The main reason I feel like the channel stopped growing as much as it did was the departure from series. Seeing humans fall flat was awesome because it gave you something to look forward to that was CONNECTED to the last video. There is no cliff hanger in a gta playlist video and tbh I watch them as mini podcasts and don’t care about the video because what happens is irrelevant and doesn’t spill over to another video so I couldn’t be bothered to pay attention to the visual. With a series like shat block you need to watch sequentially for inside jokes or to see progress etc. I think this channel needs more continuing series with a narrative or continuity.
@shmink25 ай бұрын
I personally feel the exact opposite. When I see a serious I know there's a higher likelihood that they'll be talking about the game itself and what's happening in the game. I don't care about their gameplay, for me it's all about the humour from 3 sincere guys who can also be poignant and raise interesting topics, questions and opinions. Different strokes and all that I guess, that's probably the reason the channel isn't bigger, because as Trott said, you don't know what to expect with hat films and as a result they're not reliable. Too me though that just shows more than anything that their genuine people rather than playing the youtube game. One could argue though that that's supposed to be the podcast. But to me it feels like there's too much energy on the podcast for it to hit the same notes as the more chilled out environment of GTA playlists or trials or something of that ilk.

In my opinion i don't believe we should censor the past, just accept it was the past. If you censor based on subjective concepts such as offence you create dogmas of speech, its a slippery slope. On the subject of statues, i would suggest that rather than celebrate a person in whole, a statue can celebrate specific elements of a person, as long as the persons flaws are recognized too. i'd suggest that, as with confederate generals in American statures, the positive aspects of a person can be celebrated whilst their flaws are recognized.
@zachpeterson17787 жыл бұрын
Baphomet I agree whole heartedly. The past is MEANT to be remembered, especially the bad, so we know not to make the same mistakes
@Dawnfeethers7 жыл бұрын
Celebrating positives whilst acknowledging negatives is why the founding fathers are still celebrated. However, I'd suggest you consider additionally that media doesn't exist in a vacuum, and that it can often cause harm. Books, movies, and videos espousing hateful views encourage and passively affirm real violence. Additionally, both hateful media and casual displays of intolerance build up to long-term psychological damage, as those targeted by such often face such views personally and constantly.
@aliensinnoh17 жыл бұрын
Baphomet that ignores the history of those statues, that were mostly put up when Jim Crow laws were being passed as a way to tell black people that white people are back in charge.

The problem with the Yogscast Minecraft is that the audience that were younger at the time of watching it have now grown out of it as they got older. But if you try it with the newer generations now they aren't as interested in it.
@Camhin17 жыл бұрын
You have to put the content in the context of the era it was created it. You should never have to post edit content. For example the people who want to remove the n word from the huckleberry fin books, but you have to look at the past to be able to move into the future. Censorship can cause the past to repeat itself.
@declaringpond22767 жыл бұрын
Camhin1 But the statues, im assuming you're talking about statues, we're mostly made after the civil war. Also they were put up to celebrated white supremacy, not the civil war. And if you're against censorship why not mention the south changed history lesson plans and textbooks so that it would protray the south as the victims. They would say the main cause of the civil war was that the north was being aggressive rather than saying they owned slaves.
@Camhin17 жыл бұрын
DeclaringPond 22 I... I said nothing about the statues, also think there is difference between recognition of the past and celebration of it. Those statues were celebrating those men which not the way they should be looked at in history.

I don't think we should start cutting out parts of media / history just because it doesn't fit our current moral standards. Should we start cutting out scenes of Shakespeare and altering classical poetry because the subject matter is considered offensive now? Is that really what we want human history to become? A set of lies and alterations that don't represent the original artists intention? I understand that Ace Ventura isn't going to be as important to the world as Shakespeare or da Vinci but why should it be held to a different standard. If people don't like that is offensive now then they don't have to watch it if they are so sensitive. Reasonable people should be able to see content of a different era and appreciate it for what is was at the time and where we are now without trying to censor the reality of the world at that time.

The UK doesn't prescribe opioids at as high a rate as the US but UK doctors definitely do prescribe opioids. The reality is opioids are by far the best painkiller we have, so if someone actually does have severe chronic pain, they probably need opioids to deal with it. The issue arises when people who only have moderate or little pain are prescribed opioids when they don't really need them. That's when the dependence issues become problematic. And benzodiazepines aren't opioids. Benzos are like Xanax and Valium, opioids are Oxycodone, Vicodin, etc.

