My husband and oldest daughter think I’m on a Bible “kick” -they truly don’t understand, even my husband who’s a believer. His words: “I get that you are into all this but you’re going overboard, 24/7 with God and Christ.” I remembered what you said in a video not long ago, about giving all our “strength or oomph” every moment, and took it as a compliment. I told him thank you, that’s how Jesus wants us to live. I’m not pushing on them (I’m praying and bringing up lessons occasionally so they aren’t turned away or have the opposite effect), but I feel a very strong pull to study and learn, so yes all the time without ignoring my duties in life, just incorporating Christ into all parts. How I long one day to hear those words, “Well done, good and faithful servant.” Thank you for helping so much in my life and study, and especially my spiritual growth.

Your adoration and love for God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit is what is expected by those that know Him. I share in your situation but won’t stop or try to be less of a believer and follower. We want to do and please the Father in all we do and in being the person He wants us to be. We’re comforted by Him through the Word and the Holy Spirit. Hope to see you and your family one wonderful day in Heaven. Be strong and rejoice always until then. Love in Christ Yeshua.

Tracy, there will come a "season" when you are led by God to put all that you are learning from His written Word. How is He going to do this? He took the desire away from me to read the written as intensely as I did and He teaches me through daily living by using the written that I read.

The New man in Christ is literally the man that God speaks of when He says "let us make man in our image". Adam was never the end product, nor was this flesh an end in itself. When God declares that flesh and blood will never inherit the kingdom of heaven He means just that. Every believer should be able to say that they can do all things through Christ. Everyone that God wants for the New man in Christ is given completely through His Son, nothing is withheld. What parent would withhold natural growth from their child? The parent invest everything in their child's maturity. Christ is raised to the heavens for that purpose, because that is the place where we get everything we need. The earth provides everything it's children need to be carnal and worldly, that is the place where they get their ideology from. We get our Spiritual life, ideology, energy from Christ, so yes it is a statement of fact that we can do ALL things through Christ, it's just that 'Christians' don't actually know what those 'ALL' things are. This is the source of the "inexpressible joy" the Peter talks of.

I understood this passage way more deeply than i thought. I've been living in a way for many years now, that no matter what happened... I would reply ''Nothing much going on''. I was able to be ''content'' with every situation. You don't need house, you don't need wealth, you don't need anything... If you can be content with nothing, you are closer to god than you have ever been. Can you live without nothing? Can you still thank god when you have nothing? Can you feel love when you have nothing? The only truth in our lives is that we come to this world with nothing and we will leave this world with nothing. People who have more to lose will have more difficulties knowing god than those who have nothing.

So true. I personally had a lot of “stuff”, and like most people, to some degree of my identity was wrapped into having these things. It’s a mindful process to change and let things go, but my goodness having less truly is very freeing. More peace. More time. More prayers. More happiness. I am more content then ever before. I focus on God’s word more deeply. He is my foundation and he will take care of me, there’s no doubt. My faith is strong.

I admit, i stuggle with this as a pop culture enthusiast and nerd. I love my collectables. I do not even have "a lot" by most collector standards, but i know i have more then i already need! i have a hard time parting out what i should keep, what i should sell and what i should focus on in the future. Its kind of a trap. It feels like gnawing off your leg to sell things you enjoy so much. 😔 George Lucas said about the darkside of The Force "when you have stuff, you want more stuff because what you have is never enough. you are afraid to loose it, you'll do anything to keep it and gain more. A jedi thinks the oposite way." Its a very Christ like way of thinking that summarizes what Jesus is saying when he talks about the sparrow and how the things in this world can not last. Needless to say i have waaaay to many Star Wars toys* for a 40 year old msn. 😶😑😐🙄😧 * And He-Man and Batman and Superman and Ninja Turtles and Street Fighter and Gargoyles and Comic Books so on and so on.

