Dancing with a partner is an intimate experience, but how do we ensure it's a safe and comfortable one?
A comment: “Unless you know your partner well, avoid touching "soft spots" like hips, behind, or neck areas.”
But what constitutes "knowing well" and what's considered a “soft spot”?
The key is open communication and reading body language cues. A slight twitch, raised eyebrow, or tensed muscles could signal discomfort. We need to teach more than just dance moves - effective partnership requires understanding personal boundaries, and respecting individual differences.
By actively looking for non-verbal signals, we can create a trusting, enjoyable dance experience for all. When in doubt, ask your partner what they're comfortable with.
🤔 What "soft spots" would you advise partners to avoid until that trust is built?
🤔 What are YOUR tips for reading those subtle signals?
