lot of people. Nobody likes calling themselves poor, they prefer middle class. The upper classes compare themselves with millionaires and think they aren't rich but just middle class. As Mohak said, if you live in a city even your house help, whom you consider poor and give your old clothes and toys to is actually in the top 40% of the country. 'Middle class' is relatable to a portion of the masses because only they have the time to consume such content. The numer of people who consider themselves middle class is massive. We underestimate just how big India is. We've come a long way but we still have a long way to go.

My father's salary is 21k and 7.5k goes to emi because of loan(amount of loan 3lakh) he took for paying my education fees. Rest 3k goes to emi for Inverter because we have electricity problems and I bought it from scholarship I got by paying down payment of 7k . 5k goes to sister who's studying in banaras hindu University only her mess fees is around 4k . Remaining 1k she uses for herself. 3k goes to groceries and left 3k goes in everyday expenses and tution fees of my brother . Nowadays, a person who has income more than 45k per month can't afford a home/flat in metro cities or nearby small cities. I think while defining middle class, the salary range must be increased by considering the current inflation.

Before the pandemic, I would have definitely answered that I am middle class. It was only during the pandemic that, while so many people were struggling, I was doing WFH from a house where I had my own room and workplace. This made me wonder how much privilege I possess in life and made me feel grateful. Sidenote: This genuinely is the coolest channel ever!! You pick up topics that we know are serious problems, but if you were to ask any of us (the viewers) about the solutions, we would not be able to come up with anything. Keep up the good work, team!!!

you are not actually rich. neither me. but considering the situation of the whole country we're rich for most of the people. you send a small factory worker to a poor African country. he/she will be considered very rich. that doesn't actually mean they are rich. wealth is measured relatively to other people. like If you work for a small company you would consider it's owner as very rich. but some people in a very wealthy locality of a metro city may consider them poor.

I am a Public Sector Bank Employee and I have been seeing the original middle class of our country since a real long time as we work on the real grassroot India. I would like to point out another fact that we may believe that Indians in a huge no have smartphones. But we are horribly wrong. Most of the rural and sub urban customers we serve, rarely have smartphones. I actually had a rough idea that Indian Middle class would only be around 5-7% , but I was astonished to see 2%. Well done Mohak Bro, for putting these fact in front of everyone.

I believe that one more aspect such as the size of the family matters a lot in identifying the middle class but it's often overlooked. For example, in India, there are a lot of people who earn relatively well but they are the sole breadwinner of a large family, they have to cater to their kids' education apart from spending on necessities and also have to take care of their old parents (since most of them do not have a pension fund). If we keep the above situation in mind a person who is earning 60k-80k can even be considered middle class

I am someone from that 2% people catagory - aka the middle class catagory. We are a family of 6 with dad as the only bread earner. Dad works in a different town, lives separately and has his own expenditure. With a salary of around 45k,we divide it like this,30k for us and 15 k for himself. With that 30k ,we pay our house rent (4.5k/month) and light bills, auto fares, monthly rashan, school fees, medical fees and what not. We can afford to go for shopping only once or twice a year,or else the rest of the entire year,we wear thrift clothes, shoes and so on... We face real difficulties towards the end of every month due to shortage of money. It's difficult living in a city in a rented house and with all 4 of us children going to school and a mother who is always in a poor health and with a father living separately who is also struggling with alcohol and gambling addiction. Nevertheless,i always feel blessed because ik there are millions without food ,water, clothes, shelter and even family. Mom always taught us "it is more Blessed to give than to recieve". Even with small amount of savings per month, mom and i always manage to help other needy people be it in the form of donating clothes, buying meds ,rice and sometimes even money. I just hope and pray dat one day I will be able to earn enough and I'll have a stable job be it in private or government sector. I dream on building a home ,our own home for my parents 👍😌

Some Indian rural people have more money but they just don't want to spend their money on luxury like they use cow dunk or sukhi lakdis as their cooking fuel because they have cows and big area of gardens around their houses. Like wise they don't use AC or freeze as their climates don't require these. Town side people have more liquid assets but rural people have more fixed assets. So, I think most Indian people have wealth but they just don't want to spend their money in luxury items.

There are times we feel an issue with money but everything gets on track soon I'm most greatful for my mother as there's instability in my house she to property issues between my father and his elder sister but once we settle that soon my mother said she'll be able to pay for a good college education as we'll get our share of money by then and my maternal grandfather always says if something uncertain happens he's more than happy to pay for my and my sister's higher education. The conclusion can called as we are forgetting our rural areas and only boasting on our urban centers whereas MK GANDHI has once told that the real Indian economy lives in the villages of India. But some blind haters of Gandhi aren't even trying to understand the great thoughts of the person to whom even Bose ji has remarked as BAPU.

If they had maintained their defiant stance on this issue, jinnah wouldn't have been successful. Not just that, he also forced the newly formed government of India to give 55 crores to pakistan, despite the fact that our own country was in ruins. You'd know this if the only piece of history you ever read wasn't NCERT

I think thats not completely the correct conclusion tho it is correct to an extent. Everyone faces problems irrespective of which class they belong to so it makes sense for ppl to complain but the thing is it is equally important to know how privileged one is and be grateful alongside so you don't dismiss yours problems and also aren't completely ignorant. Its all about balance.

I think when people show their inclination towards associating themselves with the middle class, they actually intend to say that they relate to the middle class mentality. These families are kinda stuck in time…most likely their parents or grandparents belonged to the middle class and change doesn’t come easy.

He considers us part of the middle-class and reminds me to stay humble no matter how successful I become. It's all about staying grounded and grateful for what we have.

Being middle-class is like having a Father who got retired recently after working for 40 years in a government job, a mother who takes care of our home and an elder sister. Being middle-class means parents saving for their children’s education and even taking a fat loan, if required. And then, working for as long as possible to try and repay their debts. It means parents hiding their troubles from kids, so that the kids can focus on their education and try to achieve everything the parents hoped for. It means thinking twice before going for a fancy dinner, 10 times before buying a car and 100 times before taking a home loan. And in most cases, enjoying by watching movies once in a few weeks and taking a vacation once in a year at a local hill station. It’s about kids showing early maturity to take a small portion of their parent’s baggage and starting to take care of them the same way they did for their kids. Being middle-class brings the fear of getting stagnant and the insecurity of losing out on a stable job while trying to take risks, especially when your entire family is dependent on you. Middle-class at times means giving up on your dreams because the cost of chasing them might be too big to handle. It’s about trying to do your best so that your parents can spend the remaining part of their life in peace. And at the same time beginning to hide your troubles from your parents the same way they hid from you. Middle-class is about being in the middle of striving to make their life better while making sure of not falling further down the middle-class group. Being middle-class ….. is not easy.

There is only 1 working person in the family of 4 in india. So is 2×30 = 60 $ which is around 5000₹. Now you know why most people in india are poor. That's why we say allow women to work. It will double the family income.

I belongs to farmer background in punjab our main source of income is just cultivation and the money we get after 6 month and between this time we have to survive on credit whether its credit or day to day expenses but my sister 2 years ago completed her 12th class and went abroad for further education which cost we had to bare around 30 lakh and more but now she got a PR over there and job security and her now monthly income is around 3 lakh in indian rupees unlikely we had 6 month after in earlier times so basically its undeniable that education need many expense to spent but outcome is worth ❤❤