@@michelledabundo765 Amen! Thank God for making this clear to you! I used to work for a public school district for about 12 years. I started when I was 18 years old during that time I earned an AA, a Bachelors, and a Masters degree. Just before summer break May 2016 I thought I was going to able to move around to a higher position I was pregnant at the time I earned that Masters. All the doors started closing on me I was not able to move into a higher position. The School district did not have any positions for my Masters at the time and the ones that were available they were using internal staffs to filled them at the time. So, I went down to the school district main office and tried speaking and seeing someone higher up like the superintendent. They said if I wanted to be a teacher they could make it happen that day. I did not want to be a teacher I knew this over the course of being in classrooms over the years. It's been 6 years.... 3 little boys. Fast forward! Looking back now I realize God had other plans for my life. I was save at the time... but didn't know that I was not born again by God. God have to make the doors close and the pandemic hit, churches close. I started reading my bible and realized that the God of the bible was different from whats being offered by this world and in most churches. An all inclusive God that makes you more richer, makes all your dreams come through, and takes you with your sin but not dying of one self daily and picking up your cross and following him, through sanctification and a holy life through the holy spirit not of one's self effect. Anyhow, my husband and 3 little boys live a simple life and there is nothing worth chasing in this life! Not a bigger house, cars, earthly wealth or possessions. I recommend relying on Jesus everyday! because he is able and he will not fail you! Look at the lilies of the field being clothed better than king Solomon in all his glory! Matthew 6 vs 24-34.

Therefore, I can do all things through Christ, who strengthens me, even though I may not have physical strength to do exactly what is asked I can still serve and bring about light to others to the gospel of Jesus Christ. I am a graduate of a Lutheran seminary in Missouri send it. I struggled and I couldn’t attend it with them over my placement as a pastor. I have cerebral palsy and walking was not an easy thing for me to do. But thanks be to God through surgery and therapy when I was a younger man and a child, I was made able to do those things that I needed to do, although not as well as anyone or myself might have wished. Nevertheless, I did what I could when I could in however, way, I managed it to serve Jesus Christ. Now I am approaching 75. I am eager to go home. To join my family and my wife, but God is not finished with me yet. Therefore I continue on.

@@michaelsaili1384 I agree. The way this verse has been used by people needing a feel good injection of some sort to bolster confidence in life says a lot. It's like a crutch that wasn't meant to be one. Rather than focusing on the "I can do..." as the takeaway booster, take the focus away from self and read up on Paul's circumstances and his life's mission which is the actual interpretation. There are enough of "positive thinking" authors flooding the market. Apostle Paul simply wasn't one. It's like us reading into the texts-happens all the time.

@Robert Mac Rhema is the revelation by the Holy Spirit into the ''spirit of the word''. When you peel a skin of an onion, you still get an onion with other layers inside. The inner surface may look a bit different from the previous one, but what you have is still an onion and on the next peel, you'll still have a full onion.

Once again I say Amen brother. I have long held that as I prepare to preach on scriptures that I dig into the background of what and where and to whom and how it is written. I look at what was happening before the author of the scripture wrote it I'm looking at what is happening at the time that the author is writing that scripture. And more importantly I try to look at what this or that particular scripture is saying to us today as we read it. And quite often I am not saying that the scripture as we read it today is meant to be interpreted in a way that it was interpreted when it was written. I feel that we need to know all of these things before we dig in to a scripture and we need to use all of these things to interpret for what the scripture is saying to us today. Once again Amen brother.

What is the value in a lay person reading the bible if I can't understand what the words mean? Why should I trust that you will offer me the correct interpretation? I know the bible says such and such, but it actually doesn't mean what it says".

