I'm really inclined towards people who don't want kids and are aware about it. Some people are not even good parents but they keep the baby even if they become parents accidentally. I really like that these people are thinking beyond 'have kids' thoroughly. The population of India is already worst. Glad these people are choosing not to hv kids.

You could've added one more point that is: OUR EXPERIENCE : Growing up in an household where you see your parents continuously fighting or you can simply say in abusive environment tends to plant a seed of "How better it would've been if i was born in this-that household". This thought continues to grow a insecurity in ourselves that "What if we can't be good parents and end up like ours". This can be a reason not a major one but still I guess.

We are both actively involved with animal welfare and would eventually like to get more involved with that. We also support education of our help’s kid. My parents were doctors as well and i had a very neglected childhood. I won’t say i had a bad one but my parents weren’t always there for me. It's easier to conform rather than walk your own path. Only secure individuals or couples can take such tough decisions. Choosing to be childfree would be a disaster for someone who has no life of their own or are mentally dependent on others for their happiness. Whereas I see most parents shift blame of all their bad decisions of life on their kids or their 'family responsibilities '.

My father couldn't even buy new clothes for some festivals and it broke my heart man. I'll just earn as good as i can and I'll buy whatever they want and take care of them that's it. Am going through similar kind of thing.. what you ll suggest as a friend..what to do .how to convince him..
@kavyakumar280710 ай бұрын
Convince with a motive, facts and reality, first be sure of why you want to adopt. You sound like a young woman, generally you are expected to have the physical tendencies to carry a healthy baby but when you go against this and choose adoption, you must have a strong reason to go against your own capabilities. Next, understand what your partner wants, their idea of having a family, extending it, etc. Also, think about the reality of responsibilities of having a child, evaluate if whether you are capable physically, mentally, financially and in every other ways to include an extra life into your lives. First you should have a strong idea on your opinion, try to convince your partner with facts and reality. I suggest you to never force your partner into anything they don't want to be a part of, especially when it is about a child, a family. You could only try to convince them. All the best to your future, hope my answer helps.

If not having a child is being selfish then having a child doesn’t make you selfless you just enlarge the circle of your selfishness . If one love children better serve in an orphanage or adopt a baby which is already born

True, it could lead to disaster for everyone. It affects parents, children, and everyone's life. However, a life with extreme drama is arguably better than a life with zero drama. We must consider the future, not only for ourselves but for everyone, as everyone's productivity contributes to building a better future. At least, we have to work towards it until AGI arrives. And that is why we should prioritize reproduction to ensure the continuation of life and contribute to shaping a better future for generations to come.

She spent her whole youth living in constant stress, worrying about money, jobs, children, family issues and never enjoyed her own life so when I grew up that made me realize how exhausting is being a parent and how sometimes they could be suffered in silent, they love their children, sure, but not invalidate their other feelings.

Your wife is blessed to have a husband as loving as you. Most men rarely consider what the woman has to endure during pregnancy, as well as after giving birth simply because they don’t have to experience it. Being a father of a 2 year old. I can understand the reasons for not having kids. 1) Privacy- There is no me/we time, we can't remember when we last time went out together. Before kids, we use to travel a lot and eat out restaurants. If you have toddlers you can imagine the headacne of travelling and eating out. I remember we went to restaurant and everyone were looking at us why because my little one was through tantrums. 2) It can be exhausting- I work from home so me and my wife share responsibilities. But there comes a time where we both want silence. 3) Romance- Making out or spending romantic time reduces a lot. Why because sometimes both couples are tired. This is just getting started, other things, like expenses, time management and all. But do i regret having a kid absolutely not because even though I might find crazy we love having kids and sometimes we spend lot of cute moments. So, yeah if you really want to have kids only they can cope with it. Haivng kids is not a joke but also it is a blessing.

Complete bullshit reason imo. This will only lead to more kids being raised by parents who don't care for environment. Assume there's 2 types of people A and B. Group A cares about environment, while group B doesn't. And the ratio is 50:50. Group A decides not to have kids for sake of environment while group B continues to make babies. And raise them and the kids will be very less likely to be educated about environment. Eventually the group A dies out and the society will be left with group B which is not really a great news for the environment. Apply same analogy to education, financial status, religion and you'll land into same doomed society..

Yes, they did make a sacrifice for their children, but their monetary sacrifice was not comparable for our generations where the expenses are at a higher ratio of our income, think about this, our parents could raise us with a single income, had a home, and still had time for us, but for us, we would need to be double income, would have no time for our children, and can't afford a home and also take care of them.
