Rashonda, I am an EDM and I have no debt. I was given advice by my lawyer, accountant and financial planner not to pay off my house, but I did it anyway. It took a couple of weeks to sink in and then it was magic. The peace is fantastic. No one can take my house. And I am free.

The Ramsey team is a real inspiration to me as a 22 year old college student. I'm going to make it through debt free in 2 years with a Mechanical Engineering Technology degree. Financial pressure used to seem so overwhelming and confusing to me until I could really see the fundamentals laid out here with each episode of the Ramsey show that I watch. Thank you guys!

My call was at 1:30 and I took this advice. I closed down my businesses that weren’t making much money. Wasn’t fun, but Distractions for sure. I doubled my income last year to 40k and I was able to purchase a home well under appraised value and build instant equity. Still debt free except a small car loan.

Loving the new streamlined format without the lengthy commercials. 👌🏽

Same here. I listen to this via youtube at work and it's so annoying to have to either go skip over all of it, or listen to it.
@jamesphelps95734 жыл бұрын
I learned while at work rewatching it it was about 300 seconds of skipping forward lol. Glad they did this change.
@dianem41884 жыл бұрын
Me too. I am going to miss the turning point videos though.
@juliewatson39694 жыл бұрын
I like the fact that the show had its own Ramsey commercials, but it’s also nice not having to skip ahead when I only have a short amount of time to listen. 👍🏼
@reedlarsen54414 жыл бұрын
You mean I don't have to press fast forward (skip forward 10 seconds) 30 times on my phone to skip the commercials anymore? I'm gonna miss that.

It was sweet to hear you working through the psychology of her home purchase. I mostly watch the popular clips from the show, but those don't really show the softer side of dave.
@thisuniquechica4 жыл бұрын
I wonder if he was more patient with her because she’s young and needed a bit of help to think through it logically, versus the older people who call in who just keep repeating mistakes.

At timestamp 12:00...DR's answer confuses me. If the homebuyer hit bad times, owing $298k on a $300k house would, indeed, mean selling wouldn't 'help' her. But the $298k balance would also mean she had not put so much down. Her cash reserves were deployed elsewhere. And, hopefully, would be available to serve as a cushion in bad times. Right...?

My hubby and I have a home with much equity. We are near retirement. What would be your course of action if you wanted to get out of the large home your in and want to get into a one level? Mind you, one levels in our area are minimum 350,000. Rent?

It's frustrating when people ASSUME that everyone has a cell phone and can text. I also run into the problem when websites want to have a cell phone number so they can verify who I am. No alternatives are given for those who don't have a cell phone or who ran out of minutes & can only call emergency. [Sigh]
@eckankar77564 жыл бұрын
Hope you can find an affordable way to text, it's a great benefit. The show is on youtube so you can catch the replay.

Pay off the car first because the payments are usually higher. In addition paying a person back instead of a corporation could reduce a relational stress.

The steps Dave teaches is to pay off the smallest bill first then snowball that payment into the next smallest bill.

If I’m the eBay seller it seems like giving up a lot (health insurance/retirement). I’d rather keep my benefits and roll the kids a ball and tell them not to kill eachother while i check my eBay account on my phone. That’s what a lot of gym teachers do anyways.