When the man and the woman disobeyed God in the garden and ate from the forbidden tree, they died spiritually. However, before the fall God communicated with man on a spiritual level. But when the man and woman fell, a spiritual disconnect took place because, now, man's perfect spirit died that day and that death passed to every man who would be born thereafter. In order for man's spirit to be made alive again unto God,who being Spirit, man needed to be born- again, and this new life comes only through God's Son Jesus Christ. When one freely invites Jesus into their hearts as their savior,(their substitute for the penalty of sin, which is judgement of sin, their spirit man is 'quickened' (made alive again) unto God and right fellowship with him is restored. And now, the things of God (his Word, for instance) starts to make sense to them. This is because God's Holy Spirit comes to live on the inside of the newly born-again believer, dwelling in their newly revived spirit. 1 Corinthians 2:14... But the natural man does not receive the things of God, for they are foolishness to him; nor can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. One would have to admit that JOHN 3:16 is one of the simplest scriptures found in God's Word. Jesus' words to Nicodemus, "YOU MUST BE BORN AGAIN."

Sorry it wasn't the answer you were looking for, but I hope you embrace God's ultimate love letter and challenge as expressed in JOHN 3:16...For God so loved the world that He gave his only begotten Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life. God did not make this difficult. This is the gospel (the good news, if you will) If God had not sent his Son to die for the sins of man, man would have had to take the punishment for their own sins which is eternal torment and separation from a loving God for ever. God's love is not rocket science. Only man makes it hard in his own mind.

I like to hear your perspective, and I'd just like to point out, that the one verse. They're faith was not strong enough to cast out the demon. I believe in Matthew maybe verse 18 not sure, was removed from all protestant/catholic versions of the bible. I believe I might have cast out a demon the one day, I went to hospital for drug induced psychosis, where I converted a girl towards the faith, and gave out all the sweets my parents had given me, I had psychosis for months, the only way I got rid of my psychotic thought loop, was when I was told to leave my thoughts with God, so I did, I still had occurrences, but I can safely say I am free of psychosis, and can go back to smoking weed, I am now on a 3 month break, the first real break I've taken since 12 years old. I am now 25. I have a story to tell, but I won't share all of it here. I do believe that we can do anything with faith. Yes we might not be able to levitate and be superheroes, but I'm not even going to cross that possibility out. Even be it unlikely. Our relationship with the Son and the Father especially in my opinion, is the most important aspect apart from diminishing sin and accepting forgiveness upon forgive-ment being achieved. 1st commandment. Love thy (Lord) Thy GOD with all your strength heart soul and mind. I did this, it is only around the age of 25 that I met Jesus. He saw I was sad(not depressed)because I thought I had failed the test given to me, and so it happened as I felt that, I felt a stirring in my heart, and I went outside and put my hands into the sky as I had done before without success. (Hoping to be taken out of this life in the events before, I believe if I commit suicide I will go to hell) So it happened when I did this, as I poured my emotion out, my hands were grasped by Jesus, and I was pulled up into the clouds from where I was standing in real life in the sober reality. I was led to a place, and shown a few personal things, the whole occurence was 4 quick sequences of events. The most notable for me to pass down here. Is I was told to learn Ishmal which apparently means to wear a shawl, being commanded to wear shawl in arabic. In this scenario as I write this, I am going against the act of wearing a shawl, because I am not cloaking my opinion so to speak, I am using it, as a way for you to confirm my lucidity of mind, and essence of truth. Many other things have happened in my life to this effect, likely due to the circumstances I have put myself in, and I am a very spiritual person with that being said too. I love your videos thus far, you have a interesting demeanor about you, a sort of passion almost, you speak clearly and think logically, surely unburdened by the troubles of today, how we all should try to be to inspire others. Keep up the good work.

Great video! This verse inspired the name of my ministry, so it’s one I’ve reflected on a lot. I’m so tired of hearing it being taken out of context to say what it really isn’t. Thanks a lot for shedding light on what the Bible is really saying in Phil 4:13 :)

I feel like the message of the verse about contentment is more obscure now vs clearer. Is it saying he has learned how to be a survivalist or he has learned how to be content in an emotional way?

This is a poor interpretation of that Scripture. To isolate a statement, inject other words into it to get your point across then ignore other Scripture that supports Philippians 4:13 appears highly questionable to me! Stick to preaching the Gospel and stop trying to become a youtube sensation!