To Smithy: Lots of people are on mild forms of opioids with codeine, which turns into morphine in your system. Its pretty common to see people on co-codamol and if that isn't enough the next step will generally be oral morphine, but you gotta be REAL poorly to get to that stage.
@luketfer7 жыл бұрын
Co-codamol is still fairly decently regulated here in the UK. Usually they won't sell you more than one pack at a time and if you keep going back to them constantly they actually shut you off (at least that specific one will). Though this varies on a per store basis, my local gave me two packs no hestitation but thats because I had clearly just had dental surgery since when I went to speak to them I ended up dribbling bloody saliva down myself (both my entire lower jaw and part of my upper had been numbed). Actually kind of embarrassing. Having the woman working the till go "oh erm...you might want to use this..." handing me a tissue, dabbing my chin and realising I'd just drooled down myself like an idiot.
@RockapePlays7 жыл бұрын
Well you can only get it on prescription so it needs to be agreed by a prescriber such as a GP or in your case the dentist prescribed it, any repeats would also need to go through your GP so as far as I know it isn't up to the pharmacy to shut you off, they just go based on what a doctor says. But anyway it is very tame compared to morphine/diamorphine (heroin) but even still it can give you side effects that impair your driving and whatnot. And we get free prescriptions in Wales so none of this buying nonsense :-P
@luketfer7 жыл бұрын
Actually Co-codamol is available over the counter, its the strongest, non-prescription painkiller you can simply walk in and just buy. However it is stored behind the counter and you have to specifically ask for it, you can't just pick it up like other pain killers. Some places will ask you what you need it for, make a note of it an inform you that you should only take it for three days. And aye here in the UK we...well..we're both part of Great Britain so yay for NHS. Kind of glad too, since I'm allergic to Penicillin it means I get prescribed all the weird ones which I imagine if I was paying for, would cost a hell of a lot. Looking at it privately, it costs nearly £50 for one box of Amoxicillin (which I can't take, since, well allergies but we'll use it for an example) that same medication on NHS £8.50. My dental work would have costs me hundreds if I'd had it done privately. Multiple teeth removed, multiple fillings (considering it is £75 per tooth removed if you go private) on the NHS it cost me £58 and that was for two white fillings as well.

I think my favourite thing about you cunning stunt lads is that I'll never know what I'm in for when I watch a video of yours. There's no shortage of content on here that you can watch and turn off your brain; doing that has its place, but shutting out issues from our lives does more harm than good. I think a lot of conversation nowadays gets shut down because nobody wants to rock the boat... we shouldn't have to qualify all our questions with assurances that our intentions aren't selfish. Censoring history is dangerous because it can always lead to accusations of hiding things you've done to deceive people... if you acknowledge and own up to your mistakes, it can show that you've changed- so long as you actually have. I think that for the most part people respond more to openness than they do censorship, even if means your past mistakes are made public. Maybe that's too idealistic, I don't know, but I like to keep some measure of optimism in my thinking still. I'm sure in 10 years I'll be too jaded to care, but whatever.

Not the biggest takehome from the video, but felt compelled to point out that benzodiazepines are a class of drug completely unrelated from opiates/opioids, prescribed as anxiolytics, sedatives, etc, and work through the GABA pathway in the brain. Unrelated to pain almost entirely, with the small exception that rheumatics occasionally benefit from the muscle relaxant properties. Nice to hear you guys mention how serious recreational benzo use is here instead of regurgitating the "opioid epidemic" line. Cheers

He was not actually Trans but just assumed einhorns identity as part of an overly elaborate plan to get revenge on dan marino rather than feeling he was really a woman born in a mans body. He even kept Captain Winky safely tucked away. I would argue it is more a homophobic scene than an anti-trans scene but even then feel it is just a lazy obvious way to express to the audience that finkle/einhorn had got it on with everyone in the room including Snowflake the dolphin apparently.

Overwatch is all about quick matches, taking about 10-15 mins. Unless you play comp and it's easily doubled. Also depends on the map objectives, some times you can win a match in about 5 mins if you're on Attack and the defense can't do anything. The maps Temple of Anubis, and Hanamura, are like that often.

Just for everbody's education :) GPs actually do prescribe a lot of opioids, including morphine, out in the community. I think in the US they just tend to prescribe a lot of stronger opioids, and less carefully. Benzodiazepines (e.g. diazepam/valium) are a type of sedative and their own class of drug (not opioid) - Smith you're correct, it is a big problem.

I can't think of anything that would offend me, if I don't like or agree with it then I ignore it and don't put enough value to it to be offended by it. I feel too many people take so much too personally and feel like they are being attacked when in most cases they are not, challenged perhaps but not directly attacked.
@Nok_Sul7 жыл бұрын
The only thing that really offends me is ignorance being paraded as fact or truth. Like people who smugly say the world is only 4000 years old, because a book says so. Or that something is "unnatural", because they personally haven't actually bothered to find out if it occurs in nature or not, they've just assumed it doesn't. A lack of awareness is the phrase I think. Often times it is hard to tell when something isn't a personal attack, especially nowadays when there are so many xenophobes out there who hate others for very personal reasons.

If in 20 years time everybody is breathing through a complex device, and breathing without the device becomes illegal, it would be wrong to then convict people for breathing regularly 20 years ago. When basic principles like this are questioned, you know the world is fucked.

I do miss when Minecraft was a thing. And I grow up watching it from you guys and Yogscast. But I'm glad you guys have found a new game that you can play a lot. GTA5 is a perfect replacement, it's really strange seeing things change in front of my eyes. I saw your channel go from Minecraft to GTA5, weird 😶🙃

Benzodiazepines are a group of highly addictive sedatives, mainly used to treat short-term sleep disorders and anxiety. Nothing to do with opioids.

In regards to this, the classic Warner Brothers cartoon shorts (Bugs Bunny etc) all come with disclaimers now saying that these cartoons may come with scenes viewers may find offensive. Interesting how things change in a short period of time.

Benzo's are not opiates. They are primarily used as treatment for anxiety disorders, but are highly addictive. Opiate addiction is an enormous issue in the States, especially in the Midwest where addiction is treated as more a personality flaw than a disease. Both medication classes are highly addictive, and are meant to be prescribed sparingly. Sadly, this has not been the case.