The only thing really needed to understand the verse is to look at the context. Paul is very obviously speaking in reference to being able to always go on, no matter what, because Christ strengthens him. This isn't reading into the verse, it's what Paul is directly saying. Yes, faith can be very powerful. Yes, many miracles can be done by faith in Christ. But this is not the passage to turn to for guidance on that, it is about our strength being in Christ and him only.

@@phantomic109 Matthew 17:20 And Jesus said unto them, Because of your unbelief: for verily I say unto you, If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, Remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you. Philippians 4:13 means EXACTLY what it says!

@@brucedavenport7016 You don't seem to have read my entire response. Yes, passages like Matthew 17:20 are about that topic; but Philippians 4:13 is not. They are two very different verses about two very different things. You can't make verses say whatever you want them to. Matthew 17:20 DOES say what you think it says, though it is important to remember that the power of faith to "move mountains" comes from God, and because of that, faith can move mountains only when it is in God's will. Otherwise though, yes, I would agree with your interpretation of that verse. Philippians 4:13, on the other hand, shows in its immediate context that it is not about the same topic.

@@phantomic109 Let's consider the context of this misguided individual. Notice the banner behind him "Can we do all things?" Listen to his opening remarks "Does this verse mean what it says or does it mean something else?" This guy is lost. Even taking Paul's comment in context, it still clearly states that God supplies his every need. That is totally congruent with every other similar Scripture in the NT. Paul's message is clear. To live is Christ and to die is gain. And in Christ, ALL things are possible.

No lies detected here. Philippians 2:12-15= Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. 13For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. 14Do all things without murmurings and disputings: 15That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world

Let me help you to answer that question. Is teacher accountable for what they teach? We are teachers and students, the things we learn are from teacher. Do you feel that you are ready to teach others? Or do you feel you are still a student who is still learning? Jesus was a teacher.

What I’m trying to figure out is I would be able to teach knowing the little I do. I mean teaching to friends and family

Sometimes I just wonder, when can we take the bible more personal. Many of the passages are from God to his people or specific persons. So, when can I take over some passages and make them mine? So if God said something to his people, is that word eternally for them and it would never make sense to use it personally? If most of the passages is the word of God to his people, then, when is God talking to me when I'm reading it? THANK YOU and BLESSINGS!

Thankyou so much for this. Had particular resonance because I've read alot on stoicism (an Taoism, which has similar messge to this) but I'm a Christian. Also currently I jealous because of how hard I'm working, but have become old and have so little. But it really is something that touches my heart and helps to realign my path. Sometimes we waste our time just because we chase the wrong things. Paul is a true inspiration ❤️

I haven't been called to spread the gospel, as the word has already been sown throughout the world. So I am content to sit at Jesus' feet, like Mary, and listen. If someone decides that they have been called to do that, good for them. All I ask is that they don't be like Martha.

This is not only my favorite passage but it is also what I have lived through for the last 10 years. In a way I agree with you but in a way I don't think you have taken it nearly as far as it can go. I know for a fact through my life in those years that the word strength in it has meant more than one meaning like you use it. It has also meant physical strength when you don't think you have enough to do it. In that way it doesn't always mean you need more strength from Him to do it, though, it can mean that. What the Lord often shows me is another way of doing things that takes less than the strength that I thought was needed. So many times that has been the case and some of those things I am still doing, even since my heart catheter surgery last July. Some things I can't do that way anymore because of the surgery. Also with it not meaning that kind of physical strength it is a very important emotional lifting up that has often gotten me through very difficult situations that I would have just given up on and tried to get away. I have had an anxiety problem often in those 10 years that only by me saying and believing that and staying in the situation instead of escaping to safety have I been able to get things done, no matter where I was at the time. Without knowing that and saying it and believing it, a number of things never would have gotten done. I am not good at writing and explaining things so I hope you understand what I am saying. I have lived through all of these meanings in my life. So accepting what you say the meaning really is does not work with me because of my living those other meanings of it also. God Bless You.
